Give this fragrance a chance! Nighttime combination of tangerine, maple syrup and aged patchouli creates a perfume of hippie celebrations.
It is a limited edition for the 2009 holiday season.
It is available as perfume oil in a 8 ml bottle with a glass applicator stick. The nose behind this fragrance is Brent Leonesio.
When I first applied Hippie Holidaze and smelled the maple + tangerine combo, the first thing I thought was "panettone". (Panettone, in case you don't know, is a traditional Christmas cake consumed in Italy, Brazil and throuhgout South America.)
Well, the maple syrup is quite strong at first, giving this scent a definite cakey and creamy smell. Tangerine is a very interesting citric note, since it's sweeter than oranges and lemons, but still retaining that sour feel, and this tangerine here is very real (but not overpowering as a real tangerine being peeled). These first notes bend the patchouli to the sweet side, but still a bit earthy and woody.
On average, it's very pleasant and wearable, but I feel it lacks something. Maybe a herbal (basil) or spicy (pink pepper) touch would turn this into an incontestable hit.
Longevity is good; it will stay on you for a loong time. Sillage and projection are stronger during the first 30 - 45 minutes, then it's closer to the skin.
Despite being somewhat sweet, I don't think HH goes too feminine (but it's definitely more feminine than masculine). Anyway, I can't think of any masculine scent that smells like Hippie Holidaze. It's a gourmand, so the closer I can think is A*Men and Very Irresistible (and of course Hungry Hungry Hippies, by this same house), but that's not accurate to describe HH.
@erical you should try to contact them via their site. I bought my bottle no more than 2 months ago, so they may still have it in stock.
I have to admit, when I first tried this I thought the maple syrup was overpowering and my husband thought I smelled like a pancake but after about ten minutes the tangerine came through and cut through the sweetness. It is a very realistic tangerine, juicy and tart. My favourite stage occurred about half an hour into it when the patchouli appeared but did not upstage the tangerine, while the maple syrup faded to the background without dissappearing. It stays like this for hours and I was complimented on numerous occasions while wearing this last Christmas and will definitely wear it this holiday season. When it is bitterly cold and icy outside it is almost a warm protective shield. Full bottle worthy.
I would really love to try this!!I wish that I had heard about it earlier-since it was a ltd.edition scent in 2009.If anyone knows how I could get ahold of some please message me!!
On me it starts with some kind of dark tangerine, but still a very delicious and mouthwatering tangerine. Smells really like real tangerines. The maple note is hardly noticeable on me, it seem to only bring the scent a little more sweet and warmth. The patchouli is just lovely, dark, soft and easy to like, even for people normally not so found of patchouli.
A fun and happy little perfume oil.
I like it! It's fun. Started off with primarily maple but then the tangerine became more evident as it dried down. It's a bit spicy but still sweet. Personally I'd like a bit less maple but overall, I think this oil is festive and kinda quirky. Great for the holiday.
