A soft, feminine blend of fresh rose with precious musks, some of them clean and some slightly earthy, enhanced with dry ambergris and dusky labdanum. Mellow but long-lasting with nice sillage.
Perfumer's Comments: For Rose Musc, I wanted a lush cheerful rose softened by sensual musk notes. I didn't want as rich a blend as Vintage Rose, but instead a fresher rose still with a sensual base. I like the innocence of the floral notes paired with the dusky labdanum and musk.
Fragrance Notes: Rose, ambergris, labdanum absolute, precious musks.
The perfume was created by Laurie Erickson in August 2007.
Rose, rose, and rose. I'd expect more noticeable musc but it's very very weak (or not at all). Too linear and sharp.
Truth in advertising rules the day at Sonoma Scent Studio, whose ROSE MUSC is a rich rose perfume with an ambery feeling (that would be the labdanum...or does this really contain ambergris?!). The musk serves primarily to sustain the composition and is not all that noticeable—at least not compared to SSS EGYPTIAN MUSK, which is basically all musk all the time.
I like this rose perfume very much: a true rose with big sillage and great longevity but without being overwhelming at all. Definitely smoother than Tea Rose and some of the other green roses I've tried. ROSE MUSC is really about rose petals, yellow ones, I'd say. Nice. Smells great on my cat, too, on whose head I brushed a wrist and after which he was a richly labdanum-rose-scented divine feline for many, many hours...
This is a scent I need to add to my collection. I've been wearing it off and on for over a month now and just love it. I"m a fan of Citizen Queen and have it in my collection, but Rose Musc is meshing with my chemistry better. (See for yourself how these two compare; Queen adds a helping of Suede/leather, whereas Rose brings in musc)
The difference makes Rose Musc less dusty. To me Queen is Nicole Kidman (classic, refined, never offends) and Musc is Angelina Jolie (risk taker, contradictions, dangles one toe in holy water and the other in backwater.)
Musc is a womanly, sensuous scent. It caught my attention at hello and has yet to lose it. For folks looking for a Rose ala Lolita this is it
It reminds old rose with note of honey, personally I don't like it that much,I would prefer the rose note to be more fresh and shiny.
I didn't find this one too exciteing. Actually it is mainly musk w/ a hint a rose that I had to really search deep for. I like rose to be louder and sit more on top than this one did. Maybe it was my chemistry, but It didn't work for me..
