Private Blend: Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford is a Citrus Aromatic fragrance for women and men. Private Blend: Neroli Portofino was launched in 2007. The fragrance features bergamot, mandarin orange, orange blossom and amber.
Typical poorly executed synthetic neroli reeking of
methyl anthranilate- the tell tale clue is the cloying smell of grape fizzies (if you don't know fizzies, think grape koolaid- it's close). Yet another example of over- hyped junk from this line.
Tried it and did not like at all. Nothing special
An orange blossom which is sharp but has a surprising sweet powdery heart. This heart reminds me very much of my long long lost and oft fondly remembered Morny Orange Blossom talcum powder which I received from my Mum one Christmas as a child. It had a big flat circular orange plastic bottle with a spherical brown plastic screw-top and I've never seen or sniffed it since.
Neroli Portofino is an instant spirit lifter. Thank you to lovely Vickalena for the sample :).
very long lasting 4711....I love it
expensive though
This one was love at first sniff for me! I find it very uplifting. There is a heavy dose of bergamot here which adds a slightly masculine green edge to the feminine neroli, and the overall effect makes the composition feel perfectly unisex. Longevity was outstanding!!
This is gorgeous. It's one of the ones in the in line which was an immediate love at first smell. Unfortunately it's going to be taken out of the Private Blend line and put with the rest of the regular Tom Ford perfumes which is a disappointment. I hope the sales assistant was wrong about that because it deserves the beautiful brown and gold bottle. It's fresh, alive, citrusy yet classy.
I have no idea why the picture is of a brown bottle and looks so masculine. It's actually in a turquoise box in a turquoise bottle. It smells delicious. Feminine and Masculine. It's really great!
This was my third favourite tom ford private blend fragrance after ordering and testing samples of them all for the past few months. I also enjoyed Amber Absolute and Champaca Absolute. Although I believe the majority of the collection is far too masculine, this unisex fragrance was perfect for me. It is a very strong Neroli fragrance and some women may find it to smell a bit too much like a cologne but something about the mix to me (maybe the mild vanilla notes?) makes it very wearable. If you like straight up Neroli you will love this otherwise it may not be scent for you. Pity they are so expensive, I'm rationing out my samples until I can (maybe) get the full bottle!
How much Nick, send me prices for all Tom Ford fragnances.
If it weren't for the luxurious bottle and the "heavy" name of Tom Ford, ask yourself if you wouldn't have chosen another perfume less expensive, but more pleasant. I asked myself the same question when i tried Neroli-L' Occitane that i liked much more and with affordable price also. Annick Goutal's Neroli is another awsome perfume and your stomach doesn't ache by hearing the price. 2-11-09, 11.04
