Varens Original Oriental Night by Ulric de Varens is a Oriental Woody fragrance for women. Varens Original Oriental Night was launched in 2008. The nose behind this fragrance is Pierre Bourdon. The fragrance features carnation, woodsy notes, cardamom and resins.
This comes very close to Feminité du Bois, but since Oriental Night is really cheap (FIVE Euros!) - you cannot expect it to be made of top quality materials, thus it fades away quickly. Nevertheless quite a discovery - and a bargain at this price.
This was my substiute for "Feminité du bois" by Shiseido. Now this as well is discontinued...
It isn't exactly the same, but the essence of the 2 is very close. It's dark, spicy and at the same time balanced and a bit with a twist.
It lacks the honey-wax sweetness of the famous one and like the rest of the line serious staying power. It held only 2,5 hrs - very disappointed about that.
