This is far from my favorite fragrance but I have to give it credit for being one of the longest lasting designer frags in my collection. I get around 12 hours longevity with the first 4 having good projection from about 4 sprays.

It’s very different from the edt’s Axe shower gel vibe that screams at you for hours but fades must faster. The Parfum is a more mature and office friendly composition. If you’re expecting an even louder version of the original release than you got the wrong idea.

I bought it just because I found a cheap price for a used bottle online. I’ll update later with the batch code.

Dior Sauvage Parfum. The fragrance that got me started down this rabbit hole into the world of perfumes. I tested different concentrations but the Parfum has a scent that is unmatched. It’s more mature, refined, and just an amazing overall fragrance. People complaining about its performance aren’t exactly wrong, but I’ve sprayed it before and have had people mention it 4-5 hours later. One woman said it smelt like “man” but wasn’t offensive and actually smelled rather nice. She did admit to having a very sensitive sense of smell, but the moaning and groaning about performance is a bit out of hand. It will last as a skin scent longer and not blow the roof off someone’s olfactory sense. I don’t want to smell obnoxious. I highly recommend the Parfum version of Sauvage, but will try the EDP next and see what I think as it’s different when you spray a fragrance on yourself and let it work rather than smelling a test strip. Anyway, this stuff is incredible, and I believe it will be revered for years to come.

This is unfortunately the most disappointing out of the Dior Sauvage Line. The formulation is great. However, the longevity and sillage is appallingly disappointing for a ‘Parfum’. It barely last more than 4 hours on me. The Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum lasts so much longer and will sometimes linger on for days on clothing.

Like with the rest of the Sauvage line, the criticism that Sauvage Parfum gets is mostly unwarranted, and usually comes from people's biases against Sauvage. I like where they took the line with this. One of the major criticisms of Sauvage EDT was the 'shoutiness', which made it less wearable in certain situations. With the Parfum, they've retained the mass-appeal of the EDT, but toned it down, and made it smoother and more rounded.

To me, it smells fairly similar to the EDT, with the same 'shower gel vibe', just toned down and less loud. It's smoothed out with the sandalwood and tonka, and smells more resinous and richer with the olibanum and elemi. Yes, the performance has taken a hit, with a bit less longevity and much less projection than the EDT. Yes, it costs a fair bit for what essentially smells like really nice shower gel. But it still smells really nice, and of all the directions they could have taken Sauvage, I think this was the right decision, offering a modern, mass-appealing fresh fragrance that is more wearable in the office, or for people who want something a bit more understated.

I don't care what haters say, this is love, love, love for me and I will never stop buying the great Dior Sauvage. 10/10

Actually quite freaked out by the user below's review, as I came to say something very similar. This is a very melancholic offering, but in the best way possible. Kinda like a olfactory impression of sleep deprivation perhaps? Cozy, hazy, warm, deep and dark, yet subtle. I don't necessarily have the ties to a life experience as Paulo does to give me that impression, I think it's just the vibe of the fragrance. Took me a while to appreciate, I left a previous review months ago which was kind of iffy. Now however I get great pleasure from wearing it on an early winters day; summer is long gone and feels so out of reach, but Sauvage Parfum cuts so beautifully through the cold on such a day to offer comfort.

PauloViegas

Is it nice? Yes and no. Yes, as it reminds me of the time I wore the edt back in 2016/17. University days. Going back and forth on the train. Hours waiting to get home. The books I read and studied while on these trips. It smells like the shadow of the original in my leather jacket after a long long day of academia.
No because, to my nose, I get a leathery/rubbery smell that is quite unpleasant when I put my nose right into it.
This is just a sad fragrance, to me. Filled with ghosts of a past that, unfortunately, won't come back. Fills me with melancholia.

Love this flanker of Sauvage. It’s much more grown up than the original. Whereas EDT is clean fresh laundry, this is more dark and mature. Just wish the performance and price were as good as the EDT. Good stuff.

mattieohhh

Terrible performance aside, this stuff is insanely good. Parfum is my preference in the Sauvage line. Much smoother with better depth. Sadly, the "Sauvage" name has given this great fragrance unnecessary hate from both Sauvage haters and lovers. Haters hate anything with the name, and lovers hate that it is so weak in comparison. However, this stuff is amazing.

Gonga

Nice, but a little bit generic. Pleasant and high-quality scent, but nothing special or unusual, a perfume for the masses. Like all Sauvage series.

areda

I have the EDP and Bleu de Chanel EDP, but I wanted a mix. This is 70% Sauvage EDP and 30% Bleu EDP. For me, this is more versatile than EDP because it is less spicy and more woody. EDP can be too much for someone, and the Parfum is a perfect addition to the line.

I recommend it to anyone looking for a more mature Sauvage.

adamh9201

As an owner of sauvage edt for years, I will absolutely be buying this one next

Edit: I have been wearing it for a while now. Still long lasting, but not as long as EDT, but the scent absolutely makes up for it in my opinion.

letdowntown

I had a bottle of Azzaro Chrome Extreme before I tried this. They're both very similar. Sauvage Parfum has more notes, but I feel like Chrome does its notes better. It also has a better rating on this site. Personally I'm happy I bought Chrome Extreme before I bought this one because it's almost a quarter of the price and doesn't have the powdery accord that this one does.
I do like Sauvage Parfum, but I don't think it's worth the price compared to Chrome Extreme, and the two are similar enough that I think most people would be equally impressed by either.

DanyoTS

The best from Sauvage line!!! I dont like EDT and EDP ,but i love this one!!!!!This is more deep ,more mature version.....just perfect perfume with great perfomance!!!!

Bigmike650

Definitely the best in the line👌🏽 To be honest I don’t even like the EDT and EDP. Too sharp and metallic for my taste, but the Parfum is lovely 👍🏽 Strong enough to get you noticed but not too strong to where you’ll offend people, unless they’re sensitive to fragrances. If the parfum is too expensive for your budget then I recommend Prada Luna Rosa Carbon. Great midrange price alternative in my opinion👌🏽 I also hear the Very Cool Spray is nice too.

MarkoK87

By far the best in the line, this one is well rounded and very versatile. In my opinion Parfum>EDP>EDT...

cashewdoc

Easily the best in the line. Sauvage is a strange beast of perfumes, both ethereal and abrasive, loud yet distant. This Parfum version wrangles Sauvage, tames it, domesticates its animal nature. If you enjoy Sauvage EDT or EDP, but don't want to enter every room like a bull in a china shop, shattering the noses of all around you in turn, check out the Parfum version. Still not entirely my thing, but I get it- this is some fascinating juice.

joenick68

I just bought mine in a 200ml bottle in the Dior website, is more convenient at this time, since discounters the price is about the same or higher and at least at the dior site you get the freebees and the chance to return it even if is open. Including tax at this size bottle I ended up paying $1.095 per ml. and as Ashton said, is it worth it? well if it had a better performance probably would, but now I have wore it two times and I agree with Ash, but anyway, probably will keep it, is not a bad perfume, that I can wear when I want to smell "sauvagy".. but not as strong as the EDT. ;-)
And well is very versatile, meaning that you can wear it in more venues or situations where the original EDT could be too much, also can be worn the whole year long, more in the night time in my opinion, but easy to bear in daytime as well.

BatemansFragrances

This should be reformulated honestly. It just does not project at all after an hour. Otherwise a genius creation. Sauvage DNA with 40% of a new addition of sharp olibanum and sandalwood complexity.

Blizznakov

I had it as a gift, but didn't like it. Maybe my nose is the problem, but i don't understand what people like about this scent. It's weak and i could almost never feel it. It is way overpriced and i would not recommend it. I gave it to my younger brother again because i couldn't feel the scent.
1 Month later edit: Brother says that he loves it and very long lasting, but i still can't feel it even on him. Anyway his words "my whole wardrobe smell like it".

A lovely deep wine with vigorous dark fruits.
Restricted sweetness doesn't impose and gives way to a deeper, mind enveloping, nocturnal journey into the old heart of the orchard.
And yet despite the opulence Sauvage parfum has big windows letting in breezy transparency.
It straddles borders - light-dark and male-female without feeling boring or neutral in the slightest.
Modernity living in an old manor. It had me bamboozled at first. I had to discover new grounds of understanding.

Anastasios Mitropoulos

"I've always found it fascinating that people think a Parfum would be stronger than EDT/EDP, whereas actually, the opposite is true. If you put an EDT or EDP on the one hand and on the other hand put Parfum, you will find the impression that the EDT/ EDP is much stronger than the parfum, and it literally is, because so much of the EDT/EDP is evaporated off of your skin due to the higher percentage of alcohol. If you've never tried, I suggest you do, because it will shock many of you. Whenever I conduct a perfumery training it's something I always do and people are blown away"
The above words are a part of a youtube video called "Talking all things concentrations and how to apply scent with Roja Dove" (Roza Dove is the master perfumer and owner of Roza Parfums which is considered to be one of the top quality niche fragrance brands).
Having that in mind the question that is arising is "why should we buy a parfum flanker that is weaker than the ET/EDP?"
The answer is that: It depends on the reason we want to wear a fragrance on a specific occasion.
If you are a person who wants to "announce" his presence creating a choking cloud around him you go for EDT .
If you don't want to choke people around you but at the same time you want your fragrance to last long you go for Parfum.
So far so good.
The truth with Sauvage is that the EDT not only has a strong projection but it also has a long-lasting performance. So, what we would expect from the Parfum flanker is that we don't want this heavy choking projection, but at the same time we want to last at least as long as the EDT.
But unfortunately, Dior Sauvage Parfum even if it lasts long, it lasts long only as a skin scent!!!!! And I really mean it as a skin scent!!! That's the main problem!!!
I've bought it two weeks ago, because it was richer and smoother than EDT, because I'm not the person who wants to chocke the others with my fragrance, because I didn't want to be one more of the thousands of persons who walk having this offensive cloud of Sauvage EDT around them and because to be honest, I didn't believe all those negative reviews about the performance issue.
It's a lovely fragrance but unfortunately, it becomes a skin scent after 1-2 hours. So what is the point of a great well-blended scent that lasts long but nobody can smell it ?
Scent: 9/0
Longevity: 4/10 (skin scent)
Projection: 1/10
Edit: After one more week of wearing it and trying to find a positive factor to convince myself that I didn't waste my money, my final results:
Don't buy it. No-one can smelli it.
It vanishes to nothing after 1 hour.
It's a waste of money.
Shame on you Dior. So nice perfume, an Parfum flanker and no-one can smell it after one hour!!!
Lessons learned: When all YouTube reviewers say the same negative thing about a fragrance believe them. I didn't. And I pay for it.

whoaboy

I can't say any of them smell other than generic on me, but I think I prefer the Parfum the best of the three. It has a depth that's lacking in the other two, and is the least metallic. I think it's saved by the spicy sandalwood/vanilla/tonka bean base. All in all, it's still a rather generic men's cologne scent. There are SO many interesting scents out there with real points of view. This is not one of them sadly.

I hated the EDT ...i quite enjoying this one

Scotty123

Went to the store the other day to decide if I wanted to purchase this one for the night outs and date nights as well. I have the original edt which i have grown to enjoy quite a lot in my mid 30’s. I purchased the EDP awhile back and was sooo disappointed, worst projection and longevity out of the whole line. So I was hesitant to purchase and buy this one. I had it sprayed on a test strip, it smelled nothing really like my BDC EDP when I got home and compared the two, like I’ve read people say on here. BDC EDP is much more classy and elegant smokey, vanilla, sweet and creamy with the best grapefruit opening ever! With this one I get a serious sense of nature and the outdoors with this one here piney smokey, fruity, peppery and fresh. Needless to say I loved this one! Way to pricey but I’ll get my hands on it tomorrow Lord willing, and since I’m getting a little to old to be playing with and collecting fragrances anymore I feel that the edt and the Parfum of this brand will suffice for my future fragrances for life. Highly recommend this one. My personal opinion is it’s the best out of the line.

redsn4pper

If it was me, I would market this one as the EDT since it is the most simplistic of the three, most appealing, and least projecting. My vote still goes to the EDP: strong, darker, and more complex.

jellisunc

I think this is the best in the line, not so obnoxious compared to the EDT. I personally think this is completely unisex on my skin. Smells very clean and musky, blended well.

Performance is decent, but nothing astounding. This one doesn't project hardly at all, but I kind of enjoy that part of it.

No reason for the hate on this, give it a sniff I think you'll like it!

smellsbells

Tested this and its like a pine tree..one dimensional and not exciting..i was hoping for more but no wow.

Fragrancehead44

Definitely my favorite from the Sauvage line.

camhowes

I tried both the EDP and this and on the day & I had a feeling I was getting more longevity and projection out of the EDP.

This was actually the first fragrance I bought for myself and at the time I didn't know much about fragrance at all. The lady in the store told me the parfum was by far the longest-lasting and best projection so I took her word for it against my better judgment.

Knowing what I know now I would recommend the EDP, at least I know when I repurchase (which I will because it's fantastic) I will be getting the EDP.

If you're new like me, don't be fooled! Just because one has a higher concentration of oils does not mean it will perform better on your skin.

I am really happy with the parfum however! It is as advertised. Has eternal staying power and projects quiet well.

Women absolutely love this scent from my experience. It has hands down, without a doubt garnered more compliments than any of my other scents combined.

The price makes it hard for me to highly recommend because I would class it as a luxury scent and I know personally after going crazy with it for the first few months I have stopped wearing it unless for special occasions or those moments I really want to impress.

It's popular for a reason guys! Everything you would want in a fragrance.

Compliments? Always
Staying power? Eternal
Projection? Fantastic

It really does strike me as the scent that Johnny Depp would wear so they nailed the marketing too.

Recently got this, i do not own any of the others (edt nor the edp) but the parfum gives a very clean vibe, not exactly barbershop clean as it does not feel just as sharp as other fougères with lavender or mint for example, it feels like it goes more in the direction of a "naturally clean" category even creamy one could say, the incense adds to that vibe kind of making it proper in the way clean historical buildings feel, sophisticated.
It is massified yes, but i cannot deny it is incredibly well blended so there is definetly a reason this is popular. It kind of is on the same line as Bleu de Chanel for me. Clean, classy, versatile, easily wearable and it lasted some good 24 hourd on my skin.

pjd1234

Gifted myself this 🥳 Fresh, aquatic, slight soapie, woodie all combined in one. I think of all the 3 releases this is the more refined and more well rounded version, (less synthetic) it’s not your typical happy go lucky (playful) aquatic type of a smell, it leans towards a serious vibe suit and tie on a hot summer day or night. Age group upper 30s imo.

Longevity is great at least 6 hours can go on past 8 awesome for a freshie.

Projection, I would say med to large. I was on a cloud scent for at least 4 hours and i love scent clouds. I did 4-5 sprays.

Uniqueness? Not quite it falls into the chanel bleu category, versace bleu etc.

Price, pretty competitive it is dior, fair pricing in my opinion.

romeyscott

Not really a fan of the EDT, but the EDP I like more as its more refined and pleasant to the nose. Just picked up the Parfum and it's my favorite of the three. Sweet, creamy and a gorgeous scent honestly don't why it gets all the hate it does. Great performance as well.

julianernesto

After spaying on the skin the smell turns into a powder bomb. Sauvage eau de parfum is by far better with longer staying power.

Plogic

After sampling the EDT in-store, I was given a sample by the salesperson. I wasn't thrilled with it then, so the sample sat on my shelf gathering dust until I decided to give it a second chance the other night. WOW! I couldn't believe I had judged it so harshly because this sampler was so well blended, so intriguing, so beautiful. Doing a double-take, I noticed that it wasn't EDT at all, but Parfum. Just got a 90% full 100ml bottle for less than $100CDN from a seller who got it as a gift. Score.

Tbh I don’t understand the low rating for this one. I have a decent amount of variety in my collection from niche to (somewhat) generic and I can’t argue that this smells expertly blended and very beautiful. Maybe it’s reviewers who thought they were reviewing edt or were upset that it doesn’t smell like eau sauvage. Either way, this rendition is beautiful and I imagine it will become coveted a few years from now, with everyone clamouring to find a bottle.

kenbid7

I got this not the EDT and regret it not. It is a great frag, no regrets. Not as strong as one might expect from a perfume but i have had tHis happen with armani perfume too. A really nice fragrance.

Bdeville

Its a pretty nice twist, i think it even justifies having it even while having any of the other versions. Actually this could have been marketed almost with a different name in order to keep the sauvage haters at bay and allure them with the smell itself.

malescent

Well I was testing this today - a complimentary sample arrived with it in an online order I made a few days ago from Sephora - @liketheboys user below nailed it with his description in his review - it smells exactly like freshly washed and pressed shirts - it is an ok scent though - I do not dislike it nor like it - it has its audience I suppose - its a pass from me - I have the edp version and I like it - the edp is at least to my nose a better smell comparing it to the parfum (mind you I have never smelt or tested the edt) - smell nice and smile!

yuri369

To FMilan and liketheboys: Guys, I'm glad for you too much...

FMilan

@liketheboys Gee. I always though Sauvage (every interpretation/concentration) was something cheaply rude or rudely cheap - not "quality-wise", but the concept itself. And I never wrote it down not to offend or misappreciate other peoples' tastes (actually, not to polemize or engage in any discussion about it - just being aware of this perfume's existence is a waste of time by definition, imo). But, yeah. I agree with the picture you painted there.

liketheboys

This review is completely subjective but I stand by it. Don’t read on if you love this perfume, I’m a rude bastard and might spoil it for you. I’d want to, actually. What this perfume represents horrifies me, but the smell, as such, goes down as easily as with everyone else.

Here is what I get. A clean basement in which a tiny old woman is pressing and starching the white business shirts of a giant. Metres and metres of fabric. Hours and hours of making it all fresh and perfect.

Somehow this is the perfect work scent. It is also somewhat of a lie, as if one didn’t really exist, or weren’t a person, outside of work. It must make people believe quite firmly that you spend your weekends making sure your work shirts are definitely, and absolutely, perfect, until it’s finally Monday again.

The idea of masculinity it projects is my anti-ideal. It’s like believing that you really are no more than your uniform, made not just of clothes but of social conventions and silence. No hate to the perfumer, he did an amazing job. Not to wearers either, it smells very sharp, but good. i just don’t get how this can be labelled sexy, it’s so clean.

Edit: I have read lots of reviews about sauvage edt now and found more debate on the scent than i knew. I don’t mind being called a snob for having an issue with this line. i am not one. It’s the marketing that gets my goat, not the fact that it’s popular. They promise ‘wild’ and give you ‘TAME’, screaming out in capital letters. How am i supposed to take that? Wild is not available this year, now be a good boy and wear this to work, is maybe how i took it. Dior never used to stand for that. Also, there are hundreds of fragrances that do give you a wild ride and plenty beautiful fresh daily drivers, too, so don’t let Sauvage dissuade you from finding out. i don’t get the idea of ‘functional’ fragrance... In moments of worry about my odour, and who doesn’t have those, nothing would work better than this. It’s amazingly fresh. But there a more effective (and cheaper) products for that than fragrance. In terms of the marketing, one has to draw the line somewhere. Taking people for fools and asking a premium price on top is just too cynical to even believe. And I find it quite snob to need a Dior for a ‘functional’ fragrance that ‘just works’. I still think they are for pleasure, fragrances. Great if Sauvage is the most pleasurable to you. It is a good scent and was original when it came out. For Orwell readers, it’s doublethink bottled, though 😂

So after not wearing frags for 20 years, i came back into the game with a bang! The Parfum version of Sauvage is the very first frag i purchased this year during my new frag journey.
After i bought it, i completely stopped wearing it, was too floral and synthetic for me, and felt it was a copycat of Blue De Chanel EDP (which it is), and id rather wear the trailblazer.

I bought a giftset that had an awesome atomizer with it so i can take frags on the go for respraying, and it had the EDP formula in it. Every time i sprayed the EDP going out i was blown away by the lovely bouquet! Then i realized, there was something magical in the EDP that the Parfum version didn't have.
So today, im going to test both on each arm.

EDP - More addictive citrus burst, more musk, slight pepper added.
Parfum - More addictive creamy Oris Root that Bleu De Channel 'Parfum' version has, removed some citrus & pepper note. Parfum version more richer & smoother.

Ironically, my conclusion on Sauvage's EDP vs Parfum is exactly same conclusion as the Bleu De Chanel line, minus the pepper note. This taught me something - women love pepper! An issue with both company's Parfum versions is that creamy Oris can become cloyingly synthetic over time, which is why i stopped wearing my bottles of Sauvage & Bleu De Chanel. The perfum versions also soil into the clothes more, losing any of the magic, but the EDP's of both lines seem to work well on clothes, creating a bouquet of the beautiful fragrance.

So, my final opinion is that the EDP of Dior Sauvage and Bleu De Chanel are the best ones.
Frags should be worn on clothing for most of the time, otherwise you'll get skin chemical burns, so the EDP's are clothes supportive. And, the EDP's have a much larger scent bubble. Crazy thing, i swear it uses the same chemical musk as Creed Aventus!

Amazing scent tho, refreshing floral with a hint of pepper and creamy Oris Root. Deserves all the hype. And because every other guy rocks this, it's hated on, a victim of it's own success. -.5 point for being overly synthetic cloying with the Iso-e Super, -.5 point for not lasting longer than an hour.

4/5 Woofs!

Several atomizations of this parfum to the cubital fossa resulted in...not a whole lot!
Muted citrus notes detectable after minutes, while a generic smelling sweet wood and resin combination begins.

The dry-down is a smell of diluted frankincense and a light sandalwood.
There is a light sweetness which, rather than rounding off the scent, somewhat mutes the resinous woods - the incense quality of these notes are missing.
(YMMV with the frankincense - I use frankincense oil in a diffuser at home, so my tolerance is high).

This scent is light, smooth but not particularly inspired. Very safe and unobtrusive.
Surprisingly weak close to the skin, despite this being parfum.
It does last for a long time on my skin, however.

This is the pleasant but shy colleague who hides in the corner at the Xmas party, avoiding eye contact with the ladies and not wanting to bother anyone.
He stays the whole night but ubers home alone.
Too polite for concentrated juice.

For fans of Sauvage, I would second guess the need to pay more for the parfum rather than sticking with the EdT.
If you're not a fan of Sauvage, skip this entirely - we're only a couple of dozen dollars away from proper niche territory, where plenty of better woody or resinous options can be found.

Bfreepro417

Writing an update on this one after buying a second bottle and owning and loving the EDT and EDP. I can’t state enough how much I love this fragrance. At first I really liked it, but I have grown to truly LOVE it. Aside from niche fragrances, I’ve never smelled such a beautifully blended, rich, resinous warmth from a designer fragrance. It helps I absolutely love the scent of sandalwood, and this has a truly beautiful sandalwood note that is just so rich, smooth, creamy, but still feels light in a way... it’s not an overbearing “woodiness” or spice, just... smooth. This is the sweetest out of the line, and the smoothest, but also the most subdued, it’s fairly low key. It does not project or demand attention like the EDT, and is even warmer than the EDP. The biggest difference is the immediate sweetness and the rich, smooth nature of this Parfum. You can tell it’s sauvage, but it’s grown up, and it doesn’t really caret if all your friends smell it or not... it’s fairly elusive. Not for the masses trying to find themselves, but for the one who knows themselves and knows what they seek. It’s warm, confident, but deeply alluring with a hint of mystery and adventure, and never losing that invigorating Sauvage freshness. It just doesn’t beat you over the head with it, because this parfum is all about attraction, rather than promotion. Easily the best designer fragrance in my collection, and I prefer it to many niche fragrances as well.

I suspect many dislikes come from the overall nature of a parfum in general, and the way Dior themselves advertise this as the most intense out of the line, but I don’t think intense is a good way to describe it. The EDT is intense, the most intense of the line. The parfum is RICH, and will never project the way the EDT does, that’s just the nature of parfums in general. It’s a much more intimate and personal scent.

Here’s some tips that help me appreciate this line even more - Try spraying the parfum at night for yourself to enjoy, then layer the EDT on top when you wake up for some extra freshness and a jolt of invigoration you get your day going. The parfum easily lasts over 12 hours and will add depth and a smoothness to your EDT or Very Cool Spray. Or just buy the EDP and get both in one, but I really love the options here for different scenarios or when the weather changes. It’s getting colder and this is also where the Parfum absolutely shines.

PurrParfumFan

It’s been a minute since I have worn the original, but the original is one of my most complimented fragrances EVER.
But... this one doesn’t even remind me of the original passed 30 seconds of being on my skin. To me, this smells like it should be a Bleu De Chanel flanker rather than a Sauvage flanker

MaxALabbe

In terms of scent this smells great, it opens with a sweet-citrusy vibe, where I get a lot of mandarin; the bergamot gives it more freshness at the opening. In the dry down that citrusy vibe turns down and I feel more of the sandalwood and sweetness, but still getting that mandarin.

its along lasting scent, but not super proyecting, I dont thing this is something that you should use to get a lot of atention, but is very noticeable by a lot of hours while you have people near to you.

My girlfriend gave me this as a gift because she loves this scent.

Yes, it is too expensive, but def you should give it a try, and if you like it, can be a good buy if you get it discounted.

First of all, I do not understand people complaining that this one smells like a shower gel. I had tons of gels in my life and none of them smelled like Sauvage. Most of the citrus fragrances could be considered as ones that smell like the finest Italian soap, and lavender ones as a beard or mustache care, but only Bleu and Sauvage get that comparison in every second review.

I love Sauvage in its every interpretation. The previous three ones are similar to each other, just with different nuances, but this one looks like their predecessor despite it was created the last one. It’s like the first and the last word at the same time — nothing can be said after this. I hope Dior won’t create other flankers for this line.

Resins in the Sauvage Parfum added softness and roundness to it. I’m still able to smell lavender and ambroxan in this one, they were not added as notes here though. In general, it smells like a concentrated, warm, and sweeter version of the original. It’s oily, intimate, meditative, and everlasting as a Parfum should be. It’s only yours, but it is able to bite someone, even after 24 hours, who is allowed to get close enough to your neck. So I would say it would be a perfect choice not for the first date, but for the date with continuation...

Crazy longevity
Reacts well with heat
Like a beating heart, quietly but surely working around the clock

Much more refined than its predecessors. I love both edt and edp just to give context. More muted, controlled. No metallic opening, no massive ambroxan assault. THe sandalwood, the bit of smokiness included really reins in the sauvage dna.

As it dries down the ambroxan forces its way into more of the foreground, it can only be kept at bay so long. It is muted though. I wish the opening and mid were able to last longer and project more. This sits very close to skin. This is much softer than even bleu de chanel parfum, which i find to sit very close to skin. Fragrance tends to fade quicker on my skin, so take that with a grain of salt.

I do love this fragance, and I think it is a worthy buy if you own the edt or edp. I own all 3 (and very cool) but I think most people can do with 2 from the sauvage line, with parfum being the must-have. This is a modern fragrance made refined enough for a man any age to wear this. A great addition to a man in his 40s who wants to smell modern.

If you want to know the difference between the EDT, EDP and Parfum versions of Sauvage, go to youtube and check out Jeremy Fragrance and or Redolessence vids on the differences.

Other than that, Its a perfect scent and i prefer Parfum version but all of them are good. I swear i smell lavender in this one, but apparently its some other notes. I love this scent. Its all Frankincense ( Olibanum) . Before you buy, must warn you it is a very tame scent. I was underwhelmed when i smelled it, thought it would have more boom! but thats ok, it more than makes up for it with Longevity, Silage and the compliments you will get just because this formula is not fragrance, it is a potion! its magic in a bottle! WTF are you waiting for? GET OUT THERE AND GET ONE! LBVS

This is one of the better designer releases in the past couple of years. It's unfortunate that people let their prejudice of Sauvage EDT and EDP get in their way of giving this one a fair chance.

Right off the first spray, Sauvage Parfum smells much smoother, darker, and fruitier than it's predecessors. The mandarin is a complete game changer here. The rough edges that were present in the openings of EDT and EDP are completely rounded off.

The dry down is a creamy sandalwood that is nicely darkened by the incense. Sauvage EDP has a sweeter dry down overall but I definitely smell tonka in the Parfum too.

The ambroxan is there too but it's used a more controlled manner compared to the ambroxan WMDs that were the EDT and EDP.

Overall, considering the recent designer market that has been oversaturated with coumarin, amberwood, and calone infested copies of the same DNAs over and over again, Sauvage Parfum is a nice change of tempo that is a good reminder of when designer fragrances used to have finesse and weren't just aromachemical laden "things".

As a fragrance overall, it's a 7/10. But relative to the designer fragrances that have been released in the past few years, it's a 9/10

Acqua di Parma's Note di Colona iii smells very similar to this.

I think this Parfum version outshines both the ETD and the EDP.

It is a much more complex fragrance. If you are annoyed with the EDT this is the way to go. To me the EDP and EDT smell almost identical.

This is a mildly sweeter and woodier Savauge. This fragrance is heavily woodsy, smoky, it has a vanilla sweetness and an ambroxan undertone. It is actually quite complex. The dry down truly does remind me of a campfire. Dior impressed me with this.

Projection is fairly weak, longevity is also fairly weak however the fragrance is 10/10.

TyNel

This is an intoxicating scent for evening wear. It's rich and deeper than EDP (nice as well) and EDT (harsh and shallow). Longevity is beastly, and not project as loud as the two previous versions. Sauvage Parfum is clearly deviated from the blue line, and should be in niche territory.

Citrus2014

It smells conventionally good.

Dior, like Chanel with Bleu, tries through the "perfume" variant to remove most of the criticisms brought to the previous variants and, for the most part, we can talk about success.

The smell is creamy, sweet and spicy, without exaggeration. It is much more "round" than the previous variants. To emphasize its qualities, it needs cold weather.

Sauvage Parfum has very few elements in common with the EDT and EDP variants.

Only in the drydown the blasphemous ambroxan returns.

Longevity and projection are both very good.

I just love it...the Perfum is simply amazing 🥰

The original was awfull, way too much ambroxan, it gave me a headache and actually made me feel sick, this parfum is very close to bleu de chanel and quite soapy, i like this one , it has more class and less offensive, its not really worth buying if you have the chanel parfum though.

wilger18

I own Sauvage EDT and EDP so I consider getting this. Went to department store to try it on skin and on paper. Too bad it didnt last. Sniffed my skin but gone in 30 minutes. Paper lasted longer but obviously Ill be putting this on skin. Ill pass on this one. Ill just stick to my EDT/EDP.

andrewg

Really liked it the first time I tested. I own the edp but I just enjoy the edp a lot more. The parfum comes across may too musky and mature. Not as fresh and interesting as the edt or edp.

I often feel like I'm in a minority, but I actually don't like Sauvage. I find the EdT and EdP too sharp, cold and synthetic. I find them boring and bland, and they give me a headache. EdP is a little bit better because it is a slight bit warmer and softer, but still not good for me.

The Parfum is definitely the Sauvage version I like the best. Or dislike the least.

This isn't a sharp, synthetic ambroxan bomb... This smells much more natural, much softer, a bit warmer while still clean and fresh, and while still having the recognizable Sauvage DNA.

But for some reason most people who like Sauvage seem to like this one the least. While I who don't like Sauvage likes this one the most. Go figure.

So yeah, to me this is definitely the best Sauvage. But it's still not great. It's not as strong as you might expect from a "parfum", and even though it's fresh and pleasant enough, it's just kinda boring...

Rozan

You can clearly feel the sandalwood, bergamot, olibanum, tonka and resins. I can't sense vanilla. Sauvage are trying to be classic and intriguing, but they are monotonous (similar compositions can be bought at a much lower price). Disappointing.

Mncnm

Classy, refined, elegant and pure masculinity in a bottle.
The Lavender, Frankincense and Sandalwood combo makes for a really luxurious feel with that bold, mysterious freshness that only Sauvage can capture.

The lasting power is immense. The longevity is nothing short of perpetual. Out of the 3 versions, this one screams expensive in nature for overall smell and quality.

This is grown man, confident, well-dressed, well-versed and has the ability to persuade and be taken serious type of parfum.

art452

Opening is fine, the first 10 min you feel the pepper notes pretty well, i actually liked it at first but maybe i was trying to like it because of the excitement i felt trying Sauvage for the first time in my life.
Middle notes are mainly sandelwood for me, I don't think it's so pleasant in the summer (the time it was tested), but overall it's ok.
Dry-out is somewhat weird with it's natural-sweet vanilla, didn't like that.
As i said i never tested other editions of Sauvage before this one so i'm unbiased with my feelings with it as comparesent to other versions; i know it might shock some people but i don't think Sauvage deserves the hype it's getting around the world.
Scent is good, not something that made me lose my mind, not for this price for sure.
Holds well on skin.
If i receive it as a gift i will be happy but i will never buy this guy because i have at least 5 frag in my mind smelling much better than this.
Maybe other versions smell better, ima check them and write on my profile if i did.

92juanjavier

I feel very disappointed with the sillage of this perfume, it is really low, you have to stick your nose on your wrist to feel it, even if you put a lot of sprays.
It reminds me of Sauvage EDT but this one is less powerful although its aroma pleases me a little more, anyway I don't like it too much either.
It is a dense aroma, what I perceive the most on my skin is sandalwood, it is a creamy sandalwood, nothing dry.
I do not recommend it because its longevity and its sillage are really low.

Ambroxer

The Parfum opens with distinctly more freshness than either the EDT or the EDP. The citrus has been dialed up significantly. A little bit later, some of the pepper and spice that are Sauvage’s trademarks present themselves, albeit in a more gentle way than the previous two releases. Ambroxan seems to be present, how could it not be? Here, it’s much more a small, supporting role and no longer the leading man. Other reviews have surely mentioned that this is the most subtle concentration of Sauvage, and that’s certainly the case. Calling this flanker Sauvage Subtil is probably not what Dior is looking for, but that’s what you’re buying.

And you’re buying it for a price too, which will be hard to justify for many, I’d imagine. If you’re going to wear Sauvage, why turn the volume down? It seems a little antithetical to the brand.

I don’t want my comments to come across as too negative, as I actually really enjoy the scent. It’s much cleaner than both the EDT and EDP, which I imagine would make it more wearable to some. It feels well blended with more pronounced sandalwood. Sweet, to an extent, but not in the popular bubblegum way. I could see it being worn to go out on Saturday night, but also worn by the man who enjoys brooding alone at home. Not sure if that’s an endorsement for great versatility, but like its other variations, it could be pulled off in a variety of settings.

Overall, I say thumbs up. There are just some major caveats to be aware of, which one could argue is true of all three concentrations in the line…

Noddygoestotoyland

Whenever sold in bottles with 60ml or 100ml we all know that a parfum isn't a PARFUM.

That goes for this Dior, other Diors, as it goes for all the other male fragrance brands playing this game.

In a consequent world where truth or meaning would be of value, people would receive money back from brands, as they would shamefully be asking for forgiveness!

Parfum used to be the name for an intimate act, opting for the unique. Treasuring it.

First actual experience with Sauvage line on my skin:

This is a big departure from the EdT version. When I thought of Sauvage I thought of fresh , watery and peppery blast. This is not one of that. This is sweet vanilla-ey with some spicy touch. This is like you combined Code Profumo with a bit more of dark, balsamic and spicy touch. This will get attention for sure, esp. during hot summer night (heat does helps with projection).

It’s so sweet that for me the only appropriate use of this is during date / night club. Though when talking about clubbing, I can’t say much about performance, though.

My personal take is that if you already have Armani Code Profumo or some super sweet date-night fragrance then this could potentially be redundant. As a man who already quit clubbing scene and rarely go for night out, I find no reason to own this.

BatemansFragrances

Niche quality but does not project after 2 hours. Completely gone ( well it's not gone it's just a dense oily skin scent ) Sandalwood sharp resins + Dior sauvage backbone

rossw117

Very different to the Sauvage EDT. I do like it however the when the fragrance settles I get a very similar smell to the old, now discontinued I think, lynx instinct. Sits very close to skin which I think helps the fragrance. Not the same projection as the EDT.

Bfreepro417

Rich and intoxicating is right. This is an incredibly smooth and well blended fragrance.

I'll start with saying I really do not like the Sauvage EDT, at all. In fact I never thought I'd purchase and wear anything from the Sauvage line again. I like the overall idea of what the EDT (and many other "Blue" frags) are trying to do, but I really do not enjoy the scratchy and ultra-chemically ambroxan bombs.

While I don't like wearing certain "Blue" EDT's like Sauvage and Luna Rossa Carbon, I really like the more refined and smoother EDP or Parfum versions like Bleu De Chanel EDP, and now this.

I absolutely love this one. There are obvious similarities with the EDT, as well as the aforementioned BdC EDP, but it really blazes it's own path and boy, it's RICH and deep. Gone is the loud and obnoxious scratchiness of the ambroxan and pepper mix, and you instead get a luxurious, rich, and beautifully well rounded fragrance that, to me, feels like what the EDT should have been. A versatile, refined, grown up and mysteriously intoxicating fragrance for men who crave adventure in the great unknown.

The smooth and creamy trail of sandalwood is amazing, but it never loses it's crisp, woody freshness that this line is known for. When I read it had vanilla in the notes, I was hesitant, but I don't detect much of it. Really this is an ultra fresh and beautifully resinous woody fragrance, totally fresh spicy as opposed to warm spicy, but it's blended so well, you can rock it anytime.

Longevity is incredible, projection, as with most EdP and Parfums, is toned down from the EDT, but it has MUCH more depth and complexity and will last way, way, way longer.

Again, I never thought I would truly LOVE a fragrance from the Sauvage line, but I am truly glad this one proved me wrong. A masterpiece of modern designer perfumery.

This is the warm, woodsy, natural-leaning father-figure of the Sauvage trilogy. Lacking the brash clamor of the original (which certainly has its place), and even quieter and smoother than the EDP, the Parfum makes a credible play at sophistication in a line that isn't primarily about sophistication, but rather a sort of rakish, brutal masculinity. Here the brutality is removed and corners are tucked in and smoothed out. A legible blood orange (or mandarin) top note shifts pretty quickly into both green and darker woods, creating a round effect similar in tone to Bleu de Chanel Parfum, though this is drier. Despite relying on modern woody chemicals, here the effect is evocative of actual forests, at least by implication, in the same way vetiver recalls woods, grass, and soil. Projection is mild and the overall aura is warm, woodsy, and masculine. I find this more compelling than I expected when I first tried it, and it was doubtless underrated right at the start. Dropping any need for this to be comparable to the EDT helps it stand out as a very appealing grown-up offering from Dior.

This one is the best of all three! 10/10 Most complimented fragrance I've owned since YSL la Nuit (before the reformulation). I waited quite sometime to buy this one only due to the first set of reviews saying the performance was weak but that is not the case. This has a nice scent a decent if not good sillage on my 7th hour of wearing this I still get tons of compliments hell even on my 10th hour people still are telling me how good I smell and im not even that close to them! very satisfied with this.

tiozzo

nice scent and super longlasting

OntheMark

Tested some of this at the local Sephora today, and I have to say, it's pretty damn nice. Dare I say it's even better than the EDP, which was head and shoulders above that screechy EDT.

When I first sprayed this on, I immediately picked up that OG Sauvage DNA, though dialed down and much better blended than its predecessors - thanks no doubt to a conspicuous absence of ambroxan. How they replicated the accord without it, I couldn't tell ya. But they did. Great bit of alchemy there.

As it dries down, what remains of that familial Sauvage DNA peels back a bit, revealing something also familiar, but different. Where have I smelled this smell before???

And then it hit me. That lovely dry down, frankincense with a touch of sandalwood and vanilla - is very similar to that of the sadly discontinued masterpiece, Bvlgari Aqva Amara! I have actually tried layering Sauvage EDP with AA and found the result to be really nice, and this fits squarely in that same wheelhouse.

So there you have it - Savage EDP's top notes (minus the ambroxan) + Aqva Amara's base notes (minus most of the mandarin/orange flower) = Sauvage Parfum.

If the OG Sauvage is for the <25 set and the EDP is maybe <35, this one can work for just about any man of any age.

Hell of a nice scent, IMO this is what Sauvage should've been in the first place -- but better late than never. Instant love and likely my next FB buy.

johnnybui

I can see the opening is different from the 2 previous versions. It is fresher. Then the dry down got the same vibe from the old Sauvage but smoother and more natural. The projection is good enough for me so I can smell the scent on myself and do not annoy the people around me. Very long lasting as always. 12 hours on my skin but it is still strong. Recommeded version.

BOtieno

I am not a fan of the original but I really enjoy this scent. Doesn't project as heavy as the edt or the edp but is a more superior scent. If I was to rank my top 3 fragrances this would be my order:
1.Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Parfum
2.Dior Sauvage Parfum
3.Bleu De Chanel Parfum

mazga

This may 'remind' some people of YSL Y , buuut maybe from a distance ...they are different scents. Not as loud as the edt but longevity is definitely not bad (8+ h easily). The best one yet in my opinion , it has something more mysterious going on than the rest of the Sauvage line , more alluring. I guess its more for nights out and maybe romantic dates.

Jackcarter92

This is so good, it’s a grown up version of the other two. I was never too keen on the original because every man and his dog was wearing it. This is a much darker smokier version of it. I have seen longevity issues. Mine is not huge in projection however the longevity is really good. If you have the EDT or EDP, it’s safe to get this as it’s different enough to buy I’m my opinion.

RobsFrags

Retains the original scent character of its predecessors in that it's fresh and pleasant, but it has a noticeably more woody and darker tone relative to the original and the eau de parfum.

Performance issues are nonexistent for any of the flankers, and this one, in particular, lasts ridiculously long... it's even difficult to scrub off, lol - it's projection is a little softer than the others.

As someone who prefers "freshies", my ranking of the Dior Sauvage line is as follows:

1.) Eau de toilette
2.) Eau de parfum
3.) Parfum

*This is just how I would rank them against each other; I like them all, though*

Le Chypriote

This is it! This is Sauvage in its final form - what it should've smelled like from the very beginning!

The Eau de Toilette was a projection monster with no character. The Eau de Parfum had too much Ambroxan. But the Parfum is a masterpiece.

The quality of this formulation is outstanding! You get notes of dry mandarin, bold Tonka bean, incense, and creamy sandalwood. This is a very versatile fragrance that can be worn at any time of the year (with moderation), at any time of the day, for any occasion.

Francois Demachy has done it again!

Manton96

going to be honest and very neutral here, and this is my personal opinion not some big review. I tried this today after having owned the EDT and a fan of the EDP, and i was really disappointed, but here's why. It has that clear sauvage DNA but the spices and woods are toned up a lot, a little too much for me, i think it just doesn't work well on my skin but it was a bit overwhelmingly cheap synthetic wood type smells with some fairly harsh spices, the combination let off (sorta the same with the EDT) a dry nappy and baby powder type smell. I ended up washing my hands to get it off me, I really wanted to like this but couldn't, try for yourself and hopefully you may like it, but a let down for me unfortunately, EDT still remains my favourite.

klioahmed

Any one else think it’s heavy Perfume if you spray it near to your face area and make you little headache
This only thing i dont like but alll others things is ok

alvinzm

a bolder, sweeter sauvage edp.

I love it so much but I think getting the edp would be a better choice since the edp has a better performance and the sweetness and freshness are more balanced.

Sexy. Very sexy in his semplicity. 12 h of longevity. Poor sillage.8/10

GloryRide

DSP became my signature after using it for weeks and discovering what (to me) it is about.

Dior's Sauvage perfume is not a jack of all trades usagewise. It is not for guys who seek attention, nor is it for guys with the sole goal to seduce ladies. No, this is not for boys. Instead, this perfume is an artistic, sophisticated solitary man's fragrance. What do I mean by that?

DSP paints a classy, yet mysterious image around its wearer. It surrounds its owner with a cloud of sophistication, mature- yet sensitive masculinity, and unique beauty. This perfume tells a story of a man who enjoys his time in solitude in a dark, almost a night starry sky-like atmosphere, somewhere in a canyon-desert with beautiful elements around him. A guy who wears this is a man who knows himself, is introverted, is not like masses around him, and a man who is uniquely distinctive. He doesn't seek attention, yet he stands out wherever he goes. He knows who he is as a person, what he wants in life and he goes for it, he does not seek anybody's approval. This perfume presents its wearer in all this.

Ladies notice him when he is near, but majority won't approach him. Why? Because he is intimidating. Not in a bad way, but in a "out of my league"-way. He knows himself so well and doesn't try to please people, he comes across as someone who has a very strong foundation in life. It takes a courageous woman who is very confident in herself to approach the man who wears this perfume. And if that happens, something life-changing and unique is born.

TLDR: Artistic, mature, self-confident introvert man's perfume, with a luxurious feel and class to it. Not for boys.

Koup1472

Has anyone had a chance to smell multiple bottles of this one, I feel like this fragrance either had a batch variation going on Or the bottle itself needs to age a little.

moawiya.alanazi

The opening is similar to the previous entries but as soon as it transitions to its own distinctive character. Nice and heavy projection within the first 30 mins then it becomes a skin scent.

Scent wise, i can clearly smell the incense and luban with a touch just a measly hint of mandarin that blends perfectly well with the overall perfume.

This one has caught my attention and will be on my purchase list.

Jasmundo

Really, really nice. Well pleased with this.
I've nosed but not owned neither the EDT or EDP, but for me this is a clear winner. Smells classy..

It was between this or Prada Luna Rossa Black, and very glad I went with Sauvage.

samuelpeterson

Very long lasting. After 24 hours, will leave a blue-type skin scent. Opening is delicious but descends from there. Parfum gives richer scent over edt, edp.

baliszonyi

I appear to be very lucky with my skin as it usually keeps and amplifies fragrances. I sprayed it on my arm last day at 7 p.m. Had a thorough shower last night but this stuff is still clearly going on today at 2 pm. That's 19 hours. I.n.s.a.n.e. I want to keep myself away from buying any Sauvage, but man this smells so goddamn good! It has almost none of the harshness of the EdT. It's only real issue that it doesn't differ enough from the EdT not only for the masses but for me neither. So that would make me smelling like literally every third guy on the planet. I am no snob freak or a niche only guy, but the popularity of Sauvage is clearly through the roof (Demachy is a genius). The second issue is the price as it costs at least 1,5-2 times the price of the EdT which is very hard to swallow even though I could afford it.

TyNel

This one is really nice, and I'm glad I've tried it after a full blown reject of EDT, and on the fence on EDP.

_Versus EDT version, it is richer, sweeter and smoother and also fresh, but without the It the scratchy harshness.
_Versus EDP, EDP is really half way of EDT version to this parfum version, in richness, sweetness, smoothness, and lessened but still more than enough freshness, and lessened scratchy harshness.

Opposite of what many reviewers have said, the scent still last after more than 9 hours in and out of the office, with just three sprays from the sampler on the neck area in the morning. I did not even feel the need of reapplying after 4/5 hours. I'm not sure if others around me can smell it for that long (too bad if they couldn't because I sure have enjoying it, and will continue to wear it). I would buy a bottle bigger than 3.4 oz if they had it.

AJ1515

Too powdery for me. The opening is very nice, but I am not a fan of the dry down.

Cassiano

In other words, Sauvage Parfum represents the night scene, as the EDT version conveyed the heat of the day and the EDP version focused on twilight time. And to continue telling the same story without losing context, the Calabria bergamot keeps bringing the first nuances of the fragrance, just like in the others. However, some things have changed! This composition no longer brings Sichuan pepper and ambroxan, which was once the centerpiece of the plot.

Now Sauvage Parfum has notes of Calabria bergamot and juicy mandarin, creating a fruity and spicy starter accord. The body is woody by the notes of Virginia cedar and Sri Lankan sandalwood, creating a creamy and unusual raspberry accord thanks to the exclusive planting of one of the company's suppliers, whose partnership has lasted for over a decade. The apex happens at the base when tonka bean joins the Papua New Guinea vanilla absolute, also found in the Eau de Parfum version.

Sauvage Parfum confirms something I've written before: Dior knows how to make flankers very well, because it can unite the DNA of the original version with a subtle touch that works, precisely, to bring the differential in each one of them. In this perfume, we have a mix of creaminess and freshness that evolves into a smell of smoky woods, becoming denser and giving a tone of mystery, something that many expected in the 2018 Eau de Parfum version, with its notes of vanilla and nutmeg.

On my skin, Sauvage Parfum is the version with the best output and, overall, the best fragrance (in the literal sense). I like its fruity content, which is not too much citrus and evolves into a soft and slightly bitter smoky scent. But here I leave some particular considerations, which can happen on the skin of other users: does not work well on hot days and has no high projection, disappointing in performance. Durability is excellent as it looks like a constant aura of energy throughout the day.

And the question everyone asks is: which is the best of the three in your opinion? Well, the best is the one that gives you the most satisfaction when wearing, regardless of price, smell or concentration. And at this point, what gives me the most result is still Sauvage EDP.

Savatage79

I am absolutely in love with the Parfum, I think this scent is gorgeous, smooth, sexy and just damn good in every possible aspect. I love the EDP but after time I think the parfum is my favorite, just gorgeous as hell. I was going to skip this one but so glad I didn't.

Top notch release

Lovaloo

Recieved a small free sample bottle of this from Nordstrom in the mail and decided to test it out on my wrists.

The opening is a blast of sharp citruses. After 20 minutes or so they start to fade from the top and the deeper sandalwood, resins, and tonka bean notes begin to come out. Eventually I faintly smell the vanilla as well as the "leathery and bitter aromas" at the heart of this fragrance.

Personally I'm neutral-positive on this fragrance. I like it more after it dries down, but only because the more intense citrusy notes fade and the more subdued notes surface. I could see it smelling relatively nice on a man if it aligned with the natural smell of his body. I can't be too terribly critical.

EDIT: I actually had my boyfriend sample this & it smells much better on him than it does on me (unsurprisingly). It really complements his natural body scent. I've warmed up toward it considerably. He seems to like it & he might buy a bottle.

jman316

Never been a fan of the Sauvage's. This one, i happen to love. The orange note is exquisite.
Out of my price range, so cant wait for someone to clone this!

alabangcute

I tried it today on my arm and after showering, it's still there. It's nice and in my opinion, better than the EDT.

andrewg

Good juice. A little more musky than the other versions and comes across more mature. This would be an instant must have if they added more mandarin. Brilliant opening but the mandarin fades too quickly and just becomes musk. Edp is by far the best flanker followed by the edt then parfum.

ÔParfum!

Freshness laid on embers.

Shower gel style mixed with burning wood.

That's what I smell. Boring.

I have the EDT but use only few time and never use it again because of offensive and annoy people around me. When I test this one, I decide to buy it. It higher class than the original one. No need to over power and kill people around you, this one is smooth, round and classic. The fan of TDH will like this easily. One thing that ashame for *parfum* is the sillage very weak even 7 sprays but the longevity is very long even overnight. I like this perfume.

Flounder

I picked this up on Ebay for $80 from a woman who bought it for her husband, and he didn't take to it. It was only sprayed twice, what what a deal it was! I can understand why younger people would be upset with this release, but for a guy in his mid 30's to mid 40's, this finally delivers a Sauvage that is wearable without upsetting people in a work environment. It still has the DNA, but it is smoother and much more sophisticated. It projects good enough to get complements, but never offends. It lasts for 7+ hours, and dose exactly what its designed to do. This release is not for the EDT fans, it's for a new audience, so it stands to reason the EDT fans are rating this fragrance so poorly. This isn't for that person. But it is an amazing scent, and I say bravo to Dior for this fantastic offering!

Koup1472

A fantastic well rounded and blended fragrance, it projects mildly but longevity is 12hrs, the mandarin is the star of the show in the opening, I prefer bleu Chanel parfum for the same price, but this is nice. Now that there is 3 lines to pick from chose accordingly for what your looking for. It’s not the projection monster the edt is.

bimjowen

This is easily one of the greatest fragrances ever made. It blows away the EDT and is a more refined composition than the EDP. It is rounder, deeper, and less abrasive. It doesn't scream "PAY ATTENTION TO ME," yet it will get you noticed by people within arms-length. You will be complimented incessantly.

I put 5 sprays of this on at 7am. Two coworkers complimented me on my scent at 7pm.

The fact Sauvage Parfum currently has a laughably-low 3.27 overall rating while the EDT "bro" formula has a ~4.00 is clear evidence that the vast majority of these reviewers are tasteless monkeys, with noses incapable of recognizing a world-class scent.

psyside

Very underrated, and put down by reviewers, they jumped on the hate bandwagon, this is clearly much better then the EDT, and even better then the EDP.

Be your own judge and sample and either purchase or move on without malice or hate for the DNA, its only a fragrance people, not a political movement.

N8vDoll

Smelled this one today for the first time and I have to say, I loved it. I much prefer this one over the other Sauvage fragrances. A clean (but not soapy clean), masculine scent with dark vibes and a sexiness that just doesn't stop. Of course, that's my personal opinion. I'll probably be purchasing this for my boyfriend in the very near future lol.

mewakwon

This is so controversial.
Just have a chance to try.

The opening is very smooth and pleasant than EDT and EDP
But but
It's not projected any scent

Although the scent is more suit for cold weather than EDT & EDP
I cannot imagine how this can cut a thing through the cold.
unless you need oversprayed very very enormous

It last longer but it's not the point
EDT & EDP is still the beast mode by it self readily.

So dissapointed when compared it's price with the performance.

Not the bad scent
But a bad price & performance.

yurii_chynchyk

Unfortunately I wasn't impressed

I wanted to feel something as deep as Eau Sauvage parfum or famous DHP. Comparing to those two Sauvage Parfum makes no sense to exist at some point.
Many mentioned it's way to similar to EDP - I'm agree with that. It does not have strong projection - I'm agree again.
It's not giving any "Wow" effect while wearing it.

So what is the idea or the secret ?
I can get why it does not have strong projection, same as with Bleu Parfum. It shouldn't. It supposed to be pretty silent, more intimate personal fragrance. It shouldn't scream as EDT. So I can take this. Makes sense at some point.

But the composition is not AS DEEP as I expected and wanted it to be. It has very minor differences comparing to EDP which I like but didn't fall in love with eventually.
Although the Anise note was absolutely good in my opinion and I wanted it to be more prominent. But ok, it could be small dose if continued in Parfum with more.
Anise star is so rarely used as component but so unique and magical if well played and built into composition.
So I don't get why Master Demachy decided to take off Anise star from it. Could be nice combo with sandalwood.
Instead he's adding regular and boring tonka beans. Why?

A lot of questions.
Maybe not a fail, no, definitely not.
But it could be more interesting

dennispetrospour

I call for Dior to reformulate this scent. Its just a beautiful scent that doesn't project at ALL. Sits as a skin scent all day, but who wants that? We need projection. If they do this I will buy a bottle. Until then let it sit and not sell.

trayton

This is the fragrance which marks the end of the (over)use of Ambroxan in perfumes (fingers crossed). And other than that, I can't find any other value releasing this fragrance as it is now.
Since it's 90+ percent identical to the EDP I'm wondering if this has been sitting at the shelf ever since as one of the alternate release versions of the EDP... 2019 Perfume edition is without Ambroxan, it's also less fruity which puts the beautiful frankincense, spicy signature of Sauvage into the center. I think this is the true trademark of Sauvage and here the compisition appears as a smooth, well created, beautiful form, in its best form IMO. It is unique. But sadly not anymore... many people avoid Sauvage for some time now because it became way too popular among men in all ages and unfortunately this market landscape takes away the fun to enjoy this new Perfume on the long run and think about it as something special despite this is its best format.
This would have been a lot better release without EDP on the market already. But now... it would have needed a far more larger twist to it to make this a big hit, and it's pitty Dior didn't pull this off. For example, I love Bleu de Chanel's 2018 perfume iteration. I think that's a very good balance in bringing something new while preserving the signature of the formula.
Bottom line, if you use EDP now and if you switch from EDP to Perfum then 90% of people around you won't notice the differnce.
Performance wise, it's very good 7+ hours with an average projection. Projection has this on-off behavior, where you might think the scent is gone already but actually you can smell it over and over again when moving around.

erdembilgin

Why would Dior make a perfume that smells like 100 others after 20-30 minutes on the skin. They've ruined the Dior Homme/Intense/Parfum and Fahrenheit and bunch of Privée collection already... It's supposed to smell like Dior, not a standart designer fragrance. Whatever they are doing at Dior is not working definitely.

Arsenal Till I Die

I loved the EDT when it first came out. Then it blew up and I smelt it virtually on every male and I really started to dislike the smell.. This Parfum right here is some nice stuff though. For a few seconds I smelt that sauvage DNA from the initial spray but this starts to smell more deep and luxurious, it reminds me of Bleu De Chanel Parfum in terms of the blend. Lasted on skin forever and projects well for the first two hours on me.

Koflan

There's nothing really dislikeable in this.

While the EDT comes out with that caustic citrus-pepper and truckload of ambroxan, and while it projects well and is mass appealing it's also pretty grating, this one is much more mellow, as you would imagine a resinous parfum to be.

I'm continually getting whiffs of it over two hours after applying one spray from a sample vial to my wrist, but not in an obtrusive way. The projection is very nice, it smells warm and masculine.

The problem I have with it is that it still has that characteristic Sauvage-ness that I don't particularly love. I'm not sure what it is, since this and the EDT share few notes, but it's an immediately identifiable smell that I just don't want to smell like.

I don't think this is deserving of so many negative reviews, chalk those up to the automatic hate for everything mainstream, and I'm sure that a lot of people will love this, but it's just not for me.

JanneMan45

Not the same projecting as the EDT, but smells deeper as a skin scent.

Smelled nice on my skin, still could smell it after 24 hours.

For a designer it is expensive in the lower niche range

swax1990

I still find EDT at best in the line. However, this Parfum version actually has an amazing smell in the middle on my skin, i get the original DNA plus some sweet oranges, fantastic combo... (It's kind of like Sauvage EDT + Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sun) Unfortunately, it does not last within 15 minutes and changes in the last stage, when heavy hitters come into play as vanilla tonka and sandalwood, very creamy and sweet. Strong and headaches induce flavor on me...

Mizrahikatlani

This is the same house that gave us DHP & Fahrenheit Parfum.. WTF?
How can this be so soft? I mean it lasts for hours but the projection is nowhere to be found and we’re talking about Sauvage here, a freaking monster in terms of projection (EDT), all Dior can see right now is $$$ and this shit is just not worth the price.

Stay with EDT or EDP.

baliszonyi

Managed to have a sniff at this finally and to me it feels completely redundant. Yes it differs a bit from other iterations but the difference is so small that it does not seem to justify the raise in price. Personally I would go for the EDT if I had to buy 1 of these 3

In the case of BDC you can point out all the differences, but this is not the case with Sauvage.

Edit: drydown is surprisingly pleasant!

Dellamorte

That's Sauvage L'eau...

alan1991

Dior Sauvage trying to be Prada Luna Rosa Carbon that tries to be Dior Sauvage and both ending in BDC EDP territory. The parfum version of Sauvage is sweeter, creamier and the ambroxan shock that was the main identification is gone. I dont know what is the idea of this drastic change.Personally will pass.

MrEleven1181

Recently received a bunch of testers in the post from dior and this was one of them. I enjoyed this fragrance, really quite nice spicy sandlewood and it lasted 7 hours on my skin before it started to really fade.
The main problem with this fragrance and its a big problem is the projection and sillage is very poor so poor i just couldn’t bring myself to buy a full bottle. Its a shame because the scent is really quite nice.

Spasticink

this redundant release is just marketing move.
Smells nothing like BDC Parfum btw.
Sausage Parfum is not bad but I will stick with Chanel as BDC is much more sophisticated.

TrephineArtist

Sauvage tamed with less of a synthetic ambroxan effect to previous releases.

I had an inexpensive Sauvage-a-like by UDV and this reminds me of that, more fruity in the opening, less synthetic (despite costing 10 times less) and simply nicer. The UDV was a bit brighter though.

Once this begins to dry down (which is very soon) it increasingly resembles the common Sauvage DNA but in a softer way. These 'flankers' seem to me more about tweaking batches rather than 'proper' flankers, hey it's a business I guess and Sauvage is their money spinner.

Not a bad fragrance at all but not a great one either (to my tastes), I'll whisper it but this seems a remarkably 'safe' release from Dior, the most noteworthy thing, apart from it being less harsh this time, is that the rather nice video advert was pulled after being deemed offensive. Well I'm offended that the offended found it offensive.

I'm interested to see if there will be another Chanel Bleu release soon as then we'll know what the next Sauvage will be called!

BR549

This is what the original should have been. Ambroxan is tamed. Even though this is a Parfum it is softer and more rounded of a fragrance than the original. I believe the sandalwood adds to calming this one down. No matter what anyone's opinion is, Sauvage will be a classic years down the line whether we like it or not.

Tazahr

To me this is a smoother and surprisingly softer version of the original sauvage despite the heavy and darker notes listed.

Eliminate the sharp and piercing pepper note and add tonka bean / vanilla mix while keeping the citrus / ambroxan freshness and sportiness.

The parfum suits me better as it is less offensive and not as loud as the the original. In fact is very close to the skin and has notably weaker projection and even less longevity.

ObiWanCannoli

This isn’t a bad fragrance but it’s not a great one either. It isn’t as sharp and ambroxan heavy like the EDT, making it more rounded but also less unique. The first time I smelled the EDT I was wowed by its bold unique scent, and immediately wanted to buy it. This one is well composed but more generic. It smells like a high quality deodorant.

I like the dry down better than the opening, the sandalwood is more detectable. But the projection is very weak by this point. The EDT has much better projection than the parfum, which is expected, but it’s a bigger difference than I expected.

There is nothing to dislike about this fragrance. But it has lost its personality and oomph. It’s a well constructed but ultimately basic blue generic mall scent. Not worth the price. For blue fragrances in this price range I’d take Bleu de Chanel Parfum without hesitation.

7/10
Rating adjusted for the price: 6/10

I wish they would have really amped up the vanilla and incense to make it stand out.

stevenskinner

Tried it yesterday. It still smells on the card that I sprayed it on but I must say, to my nose, it smells identical to Bleu De Chanel EDP.

siomes

Smells exactly like the ETD but replaces the ambroxan for vanilla and it’s a heavenly vanilla almost identical to the vanilla in pour Homme opium but it’s so light that I can barely detect it a few hours later and the resins note dumbs it down. The EDT has a monster silage and if you have that then no need to buy this as the great vanilla opening doesn’t last but a few minutes. I wish it lasted longer.

BatemansFragrances

This retains about 50-70% of the original sauvage DNA but the ambroxan is gone and the shower gel freshness too but it's very sharp, sweet. However it doesn't mess up your nose like the EDT

909scents

@fings BDC parfum smells much better and performs good on me

fings

Smells like BDC Parfum....

marwaniq

the same sauvage DNA but a little more creamy and smooth not as sharp and edgy as the edp but i guess it lasts longer. for me i would prefer the edp and i will never consider buying this one. i would recommend to stay on your edp or edt sauvage but if you dont own one. then go and smell the three of them :)

Sauvage: A never-ending story.
In 2015 the first version that dominates the market is born.
In 2018 the EDP version was born which adjusts the Ambroxan effect of the first, making it better than the latter.
In 2019 This version is born.
We note that Demachy's commitment is total because this fragrance represents the perfection that is missing in the first two. I believe it also represents a challenge for the master himself.
We decide to eliminate the ambroxan in favor of a good dark vanilla. The wood here is among the best ever tried by me and this goes in favor of the creator nose who claims to have personally selected the best Sauvage Parfum sandal. Here too, the fragrant light years away from the original composition as it is not present the element "curiosity" or the olibanum.
The perfume can be described with a few agreements, as it is written on the official website (and I totally agree):
Bergamot, mandarin, sandalwood, cedar (who does not smell it continue to exercise his nose), vanilla, tonka and a very light leather (see the parenthesis above).
I have had and still have every version, one next to the other and I must say that Dior sacrificed a big name for money. Also here, as in previous versions, there is nothing about "SAUVAGE". It is without doubt the best of the three. If the EDP version has deeply surprised me, this version has kidnapped me but with a great disappointment due to that olibanum that does not exist (Another thanks to fragrantica for this deception). My adventure with this line ends here and I learned a great lesson that is the opposite of what it represents in advertising. We see a man who goes from the city to the desert. From chaos to tranquility. I don't know about you, but when I wear this perfume (and I refer to it in every version), I go from the desert to the city and from tranquility to the chaos that corresponds with the new spot where a man "disturbs" the quiet of nature with the sound of an electric guitar. The highest honors go to the strategists of the Maison, to Demachy, to Johnny Depp. What is certain is that when I finish all three bottles, it is difficult for me to buy them again, because for every step you take in the street, you only smell this fragrance.I'm not saying it's a bad perfume, actually ... this here he ousted the second as the second ousted the first but despite all that wild feeling I was looking for I never found it and, on the contrary, I find Sauvage as the king of urban fragrances.
Dear friend, you made the history of the Maison as I had planned for 2015. As for promises you are very skilled, but as for facts, you are always the same but with more masks, that's why the actor who represents you is, in my opinion, one who wears them better than anyone else.
I wrote that you are a never-ending story but I believe you are always the same story told in a different way.
You take a 10/10 with arrogance and the story ends here.

radi85

Smells like sweet bubblegum. Very different from the original EDT,which was ambroxan bomb. Not bad if you like tonka bean sweetness. The original is better.

Martin__

Starts off like a washing powder and then it smells like a mix of EDT with EDP with strong, sweet, bubble-gum additional note. Very annoying, maybe even cloying and off-putting.

Very good longevity (8 hours+), medium to good sillage.

No, thank you.

wodzocelot

its quite strange, that when they used to launch flankers couple of years ago all of them were different than originals - do you remember Fahrenheit Aqua or Absolute? Homme Intense, Sport, Cologne? Allure Sport or Edition Blanche? and suddenly flankers started to be just a bit different versions of originals - Bleus de Chanel and Sauvages are so similar its different to spot the difference. I'm afraid the main reason to launch them is... launching another advertising campaign and keeping the interest over the main line. sad. I had hope it would smell different than EdT - but it is not. sad.

909scents

@biiin- I agree on the longevity it lasted like 12 hours on me but after 30 minutes of spraying you seriously have to put your nose to your skin to smell so what's the point of having even a 24 hour lasting fragrance if you nor anyone around you will smell it?

ysl187

Best of the 3! That being said, projection is a shoulder length after 1 hour!

Great scent poor projection...

jpon91

This is the image that I get of wearing this for the fifth day in a row:

The drydown is marvelous, really. I'm not trying to hype anything, and I'm not saying this hyperbolically. There's a lot of resins and a leathery undertone to the sweetness that comes from the benzoin and the vanilla/tonka. It is quite smoky and maybe just a hint of the mild aquaticness of the signature Sauvage ambroxan. It smells expensive, it's not generic, it's not intended to be a crowd pleasing bomb, or to be a club banger as the EdT.

This is not really suited for formal occasions, and is not suited for the club, it's not a summer fragrance and it is not as thick as a FLP or you know Spicebomb Extreme or what have you, to make it a winter fragrance. This is a fall fragrance. I imagine this - I have a flannel shirt with some jeans and boots and I am in a cabin where the trees are starting to shift to warm colors and I'm collecting some timber for the evening. Cabin is luxurious and my outfit is, although casual, very opulent as well. I think SLP is perfect for this. It is rugged, it is masculine, it is not playful, it is classic smelling. 28 years and up I'd say.

I have an utopic obsession with Bottega Veneta PH Parfum, as I had the possibility of buying and didn't, and now I cannot do so anymore. I always imagined myself using BVPHP in the exact scenario as I told you - a signature scent for the fall during casual scenarios. Masculinity and Class.

biiin

1) To the fragranticans who claim this is missing the ambroxan from the EDT or EDP: I'm not convinced you know what ambroxan smells like.
2) To the fragranticans complaining about longevity: you need to get a dog or a home gas alarm or something because I'm worried if there was ever a gas leak in your house you wouldn't be able to detect it.

909scents

This is the worst from the line both in scent and performance. It smells too powdery/femm and soft. After 45 minutes of applying it's a very close skin scent you basically have to put your nose right on skin to smell it.

TheInspector_

Much like the style of the Eau de Parfum, there is apparently very little of the fabled Sri Lanka sandalwood (farmed with special practices) in this formula. More disturbing is the presence of some feminine powdery notes—instead of leathery ones (as promoted). Don't suppose there is any work-through at all for this one. Take it as it is or leave it.

genvy

Does Dior make claims about this Parfum using only natural ingredients, as I keep reading in reviews here?

Dior's website also describes ambroxan as "an ingredient of natural origin" ...

Don't fall for their marketing hype and spurious copywriting. Look at the ingredients on the box. Do you consider limonene to be a natural ingredient? Or ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate?

Respect the scent for the aroma, not for false marketing claims.

nersc

Guys, have you ever smelled pure ambroxan? It's not smelling like shower gel.

bimjowen

I love the composition of Sauvage EDT and EDP, but both are absolute ambroxan grenades. Sadly I'm not an ambroxan fan. Like many others, ambroxan reminds me of cheap shower gel.

Mercifully, there's no trace of ambroxan with Sauvage Parfum. The composition of notes is subtle and beautiful, geared more toward a 30-something man rather than a 20-something dude-bro.

According to Dior's website, they use a lot of naturally-derived ingredients in this formula. Judging by the quality and depth of the scent, I believe them.

I bought the $120 bottle, but I immediately regretted it -- I should've gotten the $150 bigger size.

A+, Dior.

Happy Turtle

I can understand the dislikes for this, when compared to the previous two releases it's a bit disappointing. However, still a very pleasant, mass appealing masculine scent. Good longevity too. It's smoother than the others with toned down, but still present ambroxan note and doesn't project so much. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on what you're going for. A bit pricey but definitely worth looking into if you were turned off by the harsh / abrasive showergel nature of the previous two. If you already own the EDT or EDP (I have the EDP) then this would be a redundant purchase IMO

Jatom22

Tested it today and cam say depending on the performance I'd absolutely purchase this. It smells like the edp minus ambroxan, I dont dislike ambroxan but I'm not overly fond of it. Hopefully this has good performance.

drswonder

During my years of being a cologne Connoisseur (or colognaholic, if you prefer), I've discovered that all classic men's colognes then to share three commonalities: Natural ingredients, simple composition, and a distinctive unfolding of the fragrance. Please consider Sauvage Parfum in light of these three.

First, natural ingredients. In the parfum, every ingredient is natural. Not so with the other two Sauvages. The other two contain an annoying synthetic ingredient called ambroxin. Too strong. Too pungent. Synthetic and therefore cheap smelling. Does not sit well on the skin. Smells like bug spray. NOT so with the Parfum. All natural, good stuff. "Creed" natural, if you know what I mean.

Second, simple composition. Some colognes (and parfums) contain more notes than spices in a spice rack, and just as too many spices spoil the food you eat, so also with colognes. Sauvage Parfum, however, is simple. Here's the Fragrantica breakdown: bergamot, spicy mandarin, sandalwood, tonka, vanilla, and frankincense. Six ingredients. That's it. Simple is good. Two examples of this kind of elegant simplicity would be Creed's Bois Du Portugal and Green Irish Tweet; both classics.

Third, distinctive unfolding. In Sauvage Parfum, the men's classic combination of citrus and sandalwood are present and accounted for when you first spray on this juice. Then, the tonka bean, vanilla, and frankincense combination kick in -- but ever so slightly. You can smell the actual development of this fragrance on your skin, and it's almost magical. The real magic, however, is the way both the citrus and the woods continue to hang around balancing e each other while tonkafranknilla beckons in the background, compelling you to keep sniffing yourself!

Bottom line: NOT like the other two Sauvages, and that's a very GOOD thing! Pricy but a little goes a long, long way. SO worth the investment! You will not regret it. Enjoy!

OhDeParfarm

Like many others I have had the EDT on my shelf and I actually loved it and still do :-)

Then came the EDP and have just tested it briefly and I actually like that one as well.

But the biggy, "The Parfum" version what magic could it do?

Actually nothing!

Have to be brutally honest! It is the most boring and uninspired flanker I have come across. Sorry, I would stick to the EDT and/or the EDP version!

In my opinion, Bleu De Chanel's "Parfum" version is way more interesting than this D.S Parfum thing.

Over and out.

asgeirn

Wow.... just wow....

smooth, elegant, intimate....

these are the first words that comes to mind trying to describe the scent.

i was just downtown today in Norway, casually slipping by the local perfume store (Kicks) and the lady working there called me enthusiastically inside to tell me the new Sauvage had come (i had asked about it a week ago)

it made my day.

cvaile

Interestingly enough this and Alien Man wind up as very similar skin scents.

johnpatrickcastro35

another MONEY GRAB!!! im sick and tired of the flankers.... just make the greatest fragrance you can then release it... stop guinea piggying us and give us a decent fragrance to begin with for fucks sake!! flankers should all be cheaper than the initial release if you ask me theyve already made their money off of us so why is there a need to be greedy and fuck us a little more with these outrages prices?? i smelled this and im not buying an entire bottle that smells similar to the edp!! this is bullshit and maybe if more people spoke out about this these fucking companies wouldnt be so quick to fuck the consumer in the ass! this is another hype job by the masses .... becareful when you follow the masses sometimes the m is silent!!

Marino419

I went to the department store today to test and assist me in deciding if I wanted to pay the niche level prices for this fragrance. I already own the EDT and the EDP, so I know it is only a matter of time before I own the Parfum. The question is whether or not I want to wait for the secondary/gray market. For comparison, I found the EDP worthy of picking up the first week it went on sale.

Right now, I'm just about an hour into wearing from the tester bottle. This fragrance is undoubtedly Sauvage. The star of this Parfum flanker is undoubtedly the mandarin. I'm surprised that it is still prevalent an hour into wearing. This is not an ambroxin bomb like the other two. It is different enough from the EDT to definitely own. IF you already have the EDP, then you may be like me and still a bit unsure. They are similar enough to me to really not need. Substitute mandarin for the intense vanilla in EDP, and I feel like you may very well have the same fragrance.

As I hinted above, I ultimately did not buy the Parfum bottle. As aforementioned, it is only a matter of time before I have this. However, my justification for purchase is from a collector standpoint. Thus, I will 100% be waiting for this to hit a discount retailer. If this were a bit less money, I would gladly have purchased.

trmjkd989

People keep saying this release is "redundant" but this is the only version of Sauvage that I can physically stomach wearing. The others (EDT/EDP) give me headaches and nausea due to the high dosage of ambroxan and pepper. Sauvage Parfum retains the original Sauvage DNA but is much smoother than it's predecessors. I actually quite like this one.

lovetribe

From dior site...mandarine and bergamot, cedar of virgin, wood essence of sandal of sri lanka, absolut vanilla of papa nuova guinea.

paraskevoula

The official Dior website lists the following as the main notes:

Bergamot Mandarin
Cedar Sandalwood
Tonka Vanilla

Nothing is mentioned about ambroxan or olibanum
Maybe fragrantica should change the olibanum for cedar..?

hullhockey91

This one is different....shockingly enough.

You don't get the headache inducing start of the original, and its fairly similar to Sauvage EDP....with a few key differences.

This one doesn't have the insane amount of ambroxan in it. It still has it, but this is superbly mixed in.

This one also has a "grown up" vibe. Nothing like an old man per se, but this is definitely a more mature version than the previous two. It has a powdery vibe (which I generally hate), but isn't over the top. It also has a *slight* added middle eastern incense vibe - Nothing like a church incense, but more like a subtle animalic side which adds depth and dimension.

This is a genuine mix, one of which smells very smooth and complex. This is going to be GREAT in the cooler months.....Good Stuff, Dior!!! Dior is back on top!

Rockdown

I tried out the parfum yesterday. To my nose the scent was like the EDP. The performance was very good. Anybody within a three foot radius could smell it on me and the lasting power was insane; I could still strongly smell it after having a shower. I will probably buy a bottle after my EDP is finished.

Chazas

Got Sauvage EDT right on release, I actually really liked it and found it quite unique back then, not to say that I am a lover of niche and artistic fragrances, I just found Sauvage to be simply great at being "simple" and just being spray and go daily fragrance. EDP was a great release, rounding up the scent DNA, making it more smooth and elegant, yet I never seen a reason to get it next to EDT. Now Parfum is in my eyes a really good release, very different from EDT and pure quality as always with Dior, specially with Parfum/Le Parfum versions borderlining niche level quality. Personally I am definitely getting it to have it next to EDT and along side all Dior's Parfum/Le Parfum fragrances like Eau Sauvage Parfum, Homme Parfum and Fahrenheit Parfum, love them all. And Sauvage Parfum is a great grown up, darker, more elegant manly variations of EDT with superb powdery and woodsy nuances, making it very sophisticated.

I see Parfum getting again some flames and hate as in general with Sauvage line, also like BdC at the release and more recent flaming BdC Parfum, yet over time it starts to be loved and recognized. Of course as always there seem to be some blind and ignorant hate, already saying like it is the worst of the worst and that it does not perform at all, while in reality it is great and does perform superbly. But this blind and ignorant disliking and hating applies to many different things in life, so nothing to worry or write about.

Happy to see that Parfum version stayed in 100ml and not been reduced to 75ml as many Dior's Parfum/Le Parfum flankers. But quite a big price bump is a little disappointing compared to EDT and EDP, but it is a competing price to BdC Parfum, just in general it is a little strange to see designers more expensive than lets say Montale or Mancera.

ozlemmenguloglu

I'm looking forward to try this scent!! the man tried it before please say; what about the longevity and sillage??

jaexrobb

It's definitely a refined(better quality) Dior Sauvage. It smells darker definitely for the night time. It smells elegant and smooth. It's not loud like the eau de toilette, but you WILL be noticed when you walk by people. It smells gorgeous. This is a scent you can't dress casually because of the elegance traits it has; must be dressed up in my opinion. I would say it's a versatile "night" time scent whether you're going to the bar, or a date, clubbing, or any "night" activity.

VexedRomance

Sauvage Parfum is an ambery aromatic. Expectations were high I am sure, but it would seem as though Dior has performed the most typical ritual, and stripped the fragrance down to its barest elements. Hate to put boundaries on when-and-where this is acceptable practice, but it certainly seems done in poor style and taste here.

At the forefront, you get the designer Ambrox that has become the Sauvage signature. The choice of pepper seems to have changed, but it does retain a very slight warm peppery facet to it. The mandarin in the opening is lush in orange bitters, and feels crude and vulgar for what it adds to the fragrance.

The amount of their famed Sri Lankan sandalwood is almost non-existent. Hardly any sandalwood in it at all really. Just enough maybe to provide a subtle texture in the backdrop, so that it feigns sophistication and a unique identity.

Tonka bean seems to be the key player in the base. And it's a very bland tonka bean—like you would find in many cheaper fragrances. The claim of leathery notes seems entirely fictitious. There appears to be a powdery facet instead—that is very Bleu de Chanel-esque. The fragrance undeniably carries a similar oversoul to it thanks to that facet.

Additionally, performance was really poor. It's either Eau Fraiche—or it uses nanotechnology to knock out your olfactory.

Dior is really like the extraordinaire French merchant with the elaborate stories and sale pitches they come up with. You could almost mistake them for Arabs. I bet the Prive version of this Sauvage (that the wealthy select can special order) does offer a decent sandalwood accord—but it's probably just loaded with recombined α-Santalol—not from "special farming practices".

I'm almost certain the advertisement campaign is a vulgar cannibal reference of some kind. Very disappointing to say the least.

Santos89

Whenever Dior makes a Parfum it can either be great (Dior Homme Parfum, Eau Sauvage Parfum) or just ok (Fahrenheit Parfum).

I was quite apprehensive about Sauvage. The thing is, making a parfum of Dior Homme is easy. It's a deep, sensual scent with extreme complexity. Amping up some aspects and turning down others makes it very different.

Sauvage though, is very simplistic and straight forward. So there isn't a lot of wiggle room for improvement, as Sauvage is damn great as it is.

But of course, Dior pulled it off.

Combine that familiar dusty fruity citrus opening of the EdT with sandalwood.

Add incense and vanilla to the base, whilst dialing down the ambroxan and you have this.

I totally get the advertisements for this, there is a desert vibe to it. Everything is sort of raw and dusty, but still well composed.

This is Sauvage for the adult man. Do note, that this is NOT Sauvage in a business suit. This is still that fun little fougere scent that won over so many hearts, but it's more complex, deeper and heavier.

The only con I can find, is that the added heaviness makes Sauvage Parfum unsuited for extreme heat. For that you need the Very Cool spray, or the EdT.

Is the Parfum worth it over the EdT? Well, for me it is. I have gone through a 200 ml of Sauvage, and the Parfum is a fresh take on the theme, and one that is more in my style. But I do recommend you try it first, as the Parfum is quite different.

Longevity is brilliant - 14-16 hours.

Initial impression of Sauvage Parfum

It’s quite different than the EDT and EDP

Firstly it’s more subtle. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but another example of concentration having zero value when discussing men’s perfumes. This isn’t going to project like the previous 2

Anyone telling you this is just a stronger version of the previous releases is incorrect.

The scent is darker, denser and smoother, if that makes sense.

Comes across more mature and after 30 minutes on skin it may as well be a different release as it doesn’t give off the standard Sauvage scent profile

I don’t know if the price point is justified, I’ll have to give it a few more tests in the morning when my nose hasn’t been exposed to too many scents throughout the day.

Initial impression however from 3 sprays to the arm and 1 hour on skin is that the EDP is probably still the best of the 3

Tested today... was looking forward to this release but... bla bla bla... I guess in my mind I am comparing this directly to Dior Homme parfum which I rate as probably the greatest designer release of the past 10 years.

This wasnt particularly strong or potent on my skin so performance was poor to me... when the edt version beats a supposed parfum concentration... to me there is something wrong.

Smooth yes but I dont want smooth...I wanted and expected something with a little more creativity and zing.

It just plain reminded me of a more neutered shower gell softer vibed Sauvage.

Vaguley similar to Bleu De chanel Parfum which I thought was also massively lacking in more ways than just performance levels considering this is ment to be pure parfum.

Could they not have maybe dabbled with a little oud, leather or rose maybe...? Make it abit more interesting and creative?

Not impressed at all to be honest infact dull and boring come very much to mind.

Well, I'm not the biggest fan of Sauvage EDT, it's way too i shouty for me although I own it. The EDP didn't work for me either. So, trying the new Parfum version in store on skin I found it to have promise, less shouty more rounded. I returned to it and noted at 45 minutes in that I'd realised it was not significantly different to the EDT. I would imagine that if you walked up to someone who didn't know the fragrance and were wearing the EDT they aren't going to notice it different if you walked up to them the next day wearing Parfum. ...so, don't expect wonders, this new Parfum version hasn't achieved much and if you buy it you're still going to smell just like all the other people wearing Sauvage and there are a lot of them. In my opinion there's nothing great about Sauvage, it's fresh and shower gel-esque and boring.

Sauvage Parfum to me is a mysterious, brooding and dark fragrance. I love it for that this was a love at first sniff for me and yesterday I tested it and never have I bought a fragrance so quickly, although masculine a woman can pull this off.

The EDT and EDP came off as too showergelly to me and the parfum has no signs of that at all, which is all I ever wanted in Sauvage. I get hits of bergamot, sandlewood and frankincense on my skin and it's wonderful.

Sauavge Parfum is very mature and that added frankincense really makes a huge difference. This one just hits the nail on the head for me and is everything I wanted in Sauvage fragrance.

I have a 200ml of the EDT for £115 bought 2 years ago and a 200ml of the EDP £132 bought about 13 months ago and I don't really reach for them but when I do it's because I can't be bothered to think what to wear just spray and go and they get compliments. I tested the Parfum which is £104 in the UK and Bleu de Chanel parfum is £106 in the Uk both 100ml. They both have sandalwood and do the same thing. I enjoyed the time I spent with the parfum version of sauvage but it didn't wow me as a must have especially as I treat the EDT and EDP as spray and go dumb reach fragrances. This is just Dior saying to chanel anything you can do we can do too.

Nice. Not nice enough to purchase for me. I'll wait for the inevitable Sauvage Night or Sauvage Intense then probably say the same. I'm flankered out for now.

They've done it!

Dior have done it. They've made a parfum version of the divisive Sauvage and it's going to split opinion in the way the original and EDP did...but perhaps for different reasons?

For a start, what is this modern obsession with having different concentrations of popular fragrances? Well trading off of the name and well.... MONEY... but what other reason? I know what you'll say...look at Guerlain or the women's arena in general, they've been doing this for years and I get that. However there seems to be a modern 'arms race' by two giant French brands to mimic each others production and a meticulous and cynically planned agenda to suck money out of punters without a great deal of concern for making something of value.
However a friend pointed out to me that he owned all the Parfum versions Dior have created in recent years, Eau Savage, Fahrenheit, Homme and now this Sauvage Parfum. When I thought about each one for a moment you realise that they do have merit. Eau Sauvage Parfum, best one in my opinion. Fahrenheit Parfum, a tough following act like 30 years after the orignal but is very enjoyable and was largely a success if not commercially but generally with enthusiasts and even gnarled, cynical, purists like me who adore the original thought the Parfum was decent. Then there's Dior Homme Parfum which comprised elements of DHI and the Original to create something (again IMHO) better than both of them!

Which brings me to Dior Sauvage Parfum.
This opens for me, much brighter and with more citrus zing and feels less scratchy than the original or EDP. It then drops a subtle sandalwood effect, being closer to the skin and more sensual not projecting an permeating, aroma chemical cloud the same way as the EDP and way less harsh than the EDT. Simply put, they've dialled down the Ambroxan. I hate to just mention that one AC because there's a misconception that Sauvage's crimes are purely down to ambroxan when it's a mix of tenacious, choking base chemistry.
The parfumm is still very long lasting and even a day later I can smell it on my hand and it does indeed smell of Ambroxan but it's a nice non scrathy one, no where near as cloying or projecting as the other two.

The key with Sauvage is don't overspray and you'll have an enjoyable experience. I never got the hate for it, it's got lovey fresh tops, a powdery, slightly harsh but masculine, modern and minimal base.

So they've made another parfum that is excellent join the ranks of the others.

Few caveats to that....This version is £40 more expensive for what some will perceive(and in reality IS) a lighter version of the original.
Seriously Dior that's quite a price hike!

Then I started to question my appraisal, sure they (Dior/Demachy) perhaps listened to feedback about the choking effect of the other two and decided to reign it in to bring in customers on the fence about Sauvage? However, in doing so have they removed it's USP? Of being the big dominant unashamed, unabashed, chemical brute? A beast mode, bro down, staple of the modern designers, with it's aggressive Abroxan calling card?
I don't know???

Blander version is maybe a little harsh because like I said, this is the best version. I bought the EDP because it was less harsh than the EDT but now this one is here I kinda wish I'd waited but on the flip...I wouldn't pay the retail price...so yeah it's a conflicted positive review.

Gave Dior sauvage parfum, a wearing today and it was nothing that was ground breaking in terms of smell, projections, longevity. I'll rather stick with my edt and edp.

Coffee King

I have to say I am impressed by it, the DNA of the original is there, but this is deeper and smoother then the predecessors, I very much get the sandalwood vibe, and ambroxan. Lasted about four hours on my skin, sillage was rather weak, but it's parfum I guess. I am a fan of the full range. If you're expecting something heavy, that radiates, then go for the EDT, this doesn't. Dior please don't turn into YSL, we don't want Sauvage night or sport, leave it at the wonderful three.

i was in my local Macy’s when the Dior rep asked if I’d like to smell Sauvage. I told her not unless you have the new Parfum edition. She was surprised that I heard about it! She asked me how did I hear about it? She claimed it’s supposed to be hush-hush till they release it. I told her it’s all over the internet/fragrance community.
She grabbed a decant if it from behind the counter and sprayed my wrist.
It smells like Sauvage only sits closer to the skin. Kind of a redundant release if you ask me..

phrogfrau

Gorgeous, sophisticated, classy. The sillage is low but the scent is complex and extremely long-lasting. I detected 4 distinct phases - the initial wave of scent that is masculine and authoritative, the 2nd phase (after the 1st hour) the playfulness peaks out with sandalwood, the third phase (4 to 5 hours later) it smolders as a delicious, rich, sexy skin scent with the same intoxicating vanilla-like note that is found in Dior Addict, then the 4th phase, into the next day, is a soft, woody, alluring musk. Beautiful creation!

jubril.balogun

Got the fragrance due to a mistake by a retailer putting it out early. I really like the scent, this is a lot more sensual and refined than the EDT and EDP. This variation seems like it was made for the night but does well in the daytime with four sprays.

I have to say that it does not project like the other variants, which is why I like it so much (I found the earlier ones just too loud). It keeps the Sauvage DNA but goes into a different direction due to the mandarin and incense, which makes it different enough to purchase if you have the other versions.

Smell: 9.5/10
Longevity: 8/10 (after the 5hr mark, tones down but you get whiffs later one)
Silliage: 8.5/10

It does retain the basic Sauvage DNA even though it does seem much softer and more rounded off. It isn't as loud as the edt but still has a very exceptional longevity. Being honest though, I expected more sandalwood and incense instead of the prominent generic soapy note. Will not be buying this one, I rather stick with Bleu de Chanel edp.

FragranceTester9292

Smelled and received a sample at Dillards today! Full review coming soon.

Initial first spray: Retains sauvage dna (a plus), but a little "whiter" (a plus)! meaning it is a little sweeter and more polished than edp. Definitely not as loud and in your face as edt

Initial thoughts: Smells great upon first initial spray. Look out for full review soon!!

Le Chypriote

This hasn't even been released yet and people are already hating on it. What gives?

smellsbells

does it smell like incense?

baliszonyi

I think the idea behind this is good. I am currently looking for an autumn/winter scent and though I fancy Sauvage EdT, its in your face style freshness (black pepper+ambroxan) was always making me hesitant as I own many freshies which are better in my opinion. EdP is too middle ground between going aromatic and oriental which is not really a positive thing for me. Now this Parfum version will leave ambroxan and black pepper out of the picture so I am honestly curious how it is going to smell like, but I feel in my guts that this will be the version at which I am finally going to pull the trigger.

Aroma Addictus

Two days ago I smellt this new fragrance and in my honest opinion, I'm not impressed at all. Dior Parfum has an animalic accord in the opening and that makes it less alluring than the other versions. Maybe its the frankincense that causes that. It also has a weak projection and for the rest is smells very close to the original. No WOW factor at all. If you allready have the eau de parfum version (which is way better)than this is redundant. Nothing special.

georgequeue

Next move Dior Parfums should make (instead of creating 1,000 flankers of their latest releases) is bringing back Fahrenheit Absolute (together with other perfume beauties), which they should have never discontinued!!!

dkroonen

Eh why is the fragrantica list different then the listed product from Dior?

Mitchsmellsreallygood

Now this I can get behind. The EDT and edp are good fragrances, but to me, are too similar and have that signature overpowering synthetic amber (ambroxan) accord that is just too much for me some times.
This new Parfum seems like it will please my nostrils more.... as I tend to like oriental/smoky fragrances. I will definitely give this a try.

MeThePerson

Got it in the UK this week... Given it plenty of opportunity on my skin over a few days...
Well, what can I say, amongst the dirth of ever-more intense formulations of pillar titles, this is, immediately, what the original formulation SHOULD HAVE BEEN. The difference will be on the skin that this will allow the frankincense to shine. No harsh nauseous Ambroxan here, so it might as well be a totally different title... so Joe Public will either reject it or think they're unique.
Not much more to say unfortunately. My nose is SO tired of the original.
Having said that, I wasn't impressed by the overall quality and I don't think this will make any difference to the drone consumers buying "Johnny Depp's perfume" because they blindly obey the marketing hype. Too much safety being practiced by Dior instead of their past bolder icons. They must know by now their falling reputation in the community, so do something about it for heavens sake!
