Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

Alas, no holy grail yet for me. That said, I'm not really sure I want to find a signature fragrance. As soon as I'd declare one, surely something new would tempt me!

I feel ya, Sirenn.  Maybe we are related. lol  But seriously, there's definitely

something about the hunt that gets my heart pumpin. On the other hand it

would be so cool to say i actually found my "signature" scent.

I think I'm a commitment phobe. haha   68

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

My wallet sure wishes I would find a HG, but no.

Also, I wear fragrance mostly for my own pleasure and therefore have to change up often because my scent receptors seem to get used to things really fast. Mixing up the frags means I always have something nice to smell  glad

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

I don't think I have one. There are so many scents that I love, and my taste is constantly changing.

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

I don't know how to answer because I have found many perfect scents already but I am constantly discovering new ones glad

Wilder things have happened!

As much as I love adore certain scents - like https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.2938.jpg  Estée Lauder Sensuous - I'm hesitant to call it a true "signature" as it would be akin to choosing a favorite (hypothetical) child. And then if anyone made a mean remark about my "baby", I'd have to knock their block off. So it's just safer for everyone all around if I decline.  wink

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

I don't think I want a HG fragrance. I enjoy the hunt and acquisition of new scents. I've had that "this is THE ONE" feeling countless times, and then it's replaced by something else a few weeks later.

I would like to weed out my collection and keep only the perfumes that I love or at least like. I have so many bottles collecting dust (mostly blind buys). Now that I've discovered what I actually like I can spend my money wisely and collect perfumes that I know I'll wear.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

I feel more like the Fragrantica database is the Holy Grail lol.

I can't seem to find the one and only....the Holy Grail feels near and yet so far, the ones I love are missing something, a nuance of a certain note...... 33

I can only dream of it.......???  56

Makes you want to delve into perfume creation yourself, doesn't it? *Sigh*

Well, what if your HOLY GRAIL has been discontinued and you're clinging to the last of what you stocked up on? The journey doesn't end there. wink

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

No because the grass is always greener from an olfactory perspective. There is always a Holier Grail out there somewhere.

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

Yes, I have. Finally, after years of searching I found the one - nothing exclusive, no niche or anything, but it is just perfect for me. I just had never before tried it on my skin 'cause I thought roses weren't for me. Oh, how wrong I was..  glad I'm absolutely in love..

mine was, I just have a little bottle left now - I rarely wear it & just sniff it now & then. my next most favourite is discontinued too, but I have a bigger stock of it, so still wear it.

but honestly, life goes on.  I like variety these days.

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

I don't have a single Holy Grail fragrance, but I am ok with that...I do, however, feel content with what I have and am enjoying them. That is not to say I won't ever buy anything new, but I don't feel like anything is missing at this point. I haven't felt like this about perfume in many years. I felt so bereft when I realized my old signature had been discontinued, and I could no longer find it anywhere. I wore some that I was just all right with for a few years, then stopped wearing perfume altogether during pregnancy and when my babies were small. I've been back into perfume for about 2 years now, mainstream perfume for a year, and it felt so overwhelming to try to find my new perfume love. Now that I am happy with a wardrobe, I don't feel I need to keep searching for that One...it will find me someday if it's meant to be.  12

The following come pretty darn close, though:

https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.13498.jpg  Dolce&Gabbana The One Lace Edition https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.219.jpg  Dior Hypnotic Poison https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.8925.jpg  Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.427.jpg  Jean Paul Gaultier Classique https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.456.jpg Lolita Lempicka Lolita Lempicka

Maybe over time, one of those will become my Holy Grail. glad

I love love love JPG Classique! And I have for a very long time. I am

especially fond of the Edp. I'm itchin to get this one for spring

here in the states. I could easily see this being my signature scent. It has

pretty much everything I look for in a frag.-namely noticeable flowers,

powderiness that isnt overwhelming, balminess, fruity notes that aren't

too sweet, smoothness, woody notes and of course sex appeal.  92

https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.427.jpg Jean Paul Gaultier Classique is a new discovery for me, but I can see why it has such a devoted following. I totally agree with your description. I bought the EDT.

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

I have found my holy grail for winter,  it's https://fimgs.net/images/perfume/m.975.jpg Aquolina Pink Sugar but i need fragrances for the other 3 seasons.....I dontt know why but my obsession is seriously becoming crazy I want to buy so many but than im like im I even going to get to use them all or will they go bad on me.

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

No.

I'll find one that I adore the smell of but the sillage/longevity will be too weak.

Or it will be a room-filler but there'll be a note in the drydown which doesn't appeal to me.

Or it'll be a lovely smell but just a bit too ordinary

Re: Have you found your HOLY GRAIL fragrance?

Nope I haven't found it yet and it looks like I never will! I haven't found that super perfect scent that I can't pick out any negatives... Even if I do find a near perfect one, there's always some little thing about it that I think they could have made better... maybe I have to make my own one up  25
