Alien (for women)
Designer: Thierry Mugler Olfactive Group: Oriental WoodyAlien is a magic elixir captured in a bottle in the shape of a strange object, reminiscent of philosophers’ stone or some warlock object of a deep and mysterious purple color. Its woman has to be a bit of a witch.
The creators of Aline based the composition on three main lines: warm white amber in the base, woodsy notes in the heart, and sunny Indian jasmine in the top. Alien was created in 2005 by Dominique Ropion and Laurent Bruyere.

Alien.....................
Feminine, Sweet, Sassy, Sexy, Sensual
Imtimate, Romantic and Ideal for the colder months.
There's nothing quite like it!

I agree that it does smell futuristic at first, especially if you don't know what to expect. But in the end, it is very much a modern perfume, that might remind you of the classic perfumes, such as Poison (more so if you bought a fake edition of such).
But Alien is delicious. First I smelled jasmine, but then a woody, smoky scent popped up, which made me love it even more. I don't really understand this one. It's cold, it's mysterious, distant and yet beautiful and warm. I swear I do smell tobacco in this. Amber is a given. So is jasmine, which is wonderful and develops almost instantly on my skin.
So I don't get the 'coldness' in it. The individual notes are warm. So why does it 'feel' so cold and distant? Very odd indeed. I almost want to say that it brings up images of a potions shop with a variety of sweet, likable and foul, throat gagging potions, with a fire somewhere in the distance. This one is for 'witches'. It's definitely very confident, very naughty and then becomes even more confident when the smokiness comes through.
It is definitely strong, but those that didn't like Angel, such as I did should definitely try this out. Whatever put me off in Angel, definitely isn't part of this scent. Try it. Try to appreciate it. And try not to fall madly in love with it.

But it turned out I was just getting the flu ;-)
Which was great, because I loved it from the first spray.
At first I could smell tobacco. Not the nasty smell of cigarette smoke, but the earthy, almost yeasty scent of cured tobacco. I don't know where it came from, but it was a nice surprise. I was expecting a more traditional 'womanly' scent.
Most people mention the jasmine, but I just don't get it. I mean, the jasmine is there, but it's so quiet on me. Oddly, a friend of mine tried it, and the jasmine jumped out and stayed for ages. Still nice, but you wouldn't have thought it was the same perfume. Gotta love individual body chemistry :-)
The earthy, woodsy, smoky 'tobacco' scent with just a tinge of rich jasmine is stunningly different, and long lasting.
I just spray it on above my belly button, and it sort of rises and drifts quietly; like the smoke of a distant camp fire.
One spray, no more. I reckon it would easily be overwhelming in high doses ;-)
Give it a try, and see what it does on your body before buying. I don't think it's for every body.
One thing I like about it; it doesn't seem to cling to your clothing as much as other perfumes.

I was initially surprised when I received this as a gift - the name and the bottle can be quite off-putting; however, I fell in love with the perfume the moment I sprayed it on my skin and I've been a fan ever since.
There is a whole lot of sambac jasmine and amber in Alien. It starts with a blast of something sweet that's more of a purple aura than a fragrance. The top notes seem very similar to the heart notes - that is, if there are any top notes. This fragrance doesn't change much until the dry-down, when it becomes a bit smoky and very amber-y, with just a touch of woods.
Truly an experience as much as it is a perfume, Alien is something every woman should try on her skin, to allow it to develop; the paper strip doesn't do it justice.

There's nothing mysterious about this fragrance to me. It's a pretty "obvious" scent. The jasmine is up front and center all the way. But I'll give it an hour and see what happens.

I'm crazy for this, but i continue looking for one better...
The yearning to find the absolute perfection!!!

Well, I certainly was not disappointed. Something urged me to try this on my skin rather than the tester card, and I'm rather glad I did just that.
The initial spray was not at all loud and obtrusive, which was a pleasant surprise because I expected the top notes to be somewhat similiar in strength to Angel.
Alien is quite a deep floral scent, with the jasmine creating a sweet yet powdery-like smell. I like that this fragrance isn't complex and that it succeeds in appealing to a wide audience.
This fragrance has excellent sillage and lasting power. I wore this on a 5 hour train ride and I could still smell Alien wafting around me when I arrived at my destination.
The fragrance is quite versatile. I see Alien as being better suited to colder months and night time wear, however it could adapt well to any season or occasion.
Overall, I consider Alien as being a mysterious, sexy and bold fragrance. This is definitely not a perfume for the shy.

Still love the bottle, though - Invader Penguins from outer space!

A friend of mine let me use some of her “Alien” for me to try today. So I sprayed a little dose at the back of my hand. After the first blast of intense violet has settled down, I was immediately intrigued by the presents of this unusual scent!
Intense, strange and absolutely beautiful!
The beauty of this fragrance is almost cruel! Although, “Alien” is quite heavy, it is not a warm and cozy scent. No, it is rather cool and somewhat aloof. Luring you in by its heavenly smell... but still keeping its distance. It is neither hot nor cold – nor sweet or sexy – so that it can be even worn to the office. Its “coolness” makes it even perfect for spring and summer!
“Alien” does not want to please anybody. It is not a girly, fruity “sexbomb” fragrance. It is made for the woman who does not need to proof anything to anybody (anymore) – she is self-assured and self-aware.
I don’t think that I need to mention, that I was constantly sniffing the back of my hand. I seldom did this with any other fragrance. Yes, it is true, “Alien” is not for everybody – but for the women who can put this off, this fragrance will be certainly making a leaving impression on anybody, if used in small doses.

For special romantic winter night.
Prodigy Elixir Extrait de Parfum 10ml and I use the Prodigy Showers and Prodigy Body Cream. I have very nice compliments when I use this fragrance.

It is interesting, and would definitely turn heads, but I doubt I'll buy any more.

btw I hated Angel...so those who don't like Angel would probably like this one!

ok,all I get at the first sniff is a very warm and pure jasmine(without even looking at the notes),very provocative, sweet and warm.I think it gets it's warm scent from amber, but personally I don't get any woodsy note.
don't trust the simple compositions,it's really sophisticated and there's something in it that reminds me "ultraviolet" by pacco robbane.
in fact if you don't consider the name and the shape of bottle,I don't really think an alien would smell like this, but ultraviolet, which is somehow similar in shape and sense have the similar smelling.so maybe everything related to the alien world smells like this, but I doubt.
by the way, there's no doubt that it's a very good perfume.

By the way after a couple of hours after you apply it - the weirdness kinda go away and the scent becomes flowery and for my taste more pleasant.

Hey what's happening to me? Was I cocky this much or am I transforming into an ALIEN ;)

Great for winter days, lasts all day and if you are careful with it, it can easily be worn in the office, as it stays close to my skin and makes me feel comfortable, like aroma bubble around me.
Dark, sweet, a bit spicy, I am in love with this one!

Intense blast of jasmine but settles perfectly with woody and ambery mix.

I like this scents base notes and that it is long lasting.
I don't see it different, but it's fairly spicy with some flowers on a wood base, I feel I somewhere smelled it. I love it, but not having it because it reminds me my mothers perfume (which was cheap and in deep blue bottle) and Ange Ou Demon (a little bit), that's why it is no news for me.
For a difference, I can say that it is beautiful and glowing, everyone will notice you an try to sniff you.

Strong and unique.
People will notice you and comment about your Scent in a good way.
Recommended for night time!

I'm curious though as to why amber, known for its down to earth properties (which departs from the alien topic) was used? Nevertheless, the overkill of the rich, sweet and often hypnotic essence of the earthy amber in the base lingered on to the point of a less than magical ending. I found this to be a similar interpretation of the original classic of Secret de Venus by Weil but on a much lower scale.
On a positive note, kudos to the enchanting yet bizarre motif of the purple bottle As to not discredit the talent of Thierry's creations, his Eau Luminescente which possibly is more earth-friendly will be my next fragrance to sample.

I actually don't find it sexy... it's so strong and odd... on my skin I just don't like it... it is very sickening and I can't feel confident and confortable wearing it. This fragrance it's clearly not for me.
Though, it is very longlasting, strong, extravagant and unique. A very recognizable scent.
Ideal for women who want to cause some impact... no one feels indiferent to this scent!

Anyway, it's reminds me the sweetness of Classic Poison from CD....
Every Thierry parfum either for men /women have it's own distinctive scent....BRAVO!

Wouldn't wear it during the day.
Unique Scent!!!

Unfortunately lots of people seem to wear it today...

I´ll try it another time, since I have a sample, that isn´t over yet, maybe it will be different then..

I actually thinking of dying my hair purple when I have this fragrance, but I don´t think I will.
Very strong, stayingpower is great, the drydown is so nice and longlasting. I can still smell it after 10+ hour...

Initially, it smelled almost bitter. But then, after about 30 minutes, it dried down and smelled really nice on me.
