Poudre d'Epices Sinfonia di Note for women and men

This is a difficult one... I have tried it a few times before and could not decide whether I like it or not. At first I thought "this is just odd".

The opening is quite sharp and strong and...somehow unexpected, really - the potent and somewhat raw spices (especially cinnamon and cloves I would say) get into your nose with a mighty smack... and it is not unpleasant, just surprising...not what you expect a fragrance to smell like.

The second and every consequent time was better. And better. The spices started to mingle with the (baby)powder and the woods and I like that! There is an old fashioned, nostalgic and somehow familiar, a little dusty zing to it and when the dust settles down, it is actually very pretty, quite sweet and charming!

Long lasting, towards the end woody/soapy and on me certainly most unusual! I do like it.

This is powder and soft spices, just as the name suggests. It's not bad, but not really amazing either. The opening is green but this only lasts a few minutes, if that. Then the next phase reminds me of a baby's bottom cleaned with a scented wipe and dusted with baby powder. Not really horrible, but not what I want to smell like either. Then in about half an hour, the wood comes out and the cinnamon is strong too and this is the best part. musk and pepper are there in supporting roles. this could easily be masculine and is a deep rich woody spice without being too much. Lovely for wintertime, nightime etc..
