Le Golliwogg perfume is named after a character from children's stories of 19th century and the African culture, although today that inspiration and design can be considered very racist. It was launched in 1919 in France, and in 1925 in USA. The packing of the perfume was created by Michel de Brunoff and his brother-in-law Lucien Vogel (one of the founders of Vigny perfume house) - both editors of the French Vogue. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacque Vogel.
really?! this is up for review? i had this as my avatar and people on here had fits and reported me for it and subsequently administrators took mine down. but alas, now its right here on fragrantica to be reviewed. seems like a double standard to me.
