Versace Man is an elegant fragrance, created for charismatic and temperamental men. It has a certain Latino vibe to it due to tobacco note in its oriental surroundings. Top notes include neroli, bergamot and angelica. Heart note is composed of saffron and cardamom. The base is ambery with labdanum, Casmir and tobacco. It was created in 2003. The nose behind this fragrance is Domitille Michalon.

very nice with dry tobacco note. Good longevity and projection
Laudan evident from start to finish. I did not like. Nocturnal fragrance, which has its attractions.
Very fine notes used, many of my favourites. Unfortunately this composition is the first that makes me nousea and headache. I wish it was different but honestly I just can't stand it. Some kind of allergy, I think.
But it is quite unique from the beginning to the drydown - starts sharp-sweet, fruity-spicy, then turn vibrant and become warm, woody-tobacco, which is not that rare but the great power of tobacco leaves is something unusual here.
It smells a little like a new-opened pack of cigarretes. Quite interesting. I feel it's refined scent, believe it's even sexual but just can't experience it at all, so I'm disappointed ;)

On my second day to Christmas, my own nose bought for me, a fragrance of rarity hahaha.
Ok, I went to a mall with independent perfume stores inside. I found this rare bottle, hiding at the back of other perfumes (Armani Code, Kenneth Cole and Lacoste, sleeping, waiting for an owner to notice him. I then asked the saleslady how many stocks left, she said last piece. I asked her again, does stocks of this Man always come and go, she said, it came once, few bottles, unsure with re-stocking coz its hard to find these days. I must agree based on reading reviews here and there.
So I have it tested on my skin, went online to read its reviews again, asked wonderful members here about it, then roam to other stores if they have it on their stocks. None.
In short, I bought it. After hours, I am home, sprayed it on my arms and boom!
Initial spray was strong but non offensive great scent and projection! Well-refined.
Reminded me of slight Carolina Herrera for Men (maybe because of neroli and tobacco notes) but carries its own strength and identity.
It is spicy fruity, mild minty, sensually smoking, darkly beast and very manly for me. The oil is very visible but again, woody yet non cloying. It is a marvelous wear on cold weather, evening formal occasion, very elegant, very ideal for smokers and alcohol drinkers, a great night out party along with Aramis Havana, Givenchy Very Irresistible and A*Men. Depending on your skin chemistry, this can also be a coffeetalk, a movie date and intimate moments wear.
After the top, it dies down a bit, as if hiding and preparing its power on the heart where it becomes sexier and I am sure women would love this to smell in a man just like The Dreamer. Versace Man is addiction. For me, this is way better than pour homme and eau de fraiche but equally great with The Dreamer. Now I am more interested to hunt another rare: Versus Uomo and see if it is the greatest of Versace fragrances.
This is a 9/10 just like my The Dreamer, Carolina Herrera for Men and Aramis Havana. They are Beasts, they are very refined and affecting, all masterpieces and wonderful "womanizing" fragrances. All of them has tobacco ingredients. Interesting!
Another masterpiece from Versace. Similar to Versace Dreamer. Sweet floral with tobacco. Flower volume is turned down, tobacco is there, it is drier and more on the bitter side thanks to woody notes I guess. Opening is strong and quite sweet. After it dries down, it is a much darker cologne, woody amber. This one could have been named Versace Black. Deep is the most suitable word for this cologne. If Versace Dreamer is pink, Versace Man is dark purple. This sexy thing has good sillage and great longevity. And this one is discontinued like the other greats from Versace house. I really think that Donatella should resign!
i agree with scattolini. At first, is smells very girly... you will smell like a girly man before it dries down. :)
smells like blueberries and lilac and lavender at first. after dry down, it mellows out with a little tobacco powdery smell... reminds me of givenchy pi but less powerful and instead of the givenchy vanilla it has blueberries. What do you think? Do you smell all this too? It's fun to hear what others smell in the same cologne.
this one is so unique
i guess it is the best scent out there
with the least price
i c that it is so underrated
scent 9/10
longetivity 8/10
sillage 8/10
uniqness 9/10
overall 8.5/10
Versace have released masterpieces as Dreamer and L'Homme but I'm not conceived that it's a Versace release. It's so much higher than Versace or any indie production. It's definitely a niche one qualitatively.
First sniff I got woodened saffron with bold bitter dark sugary sexual theme that attacks to your nose!
But it's not saffron that makes it super sexy, it's tobacco. Tobacco which smells like something stored in underground for years to reach high quality by passing time. Like a bottle of old wine that is covered by spider net but inside has liquid treasure!
It's manly but not harsh; it's sensual and elegant. It's like a man who knows anything about women and their weakpoints!
Proper for fall/winter fashion and nights. So flexible; can be worn as official/formal/casual but I prefer formal dress. Specially where you wanna charm up ladies, you can rely on it!
In one word: Mr.Cool!
Update: So welcomed among The Middle Eastern and south European regions.
This is one of the sexiest men's fragrances that a man could possibly wear. Point-blank. I'm on my 2nd tour of Versace Man...
Such a nice bottle (tacky nice, I mean) for such a bad smell. Sorry, Donatella, this is not for me.
When I smell this on my skin it's amazing. There's beautiful tobacco and incense notes twining together.
The aroma that I get from the sillage is far less complex. It's a very sweet, synthetic red berry smell.
I with there were a better balance between these two aspects because the scents lasts 10 hours on me.
I find this to be a very underrated fragrance with little to no relation to Versace Man Eau Fraiche. This is not a scent you can hide, it is potent and has terrific sillage and longevity. A sweet pipe tobacco combined with a synthetic saffron and wonderful woodiness. I would most likely wear this on casual nights out on the weekend, and reserve the big guns for the formal occasions. This is a fun, accessible, and some regard it as a sexy fragrance. I have noticed that when I see Cashmere wood in the notes, I often get a smell that approaches oud, and this is no different. Lurking in the background is a deep dark medicinal wood. Also under it all is a very interesting synthetic scent...very hard to describe, but I get a similar feeling from the base of Loewe 7...an almost soapy synthetic note that arrouses interest. Give this one a shot if you like pipe tobacco.
For the record, I like this better than D&G By Man...yup, I said it!
Just kidding, By Man still is king of the smooth tobacco frags.
I have to admit that it's a very unique fragrance!
It's my third 100ml bottle already.
I like it alot :7
Its rightly named Versace Man, it smells like a well groomed, mature man. I would say 25 and up, till late 50s can pull it off. You need stubble to wear it as its a man's scent!
Causal, evening, romantic, office you name it. Very versatile and very unique scent. The silage and longevity are great, its a workhorse fragrance. Its a unique fragrance and from what I know, they are discontinuing it so stock up people, you can buy it for cheap!
Great scent, great presentation and a great company backing it! I will not let go off this in my collection! :)
this is an amazing cologne, you can smell the tabacco, guy's stock up,hard to find..

Great, sexy, unique and long lasting scent. Always makes me happy. One of the best scent I ever had. Now, I'm starting with third 100ml bottle.
Opening: Too sweet, you wouldn't be able to sniff it twice because is tooooooo strong. Feels like a french madame's perfume.
Then, it progressively settles down and a pleasant feeling takes all your nose and body, the saffron + amber + cashmere wood combination is great and does well as middle/basenotes.
To me, the mainly lefting sensation after drydown is the tobacco.
It's a quite good perfume, frenchy opening (sweety), amazing middle notes, chic, daring, nevertheless neither a manly-man scent, nor a groudnbreaking one.
Bottle: 6 / 10
Scent: 7,5 / 10
Projection: 8 / 10
Sillage 8 / 10
Lasting performance: 4-8h,depending how hot it is, of course.
X-Scattolini's factor: 7 /10
Overall: 7 / 10
very very good
my signature fragrance of all times
Of the frags I own...this is the only one near empty.
Berries! Yeah! An unusual (and mature) surprise!
I can't remember a similar good scent to "Versace Man" and that's its biggest pro. People will remember you with this scent.
By the way it ain't that sweet; it's mostly bittersweet.
Select the appropriate name for fragrances is very important and that is true about Versace masterpiece. Versace Man is strong and clear and with very high dispersion, which is very suitable for the particular event.
You can easily smells delightful spot where the tobacco leaves that feel of combined with the cashmere wood and fruity notes have created a masterpiece.
Please use caution and remember do not spray more than twice.
I like it, I would grab it at a discount for a casual, sweet smell, just to grab some noses at a friends house.
It's subtle tobacco wrapped in berries and spices.
Elegant and casual.
Simply elegant cologne love it its fresh light, you have to spray it from time to time though!
Deep and quite sexy!
Ok. First off, let me say that I LOVE the presentation. The heavy glass bottle with the light purple smoked color looks beautiful. Even the box has a leather/snakeskin feel to it. Very masculine. If only they could have delivered on this fragrance.
This was a blind buy for me as NO stores anywhere around me had even heard of this, even discount fragrance stores. Based on the reviews and my own curiosity, I went for it. I dropped $50 on this. I got it and wore it as soon as the box came in. I sprayed only once and gave it a few minutes to cool down. This fragrance from the get-go was extremely synthetic, and there was a note in there that just made me sick. I could go on and on about this, but frankly, I don't want to. I have a broken arm as I type this, and I am hunting and pecking this keyboard with my left hand.
All in all, its a syrupy-synthetic berry/leather mess that smells A LOT like a womens perfume. There is no way a guy should or could wear this. 3/10 ONLY bc of the bottle
I smell stale tobacco after 5 minutes -reminds me of 'calum' by calum best or 'inverse' by kylie . Not my favourites but this is the best out of them
I get similar impression about this one as instantjim does. Except for me it's not the tumble drier smell but ordinary washing powder. I agree that opening is very clean and fresh but at the same time it is too synthetic and artificial to me, just like cleaning products are. I think double dose of fabric softener for your clothes while doing the laundry would do the same.
What a strange fragrance. I find it so perplexing that I used a whole 2mL sample trying to figure out what I could smell. On me this fragrance is so short-lived that it is barely detactable after an hour. It starts off with citrus/spicy notes, but these quickly subside. When it has dried down it reminds me exactly of the smell of warm linen coming out of a tumble drier, which is nice enough smell, but not one I would like to pay money to experience.
have just got a new 30ml bottle of Versace Man and what a disgusting smell, not sweet, woody or even spicy. I smell like I have been in a room full of smokers, needless to say it went straight in the dust bin. Dont;t waste your money on this heap of rubbish.
This is sooooo glamorous and sexy! Its deep, and seductive guys!
A good spicy sweet scent for men. It is also similar to Calvin Klein Be, just it is more sweet and much longer lasting. Nice, but not special to me.
I just love scents that have tobacco in their composition like Versace Dreamer, but of course its execution in Versace Man is completely different. This one comes off smooth and somewhat linear but definitely contemporary. You can't offend anyone by wearing this one. Trust me.
This is a fragrance for a man with style, it is not suitable for everyone, but it is perfect for those who are looking for a distinguished, intense and elegant scent. Nice for cool weather and special evening ocasions. It is very modern, warm, sweet, spicy and absolutely sexy.
I might not like the odor of whiskey, port wine & vodka but I like Baldessarini Ambre, Burberry London & Joop! Jump a lot.
Similarly, the vibe of tobacco certainly makes me feel irritated but smelling the Versace Man awakens my senses positively and my nose is adjusted to sniff it again n again. This was so far a lengthy decision and I tested Versace Man various times before making a final conclusion to add it in my wardrobe. Now, I SIMPLY LOVE IT!
It is a mix of spices and woods with tobacco dominance that plays the HIDE n SEEK with silage-waves. It’s sexy, it’s manly and it lasts.
PS. Synthetic: YES! But call it a “Synthetic Art”. Do not compare it with Terre D’ Hermes because the result will be an INFINITY as they are totally different worlds.
This parfume is a bit unusual: a mix of good "fresh spicy green" and a good "aqua fresh minty". While each "componenta" is good itself, I am not sure this combination is natural.
Not killing, mean not very strong, main force indeed disappears in 30-60 min, but lasts 6+ hours, with little or no changes in scent style, *NOT* boring, high quality chemistry.
Elegant and sweet fragrance.
Perfect for night or cold weather.
It is sensual, sexy and oriental, exactly the way I like!
In my opinion it lasts for a long time, but it's not too much invasive.
I recommend!
thank's ac_scent86, it's getting very difficult to buy it in my country. :.(
Mariano, I thought I read that somewhere too. If true, it's too bad. I really liked this one too.
can anybody tell me if this one is going to be discontinued? :.(
I caught a whiff of this colonge on a co-worker and liked it so much, I bought it for myself. Now my 15 year old has helped himself to it.
the saffron is too much but i still like it, original fragrance
black pepper and one more time black pepper...
Great smell when it is cold..
I love this one. It starts fresh and then the woody part kicks in. More for summer. The ingredients have been chosen by Donatella.
