This is a very interesting one on me. I have to be in a certain mood to wear it, but I always find that I like it more than I remember when I do.
Interestingly, I don't get any peach in this. What I do notice right away is the lime, and something that reminds me of pears. Not the fruit of the pear, but the skin. It's a tangy, almost masculine smell, before calming down into the base notes.
The pear scent stays constant, but I can also smell the musk and sandalwood clearly. I also get a bit of the floral notes, but they're light and not overpowering like most floral scents on me. The overall effect is very different from anything else I've tried, a bit sharp but nice.
Funny how I didn't realize the banana note at all! It has been 5 years since a friend gave it to me. Luckily I have sniffed it before and loved it before she gave it to me. It is now not in my love list but still wearable. Inoffensive, fresh and a summer scent. Great for teenagers :)
Recently, my friend sprayed a little around her wrist and accidentally sprayed on her watch (a rubber type). She was surprised that the fragrance still exists the next day, and so was I! I was like, "You're lying!" when she said "The perfume is still there!" while sniffing around her wrist.
So I can conclude that it could last longer on a.. err, rubber? LOL.
Aztique is one of the Body Shop fragrances that I bought in bulk as soon as they landed on the "to be discontinued" shelf.
I used it for work as the scent was decent enough not no make anyone around me nauseous.
I never got any of the top notes though; as soon as I sprayed it on, I got a light woodsy but fresh scent.
Lasting power and sillage are below average, but at £ 4 per 30 ml it was affordable to use more and to refresh the scent more often.
To my nose, Aztique is a proper unisex-perfume that would suit a man as well.
I quite like this fruity floral scent. A cheerful, simple scent. Funny, I never really noticed the banana note until reading the reviews here lol...to me it's just a big bowl of various cut-up sweet fruits with some floral notes peeking through to stop it from being a gourmand. Lasting power is not good, but it's okay considering its inexpensive price...Good scent for lounging about the house or as an everyday casual scent for teens and the young at heart. I like combining this one with the less interesting Velique for a more flowery scent.
The opening of The Body Shop AZTIQUE reminds me a lot of Beich's Bananas, one of my favorite candies during junior high school. Basically it's a big blob of creamy, chewy banana taffy. As you bite into it, all caution about lifting fillings from your back molars is cast into the wind. Carpe diem is the clarion call of this candy!
AZTIQUE becomes a bit more floral and woody after the brief sugar-spray opening, but still remains too sweet for me to wear as a regular perfume. Nonetheless, I appreciate this creation for its banana note, which is so seldom used in fine fragrances that I can name only a few compositions (including D&G SICILY) that contain it. It's an intriguing note, with a creamy, substantial texture, and I can recommend this particular combination for those who like sweet fruity-florals. For me, it's just a nice--albeit brief--walk down memory lane.
I just looove this fragrance!!! : ) i have a hard time finding it though...i got it in a small size that was part of a boxe set of miniature.
I really enjoy the smell it's a perfect match with my skin
A nice fruity scent. It reminds me fruity banana sweets. Fruits are not chemical like in some popular modern fragrances. Good for summer or some careless girls' parties. I think this scent is for teens firstly, but I'm not a teen for ten years and I enjoy it too ))
If Aztique was a snapshot, it would be a big family sharing a large bowl of fruit salad, while chatting in a garden of flowers.
I haven't smelt banana on many fragrances, but in this one is quite dominant. I can also sense peachy undertones, pear, and subtle floral notes. It sounds strange, but it works!
But while I used to wear this in high school, I wouldn't use it now.I can find no circumstances that it can be worn and be appropriate for a lady in her 20s. It's better for younger ages. It's lasting power is also not very impressive.Maybe this happens because the base notes don't appear at all. At least on me...
Anyway, I still enjoy catching whifs of it from time to time...Brings back beautiful summer memories...
