Topic: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

I normally wear lip gloss during the day at work, but at night I need to use lip balm or I wake up with chapped and peeling lips. I don't like THICK and STICKY balms. Then I just feel like I'm waking up with Crisco on my lips smile

In your experience what is the best lip balm??

I've gone through A LOT Of balms and I like this one a lot. It is a bit more moisturizing than your typical "chap stick" and not as thick. Give it a try! glad

I got the vanilla one from Now Foods and it's great!

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lipcare Stick

What the website claims:

Next time you're hit with a chocolate-y craving, try smoothing on this lip luxury. With Community Trade organic beeswax, plus moisturising olive, coconut and sweet almond oils.

Ingredients:

Cocoa butter

Is an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth. Enables the development of community projects such as schools and village wells, in addition to providing small-scale farmers with income to support their families.

Organic beeswax

Moisturizes and helps to condition dry skin, especially on your lips and around the fingernail beds. Acts as a barrier that helps to seal in moisture. Helps to keep product texture consistent when used over time. Plays a part in protecting and preserving the forest as well as providing necessary income for the beekeepers, an increasing number of which are now women.

Sweet almond oil

Provides essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin's moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness.

Organic olive oil from Italy

Is a natural moisturizer for normal to dry skin. It also helps condition hair, and give it a silky shine. Our olive oil is organic, and comes from our Community Trade partners in southern Italy.

Coconut oil

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil helps to condition the skin and hair to make you smooth, soft and deliciously scented. It also supports small, organic coconut farmers in Samoa, where there are few opportunities to earn a decent wage.

Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Flavor, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propylene Glycol, Water, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Tocopherol.

What I think:

This is the ONLY balm that works for my chapped lips and I only been using it for 2 days .___. Like totally! I used to wear TBS Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter but nothing changed from my lips.

Then I met this baby  12

I think this is just what you're looking for. This is non-sticky, it softens and moisturizes, smells HEAVENLY (like chocolate milk, yumm!!), lasts totally long through your night (i can say it lasts for more than 12 hours), and it's hygienic (in stick form). You like to wear glosses right? Well, wear this at night and in the morning, your lips will be ready to wear the lip gloss!

And also, this is not thick glad You can apply as many as you want, but this baby won't make you uncomfortable!

In dollars, this stuff costs about $8. People say it's on the expensive side for a balm. But I tell you one thing. It. Totally. Worth. It! Just look around the internet, many websites reviewed this 5/5 (some 4.5/5 because the price). But then again, TBS usually give discounts  glad

I totally recommend you to try this  74

Good luck  11

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

My Holy Grail lipbalm is from naturesnaturalbeaty.com - it contains Emu Oil and is the deepest most effective moisturisation ive gotten from any lipbalm.

I get reeeeeeally dry, chapped lips so this is a god-send!

Apivita lip care with propolis. Contains beeswax and olive oil.

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

My favourites are anything from the Burts Bees range glad

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

I love Alba's coconut cream lip balm.  Super moisturizing, nice smooth texture.

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

I love Burts Bees, it's organic, and obviously natural. Plus they have some nice ones tinted, and they aren't overly expensive either. You can find them in almost any store, including Walmart.

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

I swear by smackers.

I have a smacker in dragon fruit flavor by my bed, a royal berry flavored one in my backpack, and a cotton candy flavored one in my purse!

Stop and smell the roses!

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

I have the same problem and at night I use Simmons Paw Paw Salve. It's brilliant! Vaseline is made from petro-chemicals and I wouldn't be using it long term.

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

Hi PA -- I strongly recommend Weleda lip balm. Your local Whole Foods should carry it I think. Actually everything I've tried from Weleda is amazing IMO. If you struggle with dry skin/lips, Weleda is worth checking out.

Cheers!

eos lip balms are really popular right now. They don't feel thick on your lips and if you accidently get some in your mouth they actually taste good, lol. The packaging is really neat as well. + it's 95% organic.

You can buy it at walmart, walgreens, long's.... so many places, it is about $3.

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

your welcome, let us know if you like it glad

Re: Looking for THE BEST lip balm

The best lip balm is one thats organic and without petroleum. Our skins don't absorb petroleum, leaving it sitting on our skin until its wiped away. So I would try an organic balm that has organic, natural oils that your skin can absorb and build natural moisture. Eventually you wont have too keep reapplying the lip balm so often because your skin would have enough oils absorbed.

I tried Hurraw! Lip Balm that I found in American Apparel one day. (The Green Tea one is my daily user). Look on http://revieworganics.com/2011/09/05/hu … -lip-balm/ , they have info on it
