Lily Prune Sublime Vanilla by Ulric de Varens is a Oriental fragrance for women. Lily Prune Sublime Vanilla was launched in 2001. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean-Claude Ellena. The fragrance features orange, cherry, plum, vanilla, amber and sandalwood.
I got this perfume in a nice little stash gifted off a freind ( which included the wonderful "Arrogance Femme" ). This one is not really to my taste . I do detect a hint of sour cherry or plum in the opening as "Sophywt" has mentioned. . . Once the overpowering cheap alcohol smell has dissapeared.
It doesnt smell overly vanillic to me . It would be better if the vanilla was stonger IMO. Its a bit vanilla , a bit fruity , a bit smoky,
Its Ok , not really bold or interesting enough for my tastes .
Up for swop if anyone wants it !
To be honest i was surprised to find this on fragrantica , as i assumed it to be a £1 shop/unknown super cheapie brand or a childs perfume.
Even more astonished to discover the "Nose" behind it has created scents for Hermes , Fredrick Malle , et al!
its great! even if it is not so expensive it lasts more than aother very expensive perfumes and the best vanilla perfume i have smell so far!!
a mi la verdad no me gusta mucho el olor de el perfume lily me parce un poco ordinario no tiene suavidad ni sensualidad

A year or so ago, I read some chatter on the Fragrance board about Lily Prune Fruity Musk. It sounded lovely, so I set out to search for it, but instead found Sublime Vanilla. I go through little spates of wearing it, so thought it was about time for a review... It’s gorgeous! I can’t stop sniffing my arm when I wear it. It's a sugary vanilla, very slightly powdery (I'm guessing from the heliotrope?), and the amber and sandalwood in it make it just divine. It’s light and airy, but also a touch earthy and sensual. Long-lasting too. The other notes are (from what I could find on the internet): cherry, plum and orange. I can't really smell these fruity notes individually, but there is a touch of fruitiness there. Such a lovely scent, and it's evoked some compliments too!
I noticed this one only because the nose behind it is the famous Jean-Claude Ellena. He workd for UDV for at least three perfumes including Sublime Vanilla.
Sublime Vanilla is not that vanilla-ish as its name suggested. It starts very foody, sour cheery and plums bring lots of sweetness, and smells sticky enough. The hint of vanilla is wrapped inside that sticky sweetness. On me, it's even a bit smokey(maybe sandalwoods?), but when settles down, it's quite soft and cozy. And still, you won't find clear vanilla notes, you can only smell the hint of it now and then.
It doesn't work well on my skin, my body chemistry seems always over-highlight the sweet part of the perfume. well, I think this is perfect for young girls. Its price is quite low and the smell is not bad(maybe it works on you perfectly).
