Soir de Lune is a pefume for those who are chosen; it’s elegant, intense, a modern fruity-chypre. The moon illuminates the sky, the night is mysterious and magnetic. Dominique Ropion used a sharp chypre essence for its main composition; a voloptous floral heart made of rose, mimosa, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley, while the trail is a more intense and richer thanks to the sweet and darker base. At its heart, a cool freshness of iris is opposed to a honey-sweet mimosa note. Main notes are: lemon, bergamot, orange, mandarine, coriander, nutmeg, pimento as top notes; the heart note is composed of May rose absolute, mimosa absolute, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, peach and the base note includes moss, musk, patchouli, honey, sandalwood. A bottle both rounded and facetted, and topped with a metal cap designed by Polish sculptor Bronislaw Krzysztof. Soir de Lune is available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml Eau de Parfum bottles. It was created in 2006.

Soir de Lune is not something you'll find yourself liking immediately, in fact for some the initial blast is a bit much, but once this fragrance settles it's a totally different kettle of fish and one that stays in your thoughts even once the scent has dissipated.
It's a little hard to describe how Soir de Lune smells to me. In some ways it reminds me of Giorgio by Giorgio Beverly Hills, but of course a more refined and elegant version.
I'll start with describing it as a delicious, powdery rose chypre. The rose note is slightly jammy and sweet, drizzled with honey and further complimented by fresh slices of juicy peach. The blend is luxurious, smooth and warm.
The heart introduces some interesting spices and woodsy notes. It's here that Soir de Lune settles into chypre territory, becoming slightly earthy and dense. Sandalwood comes in the form of sandalwood scented incense sticks, a smell I relate to as the scent of those new age stores. Soir de Lune essentially reminds me of the mystical, gypsy types.
The longevity is truly wonderful, clinging to the skin for what feels like forever. Soir de Lune is the kind of rose that I love to wear. In other words, it's a rose fragrance that doesn't smell strictly of garden roses. It's got an aggressiveness to it, and I like that.
I highly recommend Soir de Lune to any rose enthusiast or chypre lover. It's one fragrance that I wish I hadn't overlooked until now.
Love love love big time! If anyone wants to swap, i'm happy to offer a job lot of my perfumes for just this one(Chanel Nr.5 vintage, Coco Chanel, Annick Goutal Mandragore, Clarins Eau de Jardins usw, some with a few squirts gone.)! Want to make Soir de Lune my signature, partly used bottles are okay as well!
Update: I couldn't wait, just ordered myself a bottle yesterday! As a student I'm so broke now, but soooo happy :D...well...at least I'll smell divine at uni :DD
I got the year 2009 prestigious edition last Friday. Today, after Chinese New Year Holiday, first day of work, I wear it.
I took 3 or 4 spray cause it's a new bottle. The scent indeed is more modern and younger compare with Eau Du Soir. It's sweet, uplifting, happy, and most important very long lasting.
Though compare with Miss Dior Cherie is more expensive, but Sisley quality, you know you spend your money on the right brand.
An incredible lasting, beautiful fragrance starts with a beautiful concept. The stopper sculpture shows the image of young Count Hubert (the moon with a man face) and Isabelle. It's like bring back their sweet memory when the couple are in love and kissing under the moon. I will get this perfume, so that I can share their happiness and bless this husband and wife loving each other forever.
I think the formula is the same as Eau Du Soir, but add with honey to create the sweetness. Makes the chypre last a lot.
It's only expensive!
A very soapy, clean and fresh smell....I like it but I think it suits mature women rather then young girls.
Very strong. not for the weak or faint-hearted. More for those who enjoy eau de toilet cleaner and strong soapy smells. If I breathe out on to my skin so that the moisture from my breath dampens my skin, I can smell a trace of flowers, otherwise just an OTT "perfumey smell" that could cause adults to drop at fifty meters. Not for me this one, but I recognise that I am apparently in a minority, since most people are using words like classy, feminine, elegant and honeyed. Ho hum.
Extremly long lasting. It lasted more than 30 hours. And I could smell it on my shirt after washing and ironing it. I can really appreciate long lasting perfumes so I ended up loving it, although I did not like it at first.
im whit Tuturudka one this one , smells like inscens sticks , but in a good way.
not shure i can pull off a bottle of this , but a tester i have got and thats a treasure for shure :)
Very autumn scent to me , warm cosy. but not all me .
very different then i imagined it to be
Soir de Lune is a throwback to a genre whose heyday was the 1970s-1980s: the heavy rose chypre. Maybe it's a tribute, maybe it’s an attempt to revive a faded genre, but it lands squarely in the company of Ungaro’s Diva, Sherrer’s Scherrer, Lauder’s Knowing, even Paloma Picasso’s Paloma. It’s often compared to L’Arte di Gucci, which I’ve never tried.
It is as substantial as the others in the genre, but not as pleasing. It comes off as strong but simple, blanketing but not shadowy like the best of the rose chypres. I can’t actually say the balances are entirely off, but they aren’t inspired. The moss seems forceful but not deep. The citrus topnotes don’t lead into the rest of the perfume. The spices don’t lend richness. The rose is…well, it’s there.
SdL doesn’t reach the heights of the genre that its predecessors did. Perhaps its failings are due to the restrictions on ingredients that made the older rose chypres so robust and full. Fortunately, the chypre genre is forgiving, and while not breathtaking, SdL is not unattractive from any angle.
To my nose it's like a vanilla indian incense sticks. The same scent I can get in every indian shop, I like the frag, but there's something annoying me.
This perfume is lovely, very elegant and feminine. It reminds me of Jil Sander Bath and Beauty in a way, although it has been more than 15 years since I smelled that one. Lasting power is great! Put it on at 6 in the afternoon yesterday and could still smell it this morning when I woke up.
Only like the beginning, when burst of fresh notes seems promising. The top notes goes off in a blink of an eye. Fast and furious. After that it went too peachy, rosy and honeyed like. The mid and base notes develops badly on my skin as it goes sour and sweet. There were also certain notes that I couldn't compromised in the composition, the significant stale smell of rose combined with honey. Perfectly a turned off for me.
Soir de Lune is classic, warm and elegant, but as much as it might worked well in other people, unfortunately it doesn't suit my happy and bubbly personality. However I think this could be a very nice gift for my mother as it radiates warm and cuddly motherhood feelings.
I own Soir de Lune and Eau de Soir. I know that some people tend to compare the two fragrances, but there really is not a comparison at all. Eau de Soir is "green" and fresh, while Soir de Lune is warm florals. I rarely wear either of the two, because I think they are fragrances with an intent or purpose. What I mean by this is that they are both very "rich smelling" fragrances, that are not meant to go walk in the park LOL. I would wear this to events, possibly church, or any conservative event. They are both classy fragrances that are meant for a woman who is decked out, hair done, great outfit, and confidence to match.
a very rich and heavey perfu thats what i luv about it its realy weird that i share this perfu with my mum its very expensive but hey am goin to buy it from harrods ok lets return to the maine subject soir de lune is not what ur goin expect from this line its very diffrent than the other perf in this house its not sweet at to me its smell like orange blossom and staranise very unique its a love or hate perfu
This fragrance is somewhat of a "sister" to Sisley's "Eau Du Soir", only somewhat more feminine, less spicy, and more wearable in the warmer weather months. I didn't care much for it at first sniff, but it is a fragrance that slowly grew on me the more it mingled on the skin. The strength and lasting effects are superb. The bottle is incredibly beautiful- the fragrance is incredibly beautiful. Is is worth every penny, as this fragrance smells far from cheap. If you are a mature woman who really wants to stand out and feel special to yourself, try this one.
This is real masterpiece. I found it last year in the Munich airport. I sprayed it twice on my wrists and during long fly to Seoul I was very impressed. It changed a little but the projection and viability was unbelievable. Almost 11 hours later perfume was so strong as in Munich. During way back in Seoul I did the same experiment again and few people in the plane asked me what I’m wearing because smell was heavenly beautiful. Than I realized that Soir de Lune is classified as feminine fragrance. Anyway I don’t care because in my opinion fragrances don’t have sex and this masterpiece is waiting on the list for purchase ASAP.
I don't normally go for chypres, but I do like this one.
I bought it on the strength of one testing (which I wasn't 100% sure about) because a very enthusiastic saleswoman gave me the most emotional sales pitch I've ever witnessed - all in Russian! My Russian language skills are basic, and I struggled to keep up with what she was telling me - I'm sure I misunderstood a lot of it - but I felt she'd put so much passion into her description that I just had to buy it!
As it happens, I was not disppointed - I love the slightly peppery jasmine and lily-of-the-valley notes. I find it quite a sparkly and cheering fragrance - a real 'feelgood' perfume!
Quite different from some of my perfumes.
In my view, it's not for young teenages. It's for fascinating woman who fascinate people with her internal demeanour.
The scent is elegant, intense. And I love it very much.
Fresh and sour. Not my type.
This smell doesn't irritate me, doesn't smell cheap for sure.
After reading all the glowing reviews, I got my hopes waaaaay too high, and got a mini of Soir de Lune on eBay.
I am not sure if my mini has gone bad, or is it my body chemistry but, kidding you not, it turns into a revolting, well aged cat piss-like stink on me no more than 10 seconds after application.
It does smell ok when sniffed right from the bottle but, on my skin, zOMG... total barforama.
To make things worse, it has a tremendous staying power. But, hey, if this one works for you, that incredible staying power would be a very good thing, non?
So, if anyone is interested in a mini of Soir de Lune, PM me; I will be happy to part with it.
Soir de Lune (EDP)
Wonderful fragrance from start to finish, one of those perfumes that know to please the woman who carries and at the same time collects cumpliments in her path throughout the day.
Elegant, sweet and feminine from the opening (without excess citrus, slightly spicy, sophisticated yet fun), evolves rapidly through the chords floral core (mimosa, orris and jasmine are very well balanced with peach and pink I believe is the secret of its charm, tenderness aroused when used with the confidence that it does not lacks glamor), where we began to perceive the perfect solid base of musk and woods (enriched with honey and plant essences seal of the brand). Something really difficult to find in a floral chipre that has so many green notes, deserves the credit and more.
-I've found the bigest longevity on market (24 +) and superb sillage in this one. Unforgettable perfume to acclaim and feel free of being happy and beautiful: a real woman, as we all are.
I am know for this fragrance,I work as an international Flight Attendant. On countless occasions passengers have asked the name of my scent they say it so pleasant every time I walk past.I work 14+hr flights and only ever add a small spray prior to landing. This perfume doesn't work for everyone, my friend bought it and re-gifted to me because she said it smelt hideous on her.
If I had $1 for every time someone male and female asked me where to buy this fragrance I think I could possibly afford a couple more bottles.
My crew always say they know I'm near because I smell so beautiful and yes that is some compliment.
I love it. Very feminine and elegant. And verrrrry classy.
How beautiful this one is, much better than eau du soir which turns sour on me. Very long lasting. I can smell lemons and roses here. Very nice.
I wear for 2 or 3 days the Soir de Lune and I am more and more captured by it. It is definitely not a love at fist sniff, but it is a promissing bond between us, it knows me, I learn to know it, it respects me, it brings out the best of me... it is elegant and not at all strong or suffocating, it just makes a nice statement, unique, a little bit cold and severe at first, but then a familiar smell... I totally disagree with those who find Soir de Lune strong or difficult to wear.Ok, I admit, it is not for everyone(I am fortunate it is for me), but it can be a signature scent, it is an unforgettable one. In addition, I cant understand how some people cannot smell the honey, when this ingredient could be the most dominant and therefore, annoying to someone. After 20, 30 minutes it s really nice, a little bit sweet but not like angel, discrete... it reminds me of nature and woods. In conclusion, what I find really interesting in this perfume is that you dont smell like you are wearing perfume, rather than something natural, that is why I think Soir de Lune has the best ingredients,it could be perfect for those who suffer from allergies etc... I think it is the only perfume that didnt make me chock(although I put a lot of it!!!). The second feature is that it is a unique scent which you dont smell elsewhere, therefore it could be an unforgettable signature perfume. I think it can be worn either in the winter either in the summer...and it can be an alternative to Eau du Soir from time to time... I prefer Soir de Lune, I think it is more refined but less powerful, whereas Eau dU Soir is more brutal but more strong...stays with you forever... I am really happy with my purchase and I am planning on purchasing more perfumes from sisley...that they all have a natural feeling
I am in love with this fragrance............it is so beautiful.....I retried it today, and I feel like I am in adream when I wear it, like a fairy princess no a fairy queen!! It smells like real perfume, not like the watered down kinds that have been remade and reformulated with a different name but all smell the same. No this is chic elegant but I feel it has an edge to it also, I am wearing jeans today and still feel it fits with what I am wearing. Not everyone can wear this and because its so expensive, not many buy it. I am 32 and I feel I am the right age to wear it, it smells grown up and I am happy I can pull it off!! This will be my next purchase for sure!
Great lasting power, only need 2 sprays! Which is nice , it lasts and lasts.......9/10
If the Chopin Nocturne No. 13 played by Arrau had a smell, it would be like this. I do not know what's on the pyramid, but I feel and want this one at once. Velvety, melancholy, romantic, soft, persuasive, driven by a barely restrained passion, as hot as the hand of a loved one you hold in a cold night under a starry sky ,where a crescent moon winks and lingers in the blue, lazy and languid.
I like Soir de Lune very, very much. The problem for me is that it's very expensive. I would like to have an example to say something else.
the more espectacular perfum that i know!!!!for some special moment, femenine but heavy!!! i love it
In my opinion, Soir de Lune has a rather good idea tainted by a flawed realization. It evokes a dreamy atmosphere, reminiscent of Marc Chagal's paintings, Corto Maltese in Venice, or maybe even stark surrealism of melted clocks from Dali's paintings, but it is way too sweet like a pancake stuffed with sticky honey. There is too sharp a contrast between spiritual and surrealistic intentions characterized by an elemental and even minimalistic dualism of fresh iris and sweet and gooey mimosa, and rather down-to-earth materialistic smell from grandma's kitchen, even with a whiff of nutmeg and pepper oil to top it. If there had been fewer notes it might have been better and the idea could have been better transposed into olfactive reality. In my opinion it is much sweeter and heavier than Eau de Soir, which is a real chipre. The warmth doesn't make up for it.
Soir de lune is for my opinion more chypre fruity than chypre floral fragrance. Strong, heavy ,opulent and sumptuos.
Louder than Eau du Soir which is valid "less is more", this one is "more is more". Fragrance with 1000 notes.
Composition is without doubt good, but peach is stand out with strong honey note.
A little sticky. Too honey for my taste.
Bohemian scent.
Very strong and reminds me Paloma Picasso very much..I think it has to be used in tiny quantities..Good to wear in winter, when everything is cold and snowy..If you get the snow where you live.
i love and will buy a case of anything under the chypre banner. i've almost never been disappointed. a good chypre is the only group that combines vast, imaginative combinations of scents from every other olafactory category. then, with the very limited materials that define the type and lots of magic, turn it into that unmistakable thing called a chypre. it seems to me to be almost impossibly complex, and the basenotes that define the category are so bloody overwhelming producing a good one is a piece of alchemical genius. and yet, there are so many good ones, and even great ones. i'm amazed, and grateful. ok chypres exist, but no one knows their names. they're just chypres. and bad chypres, i guess the nits read the basenote ingredients, figure how hard can it be, and motivated by the urge to join the most exclusive club of talented perfume makers that exists, they throw some oakmoss on left over porkchops and throw the mess in a blender w/some vodka.shame on all of you. chypre fraud should be punishable w/mandatory jail time.
and just when you think that the chypre has conquered every olafactory territory out there, it discovers a new one.
ladies and gentlemen, i give you the "Cocktail Chypre".
tonight we proudly serve, for your pre-dining wining, the very first, and only member of this new group that has the potential to have an entirely full bar when next we meet. ladies, you may not want to drink her, but you will find you need to where here, the classic "Dry Sherry Chypre, Cocktail Chypre No. 1"
soir de lune is magnificent, and tho' i know all of us are different blah blah blah, i DO NOT get how this is a difficult fragrance to wear. i get the idea that someone might not like it, but i don't see how this one is a challenge.
while i would love this fragrance for the fragrance alone, this one hits me in a most personal way. if you're intersted, take the a day or 2 necessary to read this whole review. but if all you want is my take on the fragrance sans anecdotes, i can add only one more detail. i DO get the honey now, sweet sherry makers, take note. (sweet sherry, as it now exists, MIGHT have medicinal value if you've swallowed lethal poison and need to induce vomiting. i would prefer to lie down, cross my arms on my chest, and compose my countenance into one of serene acceptance of my fate.) dry sherry and a tablespoon of honey. i loved it when i only smelled the sherry (i don't, by the way, drink sherry - can't stand the taste.) and i love it with the mixture of both. now go away and let the literati carry on.
i don't smell ANYTHING that doesn't remind me of two ubiquitous comments heard twice daily in my grandmother's home, and one of them is positively spooky as it anticipates the actual name of this perfume.
between 11:30 am - 12:00 pm, my father would boom: "the sun's over the yardarm. who wants what to drink?"
my grandmother was born to a boston brahmin family in 1895. any good i have at all i absorbed from this most remarkable woman, who stuck around for 97 years. she would reply, as she had every single day for her entire adult life, "i'll take a sherry, please, dear."
when i became verbal i asked daddy what that yardarm thingy meant, and he gave me a basic answer that a 3 year old could just grasp. "it means it's noon, and only an hour before dinner (YES, dinner) and time for cocktails."
if they did a wasp genetic study, i think they'd find that understanding the word cocktail is as hardwired, necessary and as lacking in conscious effort as breathing. i KNEW from cocktails.
but at night, when the meal was 2 hours away, there was NO sun, NO yardarm, and NO romance or imagination. just the boring phrase, "cocktail time." this was a magic ritual that soothed tempers, induced laughter, and made a group of opinionated, contentious, beloved wackos a lot more fun. so i decided to bring the romance into those evening hours, with a new announcement. one evening, daddy said, "cocktail time." i looked at the assemblage (which included my aunt, uncle, 3 cousins and brother, when we were short on company) with all the patronizing superiority of childhood, and said, "daddy, didn't you mean to say that the night's over the moon in the sky?" obligatory laughter and comments about the mouths of babes, more drinking than usual because toasts were obligatory, but from then on, the pre-dinner (YES, dinner again) buzzfest was announced properly. "the moon's over the night in the sky, mother, what can i get you?"
"i think i'll have a sherry, please, dear."
i don't know what flowers, breakfast condiments or other things go into this bottle of magic and memories. all i smell is that wonderful dry sherry that gran nursed while everyone else had 3 doubles of hard liquor.
my gran's exquisite house was the only place i ever felt safe and taken care of. after a few hours i could let my psyche shrink down to appropriate age; i could be a little girl.
though i was 33 when gran finally moved on, whenever i was there i always felt nurtured, protected, and valued for whomever i was or wanted to be. the house had 3 fragrances, that together, were the bepoke signature scent called 24 hillside ave. that you could pick out each individually, and also, like every great perfume, they meshed making most perfect fragrance i've ever known: sherry, beeswax, and dove soap bar hand soap.
i love the serendipity that made "soir de lune" so close to "the night's over the moon in the sky" in both words, and fragrance. a fantastic thing, the coincidence. but soir de lune a great perfume. i'd love it, even without the associations. it is still all about dry sherry, WAIT...it IS getting sweeter. not like sweet sherry, which would send me to a bucket and then up to the shower w/sandpaper. it's the honey. and it is a perfect compliment to the dry sherry.
gran scorned frills, like make-up and perfume. (the first time she put on lipstick she came downstairs, and my uncle alex said morosely, "you aren't my darling mother anymore." what an ass. but gran, like me, probably would get over the novelty real fast and choose to do something else.
tho' she never wore perfume and gave it up (if she had, there would have been a story like the lipstick chapter, and she loved to tell her stories almost as much as i loved listening to them.) she got her fragrance fix by filling her closets with chintz sachet hangers, and kept 3 (that's 3, not 2 and not 4. 3.)sachets in all her dresser drawers. (this lead me on another love rant about coty chypre and la rose st. jacques, EXCEPT I CAN'T FIND A DISCONTINUED PERFUME SECTION HERE AND I HATE THAT..."
"i'm sorry. did i type that out loud? well let's forget it. the night's over the moon in the sky. sherry, anyone? would that be to drink or to wear? or both?"
i can hear gran right this minute, with her almost english accent typical of an upper class, victorian boston woman. she' saying, "i think i'll have both, please, dear. and could i please have a dollop of honey on the side?"
soir de lune by sisley, for any day when the sun is over the yardarm, or would be if it wasn't cloudy, and any evening when the night is over the moon in the sky, which it is every night, somewhere.
This fragrance is beautiful...noble, refined, elegant, and very classy. It is not as "dry" as I found Eau du Soir, but just as sophisticated and a bit more gentle to the nose. It is lovely, long-lasting, mature, and definitely feminine. It does surprise me, and I see, others here, that this is a relatively modern scent given its quality and rich, classic presence.
Being a cyphre floral, Soir de Lune, is quite good representative of the group. As all cyphre, Soir carries distinctive markings; strong, courageous and luxuriant. And hard to handle.
It was a winter day when I came across this lovely bottle. My breath steamed in front of my face. I sat in the sun on the freezing bench by the seaside. Opulent old fashioned smell interfered my daydreaming. The kind of smell when you open wardrobe which hasn’t been open for years. You open it today. Dusty smell of wool. Bag with herbal freshener hanging in the corner. Flowers. On the top of the armoire bouquet with mimosas and jasmine. Dry. Honey jar on the shelf. I believe it is acacia honey. I dip a finger in melting sweetness. I try the honey. Think it has nutmegs as ingredient. Sweet, enormous, blunt. I dip another finger in the jar. Think it has patchouli as ingredient. Hard, vindictive, imperative. I dip another finger in the jar.
I start to loose control over my thoughts. Soir the Lune is more than I can handle.
Soir the Lune is not for faint hearted. The chypre opens up strong and warm from citrusy and spicy notes. Just as you expect it to cool down a bit, an even warmer floral heart opens up.
The floral blend of iris, mimosa, rose, jasmine and lily of the valley, together with nutmeg and coriander from the top creates a strong honeylike scent that actually goes up in my head for a while. Also, the fragrance becomes a bit melancholic from the spices.
The richness in the basenotes enhances the spicy accord at first, but in the drydown Soir de lune cools off a bit and becomes easier to wear. The bootle is amazing. It looks like THE signature scent you want to have on your dressing table. I wish it would suit me better, then I would buy it.
Lovely fragance, too strong, sweet, homey itis the most scent fot me.
Good perfume for a strong woman.10 12 hours.
This is strong and best scent i've ever worn. Long last. 12 hours.
It opens with a crispy and juicy drink of citrus and honey and delicate (mimosa, lily of the valley, as well as the others) floral scent-balanced with an old-school patchouli and peppery kick. I am allergic to patchouli, but I am headstrong...Since my eyes didn't begin to water, and I wasn't sneezing when I applied some, I thought I might like it...
But all the while the patchouli began to dominate in a terrible way...And I was going to a gathering that required a 1.5 hour car ride to get there. I stupidly left with this hellish fragrance on me, and I had to open the windows, because I began to feel nervous and disturbed. Pure patchouli is such a sharp and old, stale and mean smell. That is all I could smell! As soon as I got to the gathering, I ran to the bathroom to wash it off. When I put my wrist to my nose I could actually smell some of the delicate floral character, but the patchouli pierced like a needle-so my bare skin smelled divine after a generous helping of soap.
To help yourself decide whether or not you like/can tolerate a fragrance enough to wear it, try applying it and after some time sit in a closed car for 5 minutes. You should get a better idea of whether or not Soir de Lune is a love it or hate it fragrance......Perhaps it would be nice on others-I hate patchouli, but I have managed to be around others wearing Angel and Coco Mademoiselle and the like without having issues, but when I put those on my skin I have to scrub myself hardcore....So if you don't like patchouli, absolutely skip this one-if you do like it, you may have found a masterpiece.
Now I know why this perfume is no longer, it is really horrible, a disgrace! I bought used on ebay for 72 euros drawn from the bottle and the fact that it was rare, but it smells rotten and disinfectant for laundry. I am disgusted.
Not everybody could enjoy this perfume. It smells strong...spicy, but the scent of flowery too. When you wear this at the evening, you'll feel elegant. Some people hates this smell but when you already loves it...you are going to be loyal to this perfume. The beautiful bottle also worth to be in your perfume collections' list.
No doubt this is a sophisticated perfume that smells expensive. It takes the right women to pull this one off. I find it a bit mature because of its strong sharp sour beginning. It's a bit bitter and packs a great punch with it's initial spray. There's just too much going on with the top notes. I have to be in the right mood for this one. It's a love hate relationship I have with this complicated perfume. Don't let the first spray scare you off. If you're patient then you'll find out it's worth it at the end. Let it settle on your skin for about an hour and you'll be able to enjoy it then.
Love it. One of my three favorite perfumes yet. The honey stands out on my skin (I love the smell of honey very much) but I found out that not everybody is able to smell it or to develope it on it's own skin. Then the chypre rose and the spices... Classy and wonderful. In the opening I can smell something like a whiff from an "old lady's handbag" ;-), but this lasts only seconds. After that whiff it's pure joy.
Interesting that the previous poster compared with Chanel 19- that is my other perfume which I have been faithful to for 25 years. Soir has more "oomph" and sensuality- but I love it once it has mellowed down a little.
You have to be patient to enjoy it.
I was smothered by the top notes, intrigued by the heart and charmed by the base.
Sharp, sharp peppery citruses and cilantro at the beginning - no nutmeg, alas. Then at the opening of the heart it strongly reminded me of Chanel 19...the mixture of green notes and sweet honey. Made me think of a harsh, straightforward, too serious for her age young sophisticated woman!
Then I only could feel the bitter herbal honey...Gotta have guts to pull this one off!
In my opinion, Eau de Soir is softer and more interesting then Soir de Lune.
If I am ever going to give the name of my best perfume SdL is the most likely to be the one. Classy, a bit old fashioned, a bit modern. Smells great on my skin, lucky me :)
Warms me up in winter, with sweet acaccia honey developing into beautiful pink rose. Then there is the chypre + musk + patchouli + sandalwood combo.
I almost put it away for warmer days unable to picture sticky honey in hot summer, but smelled it just 'good bye' - and surprise, there was nothing sweet about it, just dry woody notes with bergamot and lemon. What a lovely scent!
Soir de Lune is very popular in Moscow and massively desired, to my great wonder, considering its type and price. I tend to put down its popularity to the fact that many women nowadays are longing for the “real” French perfumes our mothers prayed for. Maybe that’s why the fragrance strikes me with awe and commands sincere respect. However, I prefer to admire it from afar. I really approve of my colleague’s sillage: very warm, rich, spicy with honey touch, in one word, Classic. No doubt, such a woman doesn’t run the risk of being unnoticed. I also enjoy observing the stylish bottle on her table. On the other hand, I am sure if I put it on myself, the scent would start morally suppressing me. It does possess that kind of weight, like a monument: spectacular and unshakable, beautiful but “not alive”. A hard-set smile. A status symbol.
It is nice as casual wear, that it was one within an hour on my skin. I dont know what happened !
Beautiful perfume... reminds me a bit of Agent Provocateur Eau Emotionelle.. but teh Sisley one is much more rich and warm...
I loved the sheer bottle theatre going on here, it made me think of bohemian actors and writers, of masks and dreams. But the perfume itself was thin and lemony without any of that fruit's freshness, and a distinct dull sour underscent that made it unbearable, the kind of perfume that whines on my skin. Ugh! It has put me off trying Sisley perfumes. There are too many great scents out there and I don't have enough wrist room to waste!
Agree with Ester's comments below, I was surprised to see that this is a new perfume. When I first tried it in Sephora, I thought this was an old classic that I have never heard about.. This is a nice cyhpre scent, with lovely jasmin and lily of the valley notes.. I could not detect the honey in it, maybe because of my skin, I wish I could feel it, because it would be a more wearable scent for me if it was more sweeter and has less chypre and patchouli tones..
I had, but I have disposed , though it beautiful chypre scent - bright, with thick honey base, with wonderful red rose in note of heart. Smell unusually rich, royal. It reigned on me, but should be serve, so, I have presented it girlfriend. I regret sometimes. Perhaps, I will return to it. I don't see special similarity Eau de Soir. Eau de Soir is restrained elegant, Soir de Lune is more baroque. Without doubt bouth are beautiful.
i love it but for wear casual
I have a love-and-hate relationship with this one.
In the bottle it's heavenly, no less. There's a real "golden" feeling to it, like honey dripping with gold. It's so beautiful I'm always tempted to spray it on, although I know I'm headed for a bitter disappointment.
On my skin the richness and warmth are all gone. What's left is an overly-sharp honey note with some lemon juice around it, so over powering it makes me sneeze and itch. Probably not the best choice for me.
A great scent with honey.Very special an sophisticated.Great for special moments.
My signature scent -- the ultimate endorsement. A grown-up lady's scent, but with elegance and vigour. A classic fragrance, there is nothing old-fashioned about this. Extraordinarily long-lasting, this is a good quality scent that turns heads. The perfect complement to its equally sophisticated sister, Eau du Soir.
Such a gorgeous fragrance! It somehow takes me back to Victorian times, ladies in long dresses, walking under the summer moon. It is romantic and elegant. I think Aeternitas found the perfect word for it: magical. It is long lasting, too. A little more expensive, but well worth it.
Remind me of Eau du Soir a lot, but better mix.
It is so graceful and sophisticated. My mom thinks it's too old lady, but I love it, which actually surprises me as well. It's like Eau du Soir but meant for night time. It's astounding and magical.
A rich chypre scent with honey. It is sweet, but not overhelming sweet, like Eau du Soir, but warmer.
