Rykiel Homme Grey Sonia Rykiel for men

I have been realising of late that I can't do musk, and even though the musk note in this is muted, it is relatively present in the dry down. Will have to send this one on it's merry way ... my brother will probably get it! If he doesn't use it, one of his boys probably will :o).

This one arrived this morning and on first spray it was a charmer. Pulpy sour citrus and green notes opening up to sweeter more aromatic spices and finishing on musk and sandalwood.

It was a familiar smell though and I could not work it out. As I was about to walk out the door it dawned on me. This is Lanvin Oxygene for women or maybe even YSL Baby Doll!

Oh how disappointing. It's not an exactly the same as these two but it has the same heavy, sweet cloying nature, almost gourmand but not quite. Grey is less soapy and floral with sweeter spices and overall more green and aromatic.

If you can't find this for sample then see if you can try Oxygene for women and Baby Doll as they're in the same vein.

This is very well assembled but ambiguous. Yuzu gives a bit of sourness; rosewood, orange blossom and cedar provide with balsamic but not too sweet sensations; then star anise, cinnamon and nutmeg add pleasant spiciness. It's not loud but persistent. Stays rather close to the skin but when over-applied can be nauseating and slightly chemical. I like it a lot as a intimate scent but it can be easily worn year-round with light dosage during hot weather. Average longevity (6-8h) and average silage. Bargain for this price. 8/10

Good for care refreshing!

I love the original so I recently purchased the GREY and was surprised at how muted and soft and masculine this fragrance is! I get so many compliments and it smells even better when it's layered "with" the original =o)

i bought this scent blindly and when tried it, i got the yuzu and orange notes, but the drydown smelt like red sour berries. still highly enjoyable and unique, imho.

it's wonderful! i bought it for my boyfriend, and it smells yummy. very long lasting and i would say tha it has a something unique about it. two thumbs up!
