On the 10th and 11th of January 2017, the University of Calabria located in Cosenza (Italy) will host the conference "Per Fumum - Myth, History, Culture and Use of Aromatic Plants Between Ancient and Modern".

Curated by Giuseppe Squillace (Associate Professor in Ancient Greek History at the Department of Humanistic Studies of University of Calabria and author of several essays and articles on the subjects of history and perfume), the two day event will merge cultural, historical, scientific, literary and traditional aspects related to the world of perfumery while gathering academics, experts and people from the fragrance industry like the perfumers and owners of brands Angela Ciampagna of Angela Ciampagna, Pier Luigi Salvi (Diadèma Exclusif), Giovanni Sammarco of Sammarco and Roberto Dario (Esperienze Olfattive).

Sounds good thou, but i still believe that today's artists and creations are much creative than the eras back then, knowing that by comparing the vintage fragrances and today's creations.

I can't deny that most (if not all) of today's creations are completely inspired by those vintage eras as they do have that rich materials and aspects that translates those pictures and stories they hear about historical personas into liquids & blends that make minds goes back in time.
