Fleur de Noel was introduced just before holidays, in November 2008. It was inspired by Christmas rose or Hellebore flower as an ode to a blooming pink bouquet full of love, touched with gourmand aromas of sweet almonds and balmy accords of Tonka beans, which rest on a base of sensual white musk in an elegant and opulent way.

Christmas delicatessen Fleur de Noel is available as 50 ml EDT in a cylindrical glass bottle, painted with floral motive. Besides EDT, the collection encompasses a perfume for purse in a box shaped like a pink flower, body care lotion, perfumed bath and scented candle.

Gypsy, Thank you SOOO much for adding the notes of this one! It now made something clear to me I had been wondering for quite some time! It has some great similarities with the Secret Essences Rose Absolue fragrance line!! The only difference is that this perfume is purely gourmand to me and Rose Absolue combined strong gourmand notes with some spicy notes as well. Rose Absolue is therefor more like a VERY sweet version of an allrounder perfume!

Really nice, sweet and innocent smell. It reminds me of something from my childhoot that I can't grasp, can't say what it is, but it's amazing:) Comforting and I think I have found another favourite of mine by YR..and as tradition goes, it's either discontinued or special edition.

Being that this was a limited edition Christmas release from 2008, I bought the whole set. This intruiged me due to the fact that it contained hellebore rose, the only rose that blooms in the middle of winter, also known as the Christmas Rose...

According to the YR press releases the notes for this are, as follows:

TOP: hellebore rose, rose absolute
HEART: almonds, icing sugar
BASE: tonka bean, white musk

This scent began very floral on me and the rose was actually quite light, at first; and then the absolute became so strong it actually smelled thick and fruity to me. Like cherry blossoms or cherries, only lighter. As it dried, the sweet nutty almond dripping with sweet powdered sugar became a bit too sweet for my tastes, though the final drydown was lovely with tonka's vanillic warmth and the fresh white musk's clean coolness; the fruity-floral nuttiness still persisted, albeit more subtly. I kept it for over two years, using the body products once and the perfume twice. I really liked it but it was just not "me". My mom came to the same conclusion and gave her set to my 10 year old grandniece and she was so pleased that after opening it, she demanded a shower. When she emerged, floating like a sugar-plum fairy; she asked me: "Don't I smell good...and grown-up?" There you have it, sweet enough for a child; but mature enough for a gourmand lover. A true Christmas delight. I am sure it is better on you ladies than it ever was on me...Enjoy!

Sillage: good
Longevity: above average
Overall: 3/5

This scent is really the true Fleur de Noel. A flower that blooms around the end of December. This was the first year that we Americans saw an EDT spray for the yuletide release. I enjoy YR scents tremendously, but have decided that though I love the house; I do not need each and every subsequent release and those I had which are better suited to others...should be with others. Keeping 'fumes just to have them and not wear them defeats the purpose, don't you think?

EDIT: I did actually keep the hand soap, two hand creme and lip balm. The hand soap is wonderous and leaves just a trace of flowery sweetness, and the hand cream is more vanillic. The lip balmm is very creamy and like a Christmas kiss to dry parched lips!

So cosy, tasty, sweet!!!
Fleur de Noel will appeal to gourmand lovers - to me it smells like a Christmas spicy almond + vanilla pudding!
Gosh, it makes me want to knock the atomiser off to drink it at once :-)
The most delicious fragrance I have ever worn and I own it as a courtesy of Action - thank you, Sister!
It starts very ''gourmandy''and remains tasty till the very dry down.
Subtle, yet noticeable. Tasy sweet, yet not cloying. A true gem well worth having, it will warm you up this Christmas and will get you in the right mood in an instant!!!
Rare and difficult to find at any fragrance store - that is its only downside :-)
If you are a gourmand lover like myself - this one is a must!!!

there u can see how different taste can be or impressions:) i think its pretty ordinary, and just lovely sweet... it has nothing mystical at all... it smells like flowery/sugar/cotton candy... staying power is lame, but the christmas frag`s are always lame in staying power... we`ll see if its different this year:)

Even though the perfume claims to be a Christmas rose scent, i still agree with others who say it's an ultimate cherry syrup! They should have named a "Cherry Drink" or something)) I can hardly smell other notes, except almonds maybe.
On average, very sweet cherry scent that hardly transforms throughout the day. But it's also quite cheap, so I didn't expect anything extraordinary.

If you are looking for a sweet cherry fragrance, this is the one!The opening smells like sweet cherry compote and the drydown is as sweet as cherry syrup. The smell is very edible, but too sweet for my nose.

I agree with all of the above. The worst scent from Yves Rocher.

I havent visitedany of the YR boutiques for a while, so finding a new fragrance before Christmas was a nice surprise.

Except that this one is a 'miss' rather than a 'hit'. I wouldn not buy it for myself, neither as a gift, as it does not last at all and the scent is very common, does not evolve, there is nothing special or distinctive about it.
I think the brand could do better.

I totally agree with Juliette, the scent
is not classy at all. The scent does not last and you are simply left with a smell of almonds ! Nauseating. Where
did the smell of rose go?

This creation is not very original, disappointing for Yves Rocher aficionados. A very conventional structure, the accents of flowers underpinned by some Christmas spices. After 10 min, you are left with no impression at all, because the fragrance has vanished. Well, this is probably due to the use of cheap material, and after all, Yves Rocher is not classy brand, but very democratic (I love this aspect). Get the re-editions of Venise or Ispahan instead. More expensive, but worthwhile.
