True that the first 5 minutes (top notes) smells harsh and acrid. But after that, it smells heavenly. Sweet tobacco and ambery all day. And it lasts long too. 2 thumbs up.

A louder and more upscale Versace Blue Jeans. It is great for formal wear and extremely long lasting. It is great for romantic occasions and it is sweet, but not too much, it is rather oriental-woody-aromatic.

I've owned a bottle ever since it debuted in 1996, to replace my previous ckOne phase. Pretty good segway, considering it was light (back then it was considered a light scent), and not too serious. To this day I must have a bottle to go back to and "remember".

Another website lists the notes as juniper, lily, tobacco, amber, and tarragon. I agree with this more than what is listed here on Fragrantica.

I've always considered this a unisex scent. I barely smell any tobacco, and this scent is mostly about lily in my opinion--very floral.

If you can't grasp around a scent like ckOne, Dune Pour Homme, and Joop! Homme, you'll walk away from Dreamer.

Lately I've sampled (and now own) Thierry Mugler's Alien. I was surprised at how similar they smelled but didn't carry the heaviness of tobacco and Alien finished cleaner. Both just as potent. Alien, however, makes a fine replacement for a smoother journey into the skies!

Strange composition, a combo of ingredients that doesn't tell me what it really is. Something here pretends to be sweet, but sounds more artificial than natural. I can't get a good tobacco note. The beginning reminds me Laguna Homme, by Salvador Dali. Pretty strong and long lasting too. I tried more than once, and I couldn't like it at all.

Hands down !!! This is my favorite masculine perfume. Very romantic, classy, sweet flowery blended with tobacco and tonka bean, contrasting fresh and creamy notes. This is a perfect perfume for a real bohemian and dreamer man.

The Dreamer can become a Nightmare if overapplied. Its top notes are really strong and may induce a terrible headache.

Overall, The Dreamer is a beautifully done floral oriental fragrance for men. Although they list mandarin orange within its top notes, I can only smell flowers during the long presence of The Dreamer on my skin.

Different from any other fragrance that I know. Highly recommended.

The opening of Dreamer is a Sage-Lavender accord underneath a sweeeeeet Lily note.

From the heart, and fighting their way to the top, are more sweet florals... Iris, Carnation, Rose, Geranium. By now there are so many sweet floral notes that it doesn't even smell like flowers anymore, it has become a sweet solo beast. That many flowers together stops it from being floral and focuses just on the sweet. This borders on the amount of sweet florals I like, or can tolerate, in a fragrance. It's head is in the clouds. The reason it doesn't go past my limit is because it's not a sugary-sweet. Strangely addictive.

The base notes help to ground it a little as they steadily grow, bringing Tobacco, Tonka, Fir, and a touch of Vetiver. The sweet floral accord hangs on well into the dry down. The finale is a fading Fir-Amber accord, lightly spicy. Longevity is average. Apply lightly, it could be a monster.

I like it, for when I want something very different.
Spring, daytime.

personalmente no me gusta nada esta colonia, no la recomiendo, tiene algo que me hiere la pituitaria, hay mejores opciones, no tan costosas

Had this one 7 years ago.

The top notes were overwhelming, in my honest opinion. But the middle and base notes were sweet, and that's what I loved about this perfume.

what a fragrance!
strange, loud, reckless, dominating, recognizable.
probably for a man who doesn't take life very seriously ... can't stand any limits, but likes harmony and elegance.

my first association: Le Male, and, as perryforever wrote, Joop!Homme.
Dreamer and Le Male have lavender, tonka bean and cedar in common.
Dreamer and Joop!Homme have mandarin orange and tonka bean in common.
seems not very much, but if like those two, you should like Dreamer.

the scent is like leather and tobacco.

but I would never want my man to smell of this, it gives me a terrible headache.

I'm not sure about this one. It has a really funny smell in it's base notes it smells like talcum powder. It's in the same family as Joop (which the ex partner also wore) but I prefer the Joops

Dreamer... a very good name as this fragrance rly makes me dream. It has a heavy scent, indeed sweet, but perfect for romantic ocassions, cold days & night parties :P.

As for the notes.. it has a start that might be a bit harsh, but after the drydown it rly takes a wonderful turn. I can feel the tabacco & rose notes from the start to the very end when the woody notes come (fir & cedar) & make the scent rly something.
I for one adore it, but as a suggestion: try it before u buy it.

Very nice fragrance, could even pass as unisex really. Smells very nice on a man, it's more for romantic occasions than others because it's a bit sweet. Smelled it on one of my friends and loved it.
