Unforgettable and ravishing, rear night blooming orchid waits past the full moon to show its beauty. Elegant and seductive, it includes sensuality of Egyptian jasmine, nuanced by tender musk and almost eatable vanilla.
It can be layered with perfumes from the same collection: Lotus Blossom for day and Red Ginger for night.
It is available as 30 ml EDP. The nose behind this fragrance is Susanne Lang.
I agree with others who said it was "too sweet". At first, I really liked it. But then about 4 hours later I happened to move in such a way that I caught the scent of it; I wasn't as happy with it as I was at first. I found it kind of nauseating actually. Oh well. It wasn't terrible at all. More bearable than some others I've smelled. Just not a fan.
eh, this was a totally boring sweet vanilla, it does smell orchid-y, but still slightly foody. It wasn't bad but there are so many better vanillas to get excited about and I just didn't find this exciting.
I don't like this. This gardenia vanilla scent quickly drys down to grassy gardenia. Similar to Henri Bendel Gardenia Vanilla.
Midnight orchid has little or nothing to do with orchids, as far as I can tell, except for the vanilla, which is an orchid product (from the seed pods). It's a very light scent with notes of indolic jasmine and/or gardenia and vanilla. It's a sweet, understated, uncomplicated fragrance that doesn't last very long. Granted, I didn't spray it, I dabbed it from a sample vial, but I think it would still be quiet even if sprayed with abandon, multiple times a day. I can imagine that this might be a nice scent to wear on a hot, humid summer night, to create the impression of smelling the white flowers in the neighbors' yard, several doors down the street.
Midnight Orchid starts with something sweet orchid nuance and something kind of sharp, and clean in the sharp way.
Soon it calms down a little bit, and the jasmine comes in. To me,this is a really nice harmonic jasmine scent here, along with the orchid sweetness, neither too overwhelming nor too heady, just a perfect hint. Strangely, it smells creamy and synthetic to me, somehow reminds me of playdoh mix with some sweet creamy teenager-targetted perfume(due to the jasmine + eatable vanilla combo?).
The drydown is much calmer and smoother. It does remind me a lot of Jessica Simpson's Fancy, the cake, the vanilla, the gourmand warmth.
If you are looking for a elegant, more traditional floral fragrance, and don't really like detectable synthetic feeling, be careful with this one. Midnight Orchid is nice, but more in a eatable gourmand way.
