Baby Rose Jeans by Versace is a Floral fragrance for women. Baby Rose Jeans was launched in 1995. The fragrance features sandalwood, mandarin orange, violet, freesia, vanilla, hiacynth, neroli and lily-of-the-valley.
I had a wrong idea of this scent due to de reviews saying it reminds baby powder, it is a baby ou childish fragrance. I think people get wrong ideas of this perfume because of its name. "Baby Rose Jeans" for me has nothing to do with babies, nor roses, it is just the color of the package. They have yellow, red, blue jeans, this is just the color baby rose.
Is is a floral little powdery, little sweet, strong at the beggining, but then it gets softer. I like it to use during the day in summer/spring, but don't spray a lot if you are getting close to people in the first hour. It can be overpowering.
My mother smelled hairspray when I wore Baby Rose Jeans, but sniffing on my wrist, she said the smell was better.
It's definitely not chic or glamorous, not for an evening out.
It gives me homey, safe and before-noon feeling. On me it's mostly hyacinth, violets, lilies-of-the-valley and powder. I'm not a fan of powdery scents, but this one I can bear. It's casual, good for a morning screening or going shopping. I like it, but I'm not crazy about it.
I got this when I was 10 and liked it. I remember it being very flowery sweet, powdery, and soft. I didn't like it quite as much as my fruity body splashes, but it was special to me because it was a real EDT fragrance. My dad bought it for me while he was in Mexico. I have found memories of this fragrance, it's a good light floral that will make you smile.
A big disappointment! Smells just like air freshener:( and it smells so cheap..
Is this fragrance still available or has it been discontinued ?
Because I can't find it and, when I ask for it (this one and its "Baby Blue Jeans" brother) in perfumery stores, the answer I get is that they are dicontinued ..??
Not for me! But the adorable containers make it almost worth the impulse buy! I was longing for the powdery "Loves Baby Soft" aspects mentioned in these reviews....on me it simply smells like a vintage floral perfume. The $3.99 Dove Rebalance body spray I bought the same day is a winner though, lol!
So disappointed in this. I was lured by talk of 'baby powder' and 'freesia' but don't smell either in this. It's a rather strong, loud, mishmash that quickly fades to nothing. Reminds me of some kind of canned air freshener or household product and also does smell like a relation of the fruity 'Red Jeans'. Love the bottle/tin/name but for smell, the only one of this range that I really like is Yellow Jeans so I'll stick with that.
Although this does have the word baby in it, I don't think that it is intended for babies. I think they used it more as a descriptive word because it is a soft and delicate floral powdery smelling fragrance. I don't smell roses in this at all. I can smell the freesia in it as soon as I put it on because intially I found it overwhelmingly sweet, but that only lasted 2 min. or so thankfully. The blast of sweet mellowed to the powdery violet and lily of the valley. It smells old fashioned, and brings to my mind immages of Victorian days. The bottom notes are soft sandlewood and vanilla. It would be a perfect first fragrance for a girl/teen (though any age can wear this) because it is not too strong, and I doubt anyone would have an objection to this. I put a lot on and still I could only smell it when I put my nose to my arm. If you are looking for a strong fragrance this isn't it. I think I am more neutral on this fragrance but I put it in my likes. I could see myself purchasing this at some point though because the price is very good! It lasts a little more then 4 hours on me. I can still smell it but not really well.
this is a dead ringer for oscar by oscar de la renta. maybe a little less strident but def the same. that's a real shame as i don't like oscar. i think the lily of the valley note is the most prominent for me, toned down a little with the rose. cute bottle and good house but just not me.
NABOKOV´S LOLITA IN A BOTTLE: Genuine baby powder, lily of the valley, vanilla and pink candies. Cute as hell and sweet as heaven.
Warning: Enormous headache potential!!
If pink had a smell- this would be it:)
* Office Safe - 10/10
* "Headache" Factor - 7/10 - start with a small spray; it's floral so the headache potential is there.
I get NO candy smell in this whatsoever. Baby Rose Jeans is all about soft, gentle and pretty. Freesia, violet and a tiny bit of vanilla and sandalwood is how it smells on me. This reminds me a bit of Love's Baby Soft, but it's MUCH more elegant and refined.
If you're looking for a "big statement scent", keep looking... this isn't for you.
If you:
a) like soft floral or cotton blossom-type fragrances or
b) want a safe fragrance for the office or
c) are looking for a pretty, light, versatile warm weather scent or
d) need a "safe" fragrance gift or
then I suggest that you try out this darling little scent.
I really like this. Tried on about a year, but I got tired.
Now I give this for a birthday present, specially to 4-10 y.o. girls, and they like it a lot.
i havent smellt this but apparently this was lady gaga's childhood scent
i love this. its a soft feminine scent. a light rose powder. it just smells so good on. unfortunately you have to reapply quite a bit. it dosen't last long, a little over an hour on me. i still love it tho.
I LOVE THIS!!!!!!
smell like pink powder to me , sweet . i love it !!!
This reminds me of candles it has a waxy smell to me could be the violet. I wear this in my hair and I can smell it all day. If however, I spray it on my skin it does vanish quickly. I will always have a bottle because now I have found a way to get it to last. It reminds me of red door revealed in the pink bottle which I also have and like. If you like soft pink powder smells then you would like this. You will need to spray it on clothes, scarf or hair to get it to last that for me is the only problem. I find in Australia it is hard to get the red jeans is everywhere but this one not so much anymore.
What a lovely perfume. The first spritz smells of violets, hyacinth & baby powder and I was a little worried the floral scent might be too "old-lady". Once the perfume settled on my skin, I had a very light scent of violets & baby powder. The scent has no sillage or staying power on me. And while I would not buy another bottle, I do believe Baby Rose has some great points. This is a wonderful perfume for those who don't want their perfume to draw attention to themselves & want to have an inoffensive scent. This would also be a great perfume for a young girl...feminine without being overwhelming. An elegant alternative to Love's Baby Soft if you will.
And as for some of the reviewers claiming Baby Rose smells "cheap", this smells better than any drugstore body splash, so I am going to have to vehemently disagree on that point.
Just bought a mini on Ebay to sample it. Very feminine and soft. Opens with the freesia and violets twirling together, then the hyacinth waltzes in. The procession trails into an ending when oh-so-sweet lily-of-the-valley and fresh powder tango on the skin for hours. I love it! 4 Stars!
I smelled this fragrance today and to be honest it smells like women's deodorant and has a dry down of baby powder.
Baby Rose Jeans starts quit sweet, berry grape kinda fruity and all of a sudden, there’s this smoky/incense-y/powdery smell comes off. It reminds me a lot of some gothic dark candle-smoke-y myrrh dominant new age kinda essential oil, but Baby Rose Jeans is much less potent—it’s like a veil version of that kinda essential oil. It stayed this way and quite close to skin for one or two hours, and then I can’t really smell much of it, only a little bit residue left on the skin when you sniffing really hard.
It’s a barely-there perfume, nearly no sillage, and not very much lasting power. Nice, polite, but somehow I just don’t find it cute enough, or have any personality to make me keep one.
lovely, soft, not-in -your -face scent, calming and gentle.
Always wanted to try this and I was delighted with this fragrance. I personally find it soft. light and gentle. A fragrance for day wear, that smells of soft violets and jasmine, freesia. The drydown is just lovely sandlewood and a whisper of vanilla. I think that this perfume has been beautifully crafted and i find it rather comforting, it must be the sandlewood. A lovely, light soft gentle fragrance, perfect for days when you want that gentle touch of a fragrance. I find it perfect for any age group and not childish in the least. Also a very economical fragrance that is gentle on your budget.
It's a soft and nice floral. I like it.
You can really smell the violets, It reminds me of childhood. It's an everyday wear.
This fragrance can be a great gift for your teenager daughter. I guess it would make a girl very happy when she's around 13-15. Soft, light, girly, powdery and minimal. Nothing exceptional but would be a light transition for any teenage girl in need of a little bit motivation to acknowledge her beauty.
It is a mediocre fragrance for 17- girls...
If you take Versace Red jeans, sweeten it up 100% then dump loads of vanilla on it. You get this. Baby Rose Jeans.
It's a soft sugar coated floral that lasts about 5 minutes before I have to re-spray again.
It smells like a childs play perfume and it's not horrible or anything, it just smells...well...MEH! Just a bit boring and generic.
The main flowers I can smell is violets but the're they're just beaten into submission by a truckload of sweet sugaryness.
When this perfume is dry and nearly faded out completley it actually gets a bit sharper and some of the sweetness goes, this is when it smells most like Red Jeans.
Would never buy this scent.
My sister had this fragance, everyone in the family told her to get rid of this nasty perfume,it gave everyone a headache, very sweet strong scent....... i dont like it
I always liked how the Versace Jeans series looked since I was a teenager. When I saw this cutie, although with missing lid of the container at TJMaxx, I wanted to get it.
It does look adorable! BUT, it DOES remind me of feminine products that you will find especially in Europe. So, you get the idea..:(
I was hoping to love it though.
It must be just me judging by the reviews but this reminds me of the one by D&G. It is not the same by any means but every time I smell one or the other I think of one or the other if that makes sense! I spray baby rose in my hair I have shortish hair so I can smell it all day. If you have really long hair that may not work. I only discovered this after constantly spraying it and it not lasting. I tried it in my hair around my ears and it lasts. It is powdery with a reference to babies but I think you can wear it and it is pleasant it;s nothing compared to Van cleef and Arpels First or Channel No.5 etc but it is nice.
This scent is so light it`s almost invisible. A floral whiff for about 15 minutes, and that`s about it.Transparent violets,Johnson baby soap,a touch of lily of the valley.Nothing special, but quite nice and it does not smell cheap.Proved itself excellent in some hot summer days, when everything else seemed a torture.
This fragrance was like my first! It's so clean, warm and soapy. Perfect for babys and little girls with acttitude! Sometimes I still wear it but my boyfriends always end up saying I smell like baby ass :P
This has become my current go-to scent in this summer's record heat. It's light, gentle and sweet and stays pleasant no matter how sweaty I get. It reminds me of violet chewing gum - if there's any note that stands out a bit on its own, its the violet to my nose. Really, it's quite well blended. The sandalwood is a whisper, and just gives it a touch of powder.
No, not great sillage, which is not always a bad thing - something I find particularly unpleasant is standing in line at an amusement park (or wherever) in 90 degreee weather and catching a clashing mish-mash of really strong perfumes - bleaaahh, hello headache. This does not add to it!
i wear this to work and ive had many adult women, one even 60years old with a prefrence for chypre fragrances give me compliments and say i smell like vanilla, she was even intrested in buying it. Another woman asked me what im wearing and heard how cheap i got it and said she was off to purchase it as well. Im a big fan of voilet and now on my second 50ml bottle. Im 24 and i absolutely have fallen head over feet for this fragrance IMO not only for the young one's; seems to be genrally apprecitated by all ages. Not for the lovers of POISON but im not a lover of those types anyhow. Soft sweet and special
Bought it on internet coz the notes apeal to me. But when I smelled it wwhat a dissapointment. very childies smell
It's a cute powdery lovely sweet goodness!Violet, candy and sandalwood, yumm! I don't think it's too childish at all it's a nice comfort smell for anyone. Very very soft with little sillage yet lasts for about 4 hours on me.
The bottle in the pic says Versace my bottle I got at Perfumania says Versus Baby Rose Jeans? I am confused is it still Versace? It smells good though I also prefer this to Red Jeans. The bottle is soooo tiny but cute!
whats the difference between verses and versace baby rose jeans?" I am confused.
OMG I wear it just like I'm surrounded by a lake of candies. Tooooo sweet for me.For baby? I don't think baby need any perfumes, they have the best scent.
I got it today.Nothing special, light powdery rose scent with no lasing power at all.Not worth buying ,althoug is very cheap. There are much more better powdery rose scents out there. It is so not lasting that my 50ml will finish for two days:((but it is nice
The packaging is so cute and the fragance smell like spring.. Versace do a great job making this fragance for teen girls.. Maybe for a 9 years old girl this is ''The fragance'' but for me is just a nice floral.. Paris Roses Enchantees by Yves Saint Laurent smell so similiar, and I personally think is better, cuz it has more powerfull fixation.. Don't pretend that this fragrance lasts more than three hours.. But this tiny parfume can stay in your purse and can be use every time.. Especially in days of picnic party ;)
Gentle, powdery, sweet roses. It's very elegant, classic fragrance. Not one of those refreshing-aquatic-summer scents (i don't have anything against them, i even like them. Just a way of illustration), but non-offensive at all. This can be worn in autumn or winter seasons as well as in spring and summer. Suitable for all ages. A bit nostalgic, reminds me of old times.
I purchased it unsniffed and got 100% what I'd expected. Though the first time when i tested it on my skin, it seemed sweeter than it really is.
I was leery of trying this because so many people described it as powdery, and I am so not a powdery kind of gal... but I retract that statement. This is beautiful.
Wearing Baby Rose Jeans is like... wrapping yourself in a chenille robe, cuddling a stuffed animal, putting on your mother's makeup. It is all things comfortable, soft, and girly.
This is a scent I could slather all over myself, honestly. It's that good. I don't smell any particular top, base or bottom note progression... from the beginning to end, this is a fragrant - but never sharp - rose bloom, garnished with powder. While powder is normally the bane of my existence, that's not so in Baby Rose Jeans; the powder here softens the rose.
When I say this is girly, by no means am I insinuating this is for young girls. This simply reminds me of my younger days, the smell of my mother's vanity as I rummaged through her drawers. This is decidedly the scent of a feminine woman, though light enough to perhaps be worn by a younger girl.
Sillage is modest. You'd have to hover a few inches from someone's skin before you'd smell this. But that makes it all the more intriguing... it's delightfully cuddly.
Lasting power is great, I easily get several hours out of this. Highly recommended for people who want to love rose but fear it might be too sharp, or who are afraid of powder in their florals.
Creamy, pretty rose.
When I first started becoming interested in fragrances this perfume kept catching my eye and begging me to try it. When I first tested it, I decided it wasn't for me, however 12 months on I feel that my tastes have changed and that Baby Rose Jeans is more appealing than ever.
I initially didn't like this scent because it wasn't very strong, but now that I've learnt to appreciate softer scents I see Baby Rose Jeans as being delicate, sweet and powdery.
I would feel very comfortable wearing this scent because it isn't loud and strong like a majority of the fragrances I own. The scent when worn on the skin is quite intimate, feminine and clean-smelling making this perfume perfect for casual outings.
The scent is a cross between a bed of roses and baby powder, not a very unique combination I must admit, but very beautiful and soft.
I believe that this would make an excellent perfume for first-time wearers and young teens. It is non-offensive, light and fresh; perfect for those younger individuals.
This was my introduction into the world of parfums at age 15...i adored it. I got the 1.7 oz bottle twice; that's how much i liked it. I don't know what happened since. I developed more of a taste for woody orientals and gourmands at least for now, but i think i might have to revisit an old friend.
Don't be put off by the name. Baby Rose Jeans is a great adult comfort scent. Pretty creamy rose floral. I sometimes wear it to bed.......sweet dreams!
This is so pretty.I was a little frightened to try it after my experience with white jeans but this is a very nice scent.Very non offensive.
It also make's me smile & to be honest I might have to buy the big bottle.
The floral combination is perfect & even a bit sweet.Dare I say it's even Heavenly.
The way they combined the floral scents is perfect & I do not pick any one flower over the other, except for maybe a second.
The vanilla & sandalwood blend in at the base keeping the floral blend on a short leash but not letting it overpower.
It is a great fragrance for the price.I can't say that it reminds me of anything either!
You should definitely try it if you are into light florals.
P.S:It is light not in strength but in scent ;)
smells like roses and bubble gum<3
Reminds me of Soft and Dri in the pink can! lol
I have it, but not a favorite....:-(
yes, you are right dolce vitta :) This could be a very good baby perfume :D my niece love it too
A very good idea from Vesace, my baby is like me: i love parfums and this is one of the first parfums for my baby, ist casual, happy, and original dont smoot like the others like, sponge bob, or barbie... no this is very original thinking to beging smell whith class.
This is the best fragrance of the Versace's jeans line (in my opinion). Fresh, floral, distinctive... smell predominantly lilies and violets... Its so cute¡¡¡
I just got this and I like it better than the versace red jeans.
