Dirty, sexy, lovely. Yes, this is much of everything...

Musc Koublai Khan welcomes you with a burst of manure, flowers and patchouli. Very sexy, varm and much easier to like than I tought it should be. Wouldn´t have no problems to wear this in public, yes it is dirty, but not at all overly so... It makes me feel warm, comfy and sensual. The burst of manure settles down and lingering troughtout the whole fragrance, but softer and softer... The manure makes the rose pretty, I´ve herad roses thriwe in manure? This one sure does. An absolutly must try for everyone, good sillage and longlasting. The drydown is soft, ambery and nice, but I like the beginning better...

Well, I prefer to make my impressions about perfumes BEFORE reading reviews, in particular, characteristics by Luca Turin. I respect his opinion, but in perception of aromas each of us has his own associations.
I have this scent in a wax sample, so probably it is not "100% true aroma of Muscs Koublai Khan"?
For me this aroma is... a breath of a smoker - a lot of burnt tobacco. It is very similar to a smell of repeatedly lighted up cigar made of poor quality tobacco, and plus very "rude" leather smell. It softens with time, and, as most of SL scents, gets sweeter. For me the smell of cigar smoke is very unpleasant itself - MHO. By the way, my husband finds this perfume quite wearable!

I love aroma of premium pipe tobacco - an oily, sweetish aroma with a shade of smoked plum and cherry. Premium tobacco in fine quality leather snuffbox - this is Lutens' Cuir Mauresque!

Highly controversial, this perfume is considered a must-try for those who love dirty, sexy perfumes. After much reading of scandalous rumor, I finally got a chance to try this and was very disappointed. Rather than a raunchy, dirty sexed up amber, I got a clean, soapy musk and barnyard. The scents don’t blend, but rather switch off, first one then the other. I get dirty stalls, old hay and head-shop musk oil. Not what I was expecting at all
