At the drydown i can smell the freesia forever, for freesia lovers this is very lovable, you gotta try this one mmmm!! I applied at 7:30 this morning with aveeno unscented lotion and it is now 1:53 pm and there is still the undercurrent of the freesia, great! I am sure i will re-apply if i go out later, but this is gorgeous just what i wanted and found it at last thanks to research done on this website for the perfect frag for me.

Just got this today after using the sample, I wanted to check out the lasting power and whatta ya know it is fantastic, simple but luscious, fragrant floral, this is kinda new to me so i am not able to identify all the notes, but i can feel (smell) the 3 different levels and it is so worth it. The opening is citrusy and you get that kind of bitter orange peel which is different but does not last long in the top note and the middle is a lovely soft floral, like spring or fall and the last notes are still floral with a soft powdery, pink ambery drydown. Not too sweet, not too orangy, and not heavy but weighty in my opinion.Just a beautiful friendly fragrance. Oh, it kinda reminds me of the old ysatis by givenchy in the 80's and I still like that but this is just more modern and clean. I believe I've found one ladies!

Stella seems to have distinctly seperate phases. On the top there is the blood orange note. I've tried twice now and unfortunately I find it reminiscent of an Orange Flavored Chapstick. Candy sweet and waxy. The heart I like much better, a sweet-musky freesia. The base is a whisper of vanilla woods, kind of typical.

I don't think that the longevity of this is very good, it lasts maybe a few hours, and it quickly arrives to the base notes.

I like the heart phase the best, but I already have a freesia fragrance that I love (Beige) and the top notes don't do it for me. I don't think I'll replace my 15 mL bottle.

i recently reconnected with my fragrantica soulmate lol and
he sent me this goddess along with several others...
so i've picked my jaw off the floor.
reader, this perfume floors me. not becuase its mcqueen complicated or vera vanilla or a mugler megasoraus.
stella floors me because of her purely elegant embrace of chic minimalism.
she is ridiculously simple, effortless style.
blood oranges in all their glory.
lilys with their curled lips.
and smooth sensual seductive sandalwood.
i will cherish this sample...

Stella starts with really delicate, sweet, mouth-watering orange upon application. Just when I thought I do like it a lot as it smells really similar to a real life orange soda, it becomes fuzzier, and spicier with a touch of woody floral. At this stage, it is strikingly similar to Lanvin’s Marry Me!, it has the sweet apricot-y plum-y jasmine blend, but much refined and not headache-inducing; also it has this Britney Spears’ Curious hint in the background, I guess it’s the freesia.

Then it goes closer to the skin, fuzzier yet tamed with some vaguely vanilla-musky hint . It’s like a rather nice midpoint between Lanvin Marry Me! and BS Curious. If you like those two, you might find Stella divinely perfect; however if ‘juice’ clean light florals isn’t your thing, you won’t miss out much if you didn’t try Stella.

I am not a citrus fan, so at the first blast of Stella, I felt this perfume would not work for me--the blood orange was strong! But the marvelous thing about Tocca perfumes is that they have distinct layers. I'm glad I gave this one time to settle because it smelled so gorgeous after 5-10 minutes. The freesia is truly lovely. I find this fragrance to be quite strong, so I don't agree with people who said it disappeared fast. I typically like heavy fragrances like Angel, yet Stella remained strong for hours on my skin. This is a great floral for sunny days and summer months.

Stella starts off with a beautiful juicy blood orange floral; as someone who normally can't wear any sort of citrus, this comes as a welcome surprise. The blood orange gradually tapers off to a musky orchid sandalwood that I can see others defining as old-fashioned, but I find divine. I'm reminded of the dry down of Bois de Iles with its warm, brown cashmere sweater notes.

Unfortunately Stella doesn't last nearly as long as BdI, mostly gone within 2 hours and completely gone in 4. I've always believed that one shouldn't have to buy the matching body products in order to have a scent last, and at $70 for 50ml Stella has no excuse for its fleeting longevity. I've had $20 EDTs last longer.

To me this is more on the fresh and citrusy side. But again it has this strong and old-fashioned vibe that I spotted from all Tocca scents so far and makes me lose interest in Tocca.

I don't think there are enough words to describe how much I adore this scent. I've started writing this a few times, and just can't hit submit, because anything I try to put together does not do the scent justice. This perfume is absolutely delightful. I want to bathe in it, eat it, devour it. If I could bury my nose in the bottle all day, I would. It is soft, light, airy, yet sweet and delicate, divine. Just when I think it is gone, I catch whiffs of it. I think it does fade rapidly, but it's still there, I just can't always smell it. Stella gets a big thumbs up for me!

Let me first start off by telling you this isn't bad smelling, just really sweet. You don't need to wear a lot (It would be over-powering) It could be because I am not a huge fan of sweet florals, but it really doesn't stand out from other perfumes to me. When I first put it on I could slightly notice the orange but now a few hours later all I smell is sweet floral and I don't like it much. I might give this sample away to someone who does like this kind of a perfume. I think it best suited for spring, summer day wear especially because of the citrus notes. One thing is for sure a little bit will last you all day so it is a good value for anyone who does like this scent.

Blood orange is framed beautifully in this fragrance. It is distinctly dark and juicy - compared to other citruses it has a very subtle floral component and feels more complete on its own. Blood orange is definitely the star, but after about an hour the florals (my nose is not trained enough to tell which) seem to be coming through a little stronger.

Sillage is meh, but better than most Tocca fragrances. As is the lasting power - strength is decent for a couple of hours, then sits weak and close on the skin for a couple more.

Stella is sweet but in a very natural way - juicy! It is grounded, never irritating. If you like citrus but don't especially love the usual brisk, herbaceous citrus offerings and are a fan of juiciness in general, you should try Stella!

Love the top notes - the blood orange is very refreshing. The middle notes are even better - gorgeous white flowers. All in all this is a very nice fruity floral.

I have to say I've seen the same composition in many other perfumes - fruity top notes and white flowers in the middle. Brasil Dream, Ricci Ricci, Dancing Ribbon and Premier Jour all have the same development. They are not exactly the same smell but they have a similar concept - start off fruity and then get into the "white" stage where tuberose or gardenia become more prominant. The base is usually musky. From that point of view, Stella is not a revolutionary fragrance but it is still very nice.

This is a fragrance I tried in a blind swap, and my immediate reaction was 'just lovely'.

Stella is soft, like a fuzzy peach sweater. Blood orange hasn't crossed my path enough for recognition, so all I can say is that this opens with a strong citrus zinger buffeted by fresch spring florals.

It has a lot of 'air' and seems to lift from the skin; it's not offensively strong at all.

My one complaint is that it evaporated in an hour. I checked the price point and saw that it is reasonble, but still, an EDP and should get more mileage.

A truly sensuous, comforting scent.

Another truly original creation from Tocca, STELLA opens with an almost chypre-like oak mossy quality which after a couple of minutes clears out to make way for blood orange and bitter orange--especially the rinds--mixed with ample concentrations of orchids and lilies. Wow. What a surprisingly nice combination. It sounds like an unseemly melange, but somehow it smells gorgeous at every stage, each of which is entirely distinct from the rest.

In the drydown, the clean resiny musk anchors the orchid and lily very well--I don't catch much freesia or sandalwood at all: they appear to be overpowered by the two assertive floral notes--but the citrus notes, too, persist, albeit in a smoother, gentler form, probably thanks to the musk with which they mingle. This really is a big floral perfume, though, as the citrus, while ever-present, really serves to complement the orchid and the lily.

STELLA has great longevity and big sillage, and I'd love to add this one to my collection. Come to think of it, I really do need a blood orange + orchid + lily perfume, don't I???

Out of my entire collection of perfumes, Stella is closest to my heart. Stella is so feminine and I always feel so beautiful and uplifted when I wear it. This is my partner's favorite fragrance on me. For that reason, I associate Stella with romance and true love. The blood orange in Stella is one of the most gorgeous notes that I have ever encountered in my life! It is juicy, fresh, clean and very robust. Upon application, I close my eyes and Stella lifts me into the sky and I land in the middle of a lush, fragrant garden on a sunny day in Italy. I am surrounded by rich, juicy orange trees, freesia and orchids. The Tuscan sun is shining down on my face as a gentle wind catches my hair. I don't normally get caught up in romantic notions, but Stella brings out the whimsical gal in me. This is truly romance, love and most certainly, the beauty of Italy, captured in a very elegant bottle. This scent is a joy to wear. It is unlike anything else that I have ever encountered. This is not a typical "fruity floral" and there is nothing synthetic or artificial about Stella. It wears close to the skin and the sillage is just right. Stella lasts around 4-5 hours on my skin, so I do find that I need to reapply at least once a day. I would like to get the solid perfume to have for touch ups or layering.

I am rather surprised that there are so few reviews for Stella and the other perfumes from Tocca. Tocca's products are high quality and well made. Stella has many scented products, including: Body cream, candles, soap, shower gel and laundry soap. My sweetheart and I both agree that we simply must have the latter to use for our bedding. It will be so romantic and sweet to wear the fragrance while laying together on Egyptian cotton sheets that smell of Stella.

I tried this as a solid perfume. It is a sort of "clear night sky" scent, but bright and cheery enough to wear during the day. Pleasant enough, and the solid perfume was only $30.

Stella seems similar to Light blue, but the "fizz" seems to come from blood oranges rather than apples as seen in Light Blue. The watery, freesia-like florals combined with the sandalwood give me the impression of a woody cinnamon base sitting beneath the fizzy orange cloud. Tocca scents have good sillage and really bloom on my skin, so one small, solid spritz is all I need - any more would be overkill. I've been milking a sample for a few weeks and, while I don't love it, I keep coming back to it.

After wearing this for two minutes today a memory arose that it took me awhile to place: the original Dior Poison! That wonderful floral powdery scent that was utterly unique until it was copied by a million companies. This isn't a copy--it's a tribute. A bit lighter but just as wonderful. On me you have to work to smell the orange but it's definitely part of the scent. I love it but it wasn't what I expected.

To me, this smells like a better version of Curious by Britney Spears and longer lasting too. So if you like Curious and want more lasting power, spend more money and get this instead

i really wanted to like this one. the notes were calling my name one day when i was in a citrus finding mood. something about orange and sandalwood just sounds lovely. unfortunately, on my skin, it just smells like soapy citrus. i won't go as far as to say dish water, but it was close. moving on to sample brigitte. :)

Tocca is another one of those 'you must find your scent' brands. I love this one. Blood orange is a really distinct flavor, no matter what your consumption and this fragrance really captures all of its complexity. I love the way the freesia and the Lily break up all of the different ways to receive the scent of the blood orange, it's like a very expensive orange julious (sp?). I love this, it's my next Flowerbomb.
