Kouros Eau d`Ete 2006 Yves Saint Laurent for men

This summer 2012 in the Greek Cyclades I tried it and at first it was a delight. It is surely lighter and more aquatic than the iconic original Kouros. By this it really feels modern all the way and it works indeed great under the heat of the sun - by the shores of turqoise waters, or during heat wave nights - when clubbing in windling white washed alleys on small islands in the greek archipelago. It seems really to have been made with this environment in mind.
However, after a deeper sniffing analysis of the mix you can detect the many poisonous chemicals in the liquid. This makes you reluctant to use this summer edition on your skin, even more so after having read the ingredient list ("Studies indicate that methylparaben applied on the skin may react with UVB, leading to increased skin aging and DNA damage") It is indeed a deadly cocktail and it ruins your relation to this product and the confidence in the reformulated Kouros line.

The Kouros flanker only works in warmer weather. While it will never replace the original, I am impressed with any tribute to the classic. The best flanker was Kouros Fraicheur. This was a limited edition.

What is different? Quite a bit, honestly. It opens with rosemary, artemesia and "blue mint"-a very peculiar sythetic ingredient that has a cooling effect on your skin. Its tingly and unusual. I dont get the aquatic note at all. I never accepted that class and this is the only "aquatic" in my collection. It states on the box that "it can be worn in the sun"? I never had a problem with that before with anything. Finally, the base is familiar with just a whisper of civet and musk.

It reminds me of pools, amusement parks and flirting, as opposed to the originals "come hither effect". I am glad to have a bottle in my collection. I am finding the entire YSL portfolio is "a limited edition" after 2009. L'Oreal Paris has cheapened this once mighty house.

I hate when they stupidly launch new freak versions of a overpower fragrance as Kouros.
This one is just Kouros in a softer and aquatic spirit with some green notes as mint added. Cool and freshening, comfort and easy to wear specially for summer.
Here, the weather is humid and temp is 36c and I don't enjoy wearing funny fresh perfumes, unless when I wear Kouros and strongly show my power that how is matched with the scent.

A lighter version of Kouros Cologne Sport, and I'm not kidding when I say lighter. It vanishes is minutes. Absolutely no longevity or sillage. YSL should be ashamed to give this the "Kouros" moniker. Save your money and get the Cologne Sport version. It actually has great longevity despite being labled a "cologne".

A beautiful light Kouros scent a bit minty and similar to Kouros Sport Cologne. One the very best "waft on the air" scents. A fabulous summer fragrance!

so i bought a bottle today, given the fact that it's a limited edition. when you spray it on your wrist, it starts off as a bit too much of citrusy, but after 10 minutes, the middle notes show up and later on it turns into a aromatic soapy scent. very pleasant indeed! :)

ooow and it gives a fresh, cool sensation on your skin too, like tooth paste !!

i don´t know other versions of kouros, but my first impression of this one is a nice fresh mint,very masculine, then fades to soapy scent, like a fresh shower...not sweet, just soapy...and then it becomes musky and stays on the skin...well done, and really wearable on summer! really nicer for men, but i have a 10mls bottle and should discover when to use it, maybe on office...later i come back here again and tell you all...:)
