This perfect flanker takes you from the sexy red chamber of the imperial palace to it exotic April garden within the Forbidden City. Its perfect for warm weather evenings. It is still very loyal to the original classic.
What is different? There is still lots of spices. The florals are the biggest change. The carnation is less bitter and lily of the valley is gone. In its place is the imperial flower-almond blossom. Its utterly wonderful-soft, creamy and sweet! It fits into the composition like an old friend. The base still has lots of sandalwood, vanilla, amber and myrrh. Its not as smokey or heavy. Its also very romantic, to be shared outside under a spring moon...
It was offered as a limited edition and I still see some affordable bottles online. Opium lovers need to hurry! It is brilliant.
This is a nice flanker. Imperial Flower is a softer Opium. Very powdery on the dry-down along with the Opium spices but of course much, much lighter than the queen. This one is also a little bit sweet, as in spicy-sweet, where as the original is more dryish. I also love the apricot blossom note too. It's pretty!
This perfume may be used as an introduction to Opium if you are not willing to take the plunge but Opium is a really unique scent and I think Opium smells good on everyone. It's just a matter if you can personally tolerate all those notes throughout the day or night.
After being hit by bergamot first - and the citrus top notes were so strong that it gave me creeps - the scent became sweet and there's some resin.. or maybe it's the apricot blossom. I however find it very agreeable.
I enjoy this very much. Has much of the character of the original, but is easier to wear for daytime. None of the LEs will ever match the original, but they're not supposed to!
Just a lighter version of the original. I think it suites better summer time or pple who dont like the overpowering effect of Opuim, the original.
Forget about all these limited editions if you have used the original Opium. It is like an overly diluted cup of Chinese tea where the flavor is hardly there.
This is great perfume! I bought it three years ago, I used it two years during the summer, but it is suitable for winter too. It is not so strong and sharp as original, the creator took the best features of original perfume
