Rapture Fragrance Reviews

Good thing about Rapture is that it lasts for at least 12 hours on clothes and from clothes it transfers to skin upon touch and still smells strong too. The whole composition is very ambery, warm and sweetish spicy, but something about it makes me think of dust. It smells old. I can't enjoy it, this scent irritates me.

Rapture

Victoria Secret scents are in the "Love to Hate" category I've noticed; and there is good reason--the monotony of the same notes being rebottled and renamed then presented as a novel fragrances. I understand the frustration. However, there there are a few worthwhile fragrances and I find Rapture to be one.
This is an amber fragrance really, deliciously thick and resionous. A little goes a long way. The vanilla adds a bit of sweetness. Being relatively inexpensive is a plus.
I had this years ago and have recently repuchased it. One thing I did notice is it not as strong as it once was. None-the-less I am enamoured with it. It is still a good, very sensual fragrance worth trying.

When I visit VS I seek this one out just for fun. I wore it when it was launched and I remember it seemed EVERYONE wore it at the time. This one just screams the 90's to me. The perfume just screams period. This one reminds me of J'Adore Voile de Parfum. VS will bring it back during the winter months. They ripped not only the trademark heart shaped bottle design from Escada but the scent as well. I'll probably pick up a small one just to have since it makes me smile....but it IS very dated to me. I guess I'm just not willing to re-live that decade just yet.

Hmm was surprised to see this compared to Spellbound. I don't see ANY resemblance at all. This is a nice warm earthy musk but without being overbearing or outdated.
I wasn't sure how Id like this after the original spray but it quickly settled down into a delightful perfume. One of the longer-lasting VS scents.

Ah, I remember this one well. I haven't smelled it in years. Girls in high school wore this. My other favorite one at that time was Victoria by Victoria's Secret. It was so classy, and I hear it's long since been discontinued. What a shame! Their women's frags were definitely 10x better over their guys' stuff, perhaps b/c they specialize in women's bras & knickers. ;o)

I have been wanting to try this for years and finally got myself a bottle (this is super hard to obtain in my country) since it is so often compared to my most favourite scents - Escada Margaretha Ley and Spellbound, I am also a fan of Bijan but it is a tad too soapy/pollen like yellow floral and I can't wear it - this is sadly the same case this is super soapy, heavy on jasmine and aldehydes (smells like a cross between No5 and Arpege) and it takes about 2 hours for it to settle down into a heady cloying headache inducing, soapy iritating aroma of Imperial Leather soap. I don't get sexy, any musky notes and especially absolutely no spicy notes whatsoever just a lingering soapy overpowering jasmine. I am an avid heavy 80's oriental/floral lover and even I can't work with this. Perhaps I got a bad batch or my chemistry doesn't work with this but I am quite disappointed with this purchase, one of my worst blind buys for quite some time.

I've always wanted to be the type of ultra elegant woman that could pull of Ch 5 but it's never been good w my chemistry. So I found Bijan n it is much better on me but then I got this as a sample n i must say this meshes perfectly w my skin! It exudes that old world elegance that I've always wanted in a mix that works for me! This stopped me in my tracks! Blew me away! Love!

Does anyone think this smells a little different than it did in the 90's? My friend bought me a bottle from the store (I guess it was gone for awhile then brought back?), so it is brand new. Its pretty much identical but it seems sweeter than I remember. Does anyone else think so? I remember it being more musky and powdery... Any opinions?

But of course I still love it, love me some sexy florientals...

Review from a man: I have been exposed to hundreds, maybe thousands, of fragrances over the years, and I must say that this is the ONLY one that actually makes me weak in the knees. I am in my 40's now, and ever since this was released in the early 90's (when I was in my twenties), I am completely powerless against this perfume ...

This is one of the few VS fragrances I like, love actually. It is unlike most of their fruity floral perfumes. This must get a lot of dislikes for the same reason: it does not suit the tastes of most VS customers.

This is along the lines of Tabu and other warm strong classics. It isn't girly, young, or light. I can see a very confident woman wearing Rapture. It's only a cologne but the sillage is phenomenal and the longevity is decent. It is a nice resinous amber floral fragrance. I think if more Tabu fans knew about this, the ratings would not be so negative. But I get the impression that most of these reviews are from people who like VS's more crowd pleasing scents.

For those of you who like classics like Tabu and Opium, please don't be afraid to test this just because of the VS name tag. I assure you that it is not in the same line as their mild fruity-florals, and that it is truly unique and different, with a vintage air about it.

I had this back in the day (1990-ish?) and it was like a cross between Rafinee and Bijan but way lighter and more honey. I knew it was cheap, especially on the dry down (in contrast to Raffinee, which got more intense with time, this fainted), but it was different than a lot of the fruity lilac crap that was being pushed in retail stores of the time. I wore it when I happened to pick up a purse spray during a bra sale, but eventually my budget and my tasted changed, so I haven't been back. But occasionally I'll catch a whiff on the right person and I'm like "Ok, nice, well done on you."
PS- The bottle used to be a cute little heart that sat not standing up, but laying flat on your bureau. Quite cute.

I remember smelling this on my daughter who had just been to the mall. She had purchased the small bottle. I bought her a larger bottle after smelling it on her for awhile. I love how it smells on with my body chemistry. It is strong at first but smells sweet and seductive after awhile. It has good staying power 6-8 hours and I find myself asking ladies what perfumes they wear. I can almost pick the scent out of a crowd. It smell a little different on everyone. My husband loves it. I will buy it again and again. hope they never discontinue it. two thumbs up!!

This isn't a fragrance I wear every day, although according to my boyfriend maybe I should. This is the first perfume I've worn in ages that makes him say: "You smell delicious."

I've worn Victoria's Secret Too Sexy and he gets so quiet regarding that one you could hear crickets.... What a waste of money that one was!

My fragrance buddy sent me a sample of this - and I was doing a "blind test" on it... and didn't write a review on it yet - because I wasn't sure if this was Avon's variety of Rapture, or Victoria's Secret's variety.

Wow...
I'll have to admit, I'm impressed!
I hate to say, but sometimes I have a little bit of a bias against Victoria's Secret fragrances, based on the fact that I feel that they over-market their products on their walls... and I haven't really taken them "seriously" as a fragrance house, because I have had a bias in the past of associating really good quality fragrances with those that you buy in a high end department store.

Rapture, totally caught me off guard. Without knowing what this fragrance was - and who created this, this wears like a complete DREAM! I received compliments on this the minute that I walked out of the house, even walking my dogs.

This is totally corny, but yes-- I was bent over picking up my dog's poo - and a guy was still complimenting me on my fragrance with this wistful look in his eyes like I was some type of enchanting Goddess wearing this fragrance!

Ok... that's it for me!
Got to have this fragrance!

It totally ROCKS!!!

---------

This wears like a lot of the 1980's full bodied robust fragrances. This is a little strong when you first spray it - but as it wears down, it is totally scrumptious and utterly delicious.

Victoria's Secret has a complete winner with this one. I love the way that this wears! You've got to try this, particularly if you love the fragrances that are more sophisticated and wear with a deeper chord than a lot of the cotton candy fragrances out there!

On my skin, this is heavenly. It really comes to life the longer that it mixes with my skin!

Great Stuff!

Love it!

----------------

My fragrance buddy has moved from fragrance buddy, to fragrance angel - after sending me this sample!

I wrote a review on this before, but saw this with new eyes coming from my fragrance angel! Sometimes sampling things can allow you to see things in a new light. You are more open to the "experience" when you are not registering the full marketing of a product - and sometimes the associations that you have with certain product lines may not allow you to see them in the best light.

This was a great experience. It makes me realize that I shouldn't let my own bias effect my ability to find a new product that I may truly LOVE!

I keep testing this, wanting to love it, but there is just something holding me back. The notes sound just fantastic, and on my skin the fragrance isn't bad, I just can't quite get myself to the cash register with this one. Overall I find the fragrance far less offensive than I used to. There is kind of a clean soapiness at the top that dries to a warm, slightly spicy, deep scent. And yet....

Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and get it home with me. That often seems to do the trick when I am not sure about a fragrance (which accounts for my large and constantly growing perfume collection). I think maybe it is the fact that I have always associated this fragrance with an age range that is slightly above mine and I don't want to wear a fragrance that I just don't feel comfortable in yet??

Regardless, I do find this to be a well done perfume and it is not like anything else that VS carries.

Oh, ravishing Rapture: how I relish you! I wore this gorgeous and elegant perfume last night on a date. Its warmth and rosy 'haute-couture' quality astounded me afresh. I felt classy and ever so feminine with this aura about me. As my friend and I walked by the water, delicate whiffs of almonds and roses wafted around me in the most magical way. My friend repeatedly told me how delicious I smelled : Like a freshly baked cinamon bun he said. Yes, it does have a gourmand feel with the heliotrope. Thank God my skin drinks perfumes up because this one is heavy and golden-amber that could olfactively offend some sensitive nostrils lol... But on me , I get a creamy cherry-vanilla rose-laced amber. We are now the morrow and I can still smell it very well, that delightful drydown that reminds me so of Jean Paul Gauthier Classique which I wore since I was 16! People often mistake this for Organza, Indécence , Casmir which I find interesting. I could almost imagine peaches and apricots dipped in honey. Its a Wonder Sophia Grosjman (sp?) is not behind this delish frag. Well, the date went well and this morning, he probably still has some of my scent on him. That says it all! Thank you again Darling Red!!!! You are the best!

SO IN LOVE!!!
I recieved this from Red347 in a most wonderful swap! He even added the shower gel ( a true luxury!) and the lotion ( i would have to write a review for that one alone:sumptuously moisturising and beautifully scented!) When I first got a whiff of this beauty, I had an image of cherry marzipan. This perfume is not only sophisticated, warm and well rounded, it is also a feast to the senses. I was down and sick and this fragrance was like a cuddle from an old friend. I felt as though Rapture and I had already met. It has this lovely buttery scent that lingers all day without being too opulent. A sultry spiciness enthralls the senses making this little charm gourmand. Heliotrope and Rose are my best friends so this is right up my alley. My roomate actually wants to use it : no way! This lovely bottle now has its own stand. Today is cold and rainy and Rapture keeps me company with her warm, rich ambery and gourmand presence!
Thanx for going out of your way to get me the set Angel! You spoiled me rotten, just when i needed it most! xxxx I just added this to my favorites: it might actually become a signature!

Rapture is an intoxicating, unique and complex fragrance; evoking many different moods depending on the weather, your skin chemistry, or your attire.
When worn in the fall or winter, it is cozy, warm, sensual and romantic, reminding me of a soft cashmere or angora sweater. I've also heard it referred to as a "dirty" smell; when worn in the "evening" with a sexy dress or even with just lingerie, this perfume radiates "sex". It is definitely all woman. I've been told by a European boyfriend that it smells French......unapologetically sensual and in your face sexy, like European women.
Rapture opens with a somewhat fruity yet spicy aroma and then as it wears off it evolves into an almost indescribable heady mixture of just plain femininity.
It is one of the most unusual and interesting scents ever. Much more complicated than any other VS fragrance.
My fiancee absolutely goes crazy over this and I have to wear with caution...it puts him "in the mood"!
Apply very sparingly and for a lighter version with the same feeling, apply just lotion and/or the body mist.

I love it because of the amber-jasmine, because is sweet but not too sweet and because it brings back good memories of my big sister and I. She used to have the body lotion and the cologne. She never let me even touch them, XD; she treasured them, her precious. I love my sister, and I love remembering those times when we were together, oh melancholy. I would buy this just because of that.

Every time I am confident enough to wear it I still get compliments as it mixes well with my chemistry and just exudes sexxxxxxxy ... deep femininity.

An image consultant friend of mine was wearing this fragrance in the body mist. She had this wonderful light musk aroma surrounding her and I could smell this when she would move around. The fragrance was light and fresh and smelled very clean.

I am now trying the perfume version of this - and this is a bit strong at first. I'm waiting to see how this dries down and if I will like it, or if I would prefer the body mist.

------------

Update, I did try the body mist yesterday and sampled this while I was out shopping. It had a very nice smell the first couple of hours. I will have to try the body mist again with a bit more focus and attention to exactly how it differs from the perfume version.

I tested this in the store and while it's got great silage (very strong, this one), there is a very powerful smell in this that is "off" to me. It may just be my body chemistry, as I normally adore rose fragrances. This one had a sourness that smelled intensely of dead, possibly moldy flowers. Within 15 minutes I found myself trying to scrub it off, to no avail. I ended up covering it with another perfume to dampen the smell a bit. Definitely a pass for me, and a disappointing one at that - having seen the notes in this I had expected to love it.

I wouldnt consider it White Floral.
The first spray isnt inviting at all, but then
it gets very very spicy on me and lots of Amber.

If I got a whiff of it not knowing it was made by VS -that woul dbe my last guess.

Far more depth and intrigue then the scents they put out now.

I am starting to get seriously disturbed by the amount of times I'm seeing people downright INSULT each other over difference of opinion on fragrances. Everyone is on Fragrantica for the same reason: We love perfume! We do not have to love the same exact things. Imagine how dull the industry would be if we did!

Not caring for powdery fragrances does not indicate a lack of intelligence. Just as a preference for them, apparently, does not guarantee a pleasant personality! What someone enjoys smelling has nothing to do with whether they are smart or stupid or attractive or what have you. What DOES say a lot about someone's personality, however, are the things that people say to each other, particularly during a disagreement.

I did not find VS Rapture to be anything special. I did not find it to be abhorrent, either. But now every time I pick up a bottle I will be reminded of the comments below, and it will sour my opinion on this perfume as a result, to think of how ugly people have gotten in defense of it.

Oh my goodness, this has been out forever and I just now bought a bottle! LOL Honeslty though, I was a teen in the 90's when this frag came out and this scent actually used to repulse me, so that's why I always steered clear of it. I really wish VS would make more frags like this one though; it's deep, rich and long lasting. I can see how people say its's "mature" and it is very spicy and strong, so it's great for evenings out. A very nice, inexpensive sexy frag!

A quick follow up to my review, if you like this scent get the matching body wash and pure silk lotion! The "pure silk" lotion is probably the best fragranced body product my wife or I have ever tried, it goes on smooth and almost instantly turns your skin silky soft! Go to the bay, find it pretty cheap, and if you like this scent, you will not regret it!

If you could put the glamour of the 90's into a bottle, this would be it. Or at least, it comes pretty close. This is hardly recognizable as a VS scent - it's that different from their current offerings. If you are looking for something fruity and pink, do not stop here. This is deep, warm, ambery, woody, floral, like velvet. Wearing this makes me want to break out the hot rollers and maroon lipstick of 1994. This is VS at its dark and vampy best.

Powdery, and reminds me of my aunt. I detected this scent from a customer at work from ten feet away. This is so nostalgic; I love it. My only complaints are that I like my perfumes to be more pungent, and the amber is not as pronounced as I prefer, but then again it is relatively inexpensive.

I first smelled it on my coworker back in early nineties, it was her signature scent. There is something to be said about 80s and 90s when perfume actually smelled like perfume and not fruity water. I tried it again the other day and its everything I remembered-slightly spicy warm floral oriental with a hint of sweetness. I would put it in the same category as Bijan(which is spicier) or Tresor(which is more floral). Rapture takes the place somewhere between the two. It has great lasting power and one small spray was enough to last me for several hours and I could distinctly smell it on my wrist. Normally I prefer sweeter gormand scents but I am drawn to this because its so heady, sensual and womanly. No, its not an "old lady" scent, its a scent for confident sexy woman. I really do miss VS fragrances that they used to produce back in the day-now, all they have for the most part is weak, fruity water that is getting weaker every year. Its truly sad because they used to have some wondeful long lasting fragrances

My mom used to wear this when I was younger, and I remember stealing it from her to wear it...so maybe I'm biased toward it, but I think it smells so warm and nice..."mature", of course, but people always tell me that I'm very mature for my age, so maybe I just have "mature" tastes. If you're all about a "sexy" or "hot" image, I wouldn't wear this, but if you're going for a more classic vibe, this is perfect.

Tested this beauty at the VS store today and goodness what a treasure! I've been dying to try it and so glad I finally did!Now on my want list!

I get a dose of powdery amber that can be a bit overwhelming if more than 2 small sprays are applied. A small time later, the florals come in and soften and round out the amber. It's an enchanting powdery scent that becomes more pleasant after the first hour.

I also tested the lotion and liked its subtle scent. Unfortunately, the EDP only lasted about 3 hours on my skin. Still, I'd love to own this beauty for cold winter evenings snuggled by the fire.

One of the classic V.S. scents. The perfumes in this store are as temporary as the sales associates. It seems like they discontinue as much as Bath and Body Works. Not surprising, since they're owned by the same company. Rapture does not smell the same on everyone, and I think too many women wear "clean" perfumes because they don't want to offend. Anything that isn't fruity floral, is old lady territory to them. V.S. is 99% fruity florals. They're marketing to the teens and early 20's, when they used to have an edge and market towards women. So I'm not surprised that Rapture isn't popular anymore. I have a very small bottle, but I'd wear this over most of their body sprays any day.

This *Is* Your Mother's Victoria's Secret (or at least your older sister's)

Rapture is a super rich, warm fragrance. The animalic and amber accords stick out the most. It can become cloying if worn incorrectly, and I am not surprised to read the reviews by people who are surprised by how it smells. It's sophisticated and classic. I always picture burgundy velvet when I think of Rapture. It may have come in a burgundy, flocked box when I worked at VS in 1997-1998.

Victoria's Secret's image, today, is vastly different from what it was in the early 1990s. Back then, VS stores featured soft, new age and classical music in a sophisticated setting. It wasn't about black and white lacquer + hot pink. It was mauve, ivory, and maaaaaybeee light blue (if they were feeling naughty). VS was going for a wholly different clientele when Rapture debuted. There was no PINK sub-brand.

If you want a real treat, catch a whiff of the other two classic VS fragrances (both of which are out of production, as I understand): Encounter and Victoria. Back in the 90s, all three were in full force! Women donned their favorite navy blazers and headed to the mall for some fragrance and white eyelet lace chemises.

I like this a lot! I tried it on today not knowing what it was, and that was probably a blessing, because I am kind of prejudiced against Victoria's Secret fragrances. At first, I thought "Is this Estee Lauder Beautiful in a very weird bottle?" (It was the mini bottle and not labeled.) Like another reviewer said, rose is not mentioned as a note but I definitely get strong rose. Very long lasting and comforting floral. Great from start to finish.

There is no rose mentioned among the notes, but for me Rapture is a sweet smell of rose. Warm and soft, yet quite strong and prominent with good staying power. Very elegant and feminine, to be applied with light hand.
I like it and it reminds me very much of SpellBound.

Ok, even though I didn't like it, I'm able to appreciate Rapture's beauty. This one is different to everything VS offers, it is NOT their average fruity floral, I find that refreshing in a way...Its composition is complex, rich, bold, sophisticated and it also feels romantic and nostalgic at the same time..
It is not my cup of tea, but I think there are ladies out there that could pull this beauty off. I got no freesia, but a very ambery orange blossom and a strong jasmine note...
I did not like it for me, but I like the idea of it...I wish VS would have followed this pattern of creating interesting fragrances with depth. I like several VS creations, but lately most of their fragrances seem to be so mediocre...

I tried to give this one a whirl but it just doesn't mix with my chemistry - kind of smelled like insecticide. It does seem like a scent for a more mature woman. But it does last long so I really wished it would have worked for me. I do have to say that the bottle design is unique and attractive.

I remember when I used to own this perfume--it's very very potent! Kind of smells like an old lady...and I never really received any good compliments from it, just that it "stinks." I would not buy this one again.

I loveee it!!! Got this as a birthday present. First sniff...whew!! This cologne is strong, with considerable silage and great staying power (on my skin, it stays all day long). Amber is really prominent since opening (until the very end), followed by a huge bouquet of white floral. Thankfully the citrus give the heavy opening a bit lightness (a teeny tiny bit).

As heavy as this is, I wear it all year long. In the summer it always makes me feel a little bit naughty. In the winter, it feels warm and still a bit naughty.

Nope. This is not your everyday VS fragrance.
It is mature, loud, spicy, sweet, sexy, bold; unapologetic of its existence. This is (VS) angel with attitude.

Rapture is one of the few fragrances in my collection that I have a love hate relationship with. Some days Rapture smells "old lady", "dirty slut" or simply repulsive, on other days, I find the dry down really clean, almost close to the skin. Rapture is a full bodied white floral with a slightly metallic quality. Powerhouse sillage and amazing staying power,it is a COLOGNE that wears better and lasts longer than some EDPs. I have the entire fragrance set of Rapture (the box which comes with the lotion, shower cream, cologne and edp), but I am scared to layer this fragrance since the Cologne alone is STRONG. Rapture is probably Victoria's Secret's most unique fragrance--standing out from a sea of mediocre fruity and sweet fragrances they produce today.

I love this! Old Hollywood sexy!. When people say "it smells old", what they're saying is they're thinking "people of a more mature age". But I think the real interpritation of this scent is, it's not suppost to be of a mature age, but of a mature time. it's the interpritation of sexy from a retro era. Obviously VS didn;'t put others out there like this, perhaps becuase the perfume was just so misunderstood. It's not a perfume for an old lady, it's a perfume for someone who can capture the retro sexy vibe of the 50s and 60s.

Not sure if I like this one, I remember loving it as a teen...but I think I may have outgrown it.

I noticed that most people voted that this a cold weather fragrance. I disagree...rapture smells tropical. I think it's better suited for warmer weather.

I can understand how a lot of people don't like this, it is indeed a "mature" fragrance. However, I wouldn't say that makes it inappropriate for someone in their teens, twenties, or thirties.

My mother, who was in her twenties as I grew up, always wore this and it always comforted me. Once I was sixteen I got my first bottle, and it smells fantastic on me. Everyone always complimented me when I wore it. You just have to know when to wear it. It's not for a gal-pal night or a day relaxing by the pool, but it is perfect for sensual, gown-wearing nights, or turning heads at cocktail parties.

I was a little worried at first, that this would be too strong for me or too "old", but it's actually not that bad, I quite like it. Best for fall / winter nights, spicy and warm. I really like the bottle, one thing I dislike about it is that it doesnt last long enough (for a night perfume).

This started off too strong with a weird almost chemical note (sorry, I'm no good at discerning notes) that made me think maybe I was crazy for thinking I liked this at the store. But after a few minutes, I remembered why I liked it. It has a dark and sexy scent, like nothing else I have ever worn. I will probably get a lot of use out of it this winter.

I wanted to like this so badly but I just couldn't. Rapture is way too strong and gave me a headache after just one sniff. Nothing but roses and musk! Girls, this IS your grandma's rose perfume. Reminds me of those overdressed, bedazzled old southern ladies that you hear and smell coming a mile away. Just not pleasant and not sexy, IMO.

a very unusual amber scent. i can detect some medical hints which one i love, it's from the freesia i guess.
this has a nice creamy powdery wearing sensation. it's indeed a very sexy, tempting scent. warm amber and cool fresia... mysterious thing!
no sweets in this than the lovely orangeblossom. a great mixture. very classy and mordern at the same time. lasts forever. nice sillage. great bottle. thumbs up!

I tried this one back when it first came out. It's not bad but I think maybe a bit too much amber in it. It sort of dragged it down and it seemed like some old discontinued drugstore fragrance. VS scents have been lighter lately and I think the heavy amber is something you would see with an older fragrance.

Rapture is the most mature scent I've smelled from Victoria's Secret. There is none of the fruit cocktail notes that are in almost all of their other fragrances.

That being said, I can't really smell any notes in specific. They all work to together to create a composition that's a bit serious and not at all flirtatious, in my opinion. Unfortunately I don't get the spicyness that others have mentioned.

This is still my fave of the VS scents. It is strong and sweet, good for winter & evenings out. I like that it is a more "mature" smell, as the VS fragrances are mostly sweet and not terribly sophisticated to my nose. This has a little class. I get amber and vanilla (not listed) the strongest; the flowers are blended in well, and the amber tempers them so that you get a smell that is warm (not "spicy" in a cinnamon way), powdery and sweet all at once. Once of my all-time fave perfumes.

Very floral & amber powdery beginning, not your bright clean floral notes. The amber dry down makes it smell like a gourmand and is so soft I kept forgetting I had it on except for the occasional waft. I would say the opening is definitely a more mature style fragrance, especially when compared to the VS Very Sexy or Pink lines. The beginning is clearly feminine but the dry down is unisex. Nice but not surprising or different.

There must something in this that doesn't agree with my nose. I notice a lot of the stronger perfumes will have this certain scent, the way you can usually pick out a scent that has gardenia. I wore it once, got compliments, and threw it away. Others seem to love it, I can only imagine Aunt Bea from the old Andy Griffith shows when I spray this. I love some other amber scents....it can't be that.

I have been searching for the perfect romantic, evening perfume and this is it! My husband absolutely loves it. It is definitely not for the office, it is spicy, warm, really sexy but I'm older now and probably never would have picked this when I was younger. It is really in harmony with the perfect evening scent I love on him which is the original Escada for men.

Very amber-y and powderish in a way. It is a strong fragrance, and kind of screams "I am sexy, come to me!!" I like ambery, spicy fragrances sometimes, but only when they linger closer to the skin. My old roommate wore it when she was in her early 20's, and I always thought it a bit heavy. I could smell it on her when I was several feet away. I also thought it seemed more appropriate for an older woman.

This isn't for everyone, but I like it a lot. I'm extremely drawn to how sophisticated this fragrance is. The rose and jasmine notes smell beautiful! The only downside is that it is too strong to be an everyday fragrance. I find myself wearing it a lot during the colder months though. It's spicy and exotic.
