En Avril Un Soir Yves Rocher for women

am wondering why the men's version isnt listed here.the bottle is gorgeous and yes the smell is dated but very very lovely

I love perfumes and I love Yves Rocher. I really like this scent but it's too old for me. In my opinion it's more for the 'older woman'.

Review of the VINTAGE-version (and please NOTE: This scent is called En Avril, UN soir - not Le Soir... which makes quite a difference in French!!! It's not the evening, but an evening... )!

The structure of this EdT is original: it contains loads of aldehydes which give the fragrance lightness and clarity, and the heart consists of white flowers (rose, jasmine, freesia). So far, so good. The originality is to be found in the basenotes, a complex construction of several musky shades skillfully arrranged and muted like a painting by one of the great impressionists. I think this fragrance was influential in the late 70's - but unfortunately, the recent reedition bears no resemblance to the original. The reedition smells nondescript in comparison and seems to be made on the basis of a cheap formula, this is - it is no proper reconstruction at all.
I'm very grateful to ACTION for having be so kind as to share a large amount of this vintage-marvel with me.

And Persephone, you are so right comparing it to Rive Gauche, which I unfortunately are not able to smell. So this is my personal answer to that concept. The Parfum de Toilette you are referring to also has a sister in Madame Rochas Parfum de Toilette. They are VERY similar, only En Avril Un Soir has more of a purple edge to it. Needless to say, I ADORE Md. Rochas in the original formula. So this one too!!

Gypsy and Persephone, are these the notes of the vintage or the new one? I have been looking for the vintage notes forever!! I have both and think the new one is very good too, but the vintage is heaven! I have tried to get it in the database here too, but because I had no notes available, it didn't make it yet. Maybe you could help me out??

This is a very sophisticated a la Rive Gauche chypre, only darker and more sensual. Excellent and unfortunately impossible to find. I have a lovely parfum de toilette bottle thanks to my dear Action, I will surely guard it.

While searching for a more accurate notelist for this scent, I was disappointed to not find it on Basenotes nor osMoz...

However the Russian Fragrantica when translated with Bing! lists these:

TOP-ylang, orange, aldehydes
HEART-freesia, jasmine, rose
BASE-butterscotch, sandal, musk

Yves Rocher does not supply a lot of information about the notes in a perfume. En Avril un Soir is NOT like Vie Privee. En AVril Un Soir is a Floral Aldehydes like Calandre/Rive Gauche/Ma Griffe.

Vie Privee is a rich white flower bouquet like Azzaro no 9.

a five star! Where Rive Gauche is a ´cannot smell it´ for me, this one I CAN smell and HOW MUCH SO!

I have an original bottle of this fragrance in an edt splash 120ml.
My Aunt in the 1970's used to wear Carven Ma griffe and I think that it smells similar but ot as heavy or harsh.As A man I can get away with wearing it as a summer cologne

For your information, this is not a new perfume. Yves Rocher have re-launched it. It was popular in the 70s. I still think it is the nicest fragrance in the world

Vickalena, I really like your description about this perfume. I have it now, but not tried it yet. Actually this new bottle is inconvenient,I will wait until I buy a fillable spray.
