2022 Generation Femme Fragrance Reviews

Bitter almond and nectarine open the fragrance with a touch of neroli. The nectarine smells like the skin of the nectarine, not a juicy fruit. The tea notes adds complexity and galbanum sharpen the scent up while the powdery heliotrope and tonka counter balance the strident accords to give this comfort. Sandalwood joins to smooth this all out into a pleasant unique, scent. Everything is well done and blended, the bottle is gorgeous and heavy. It has a soft powdery, mildly sweet, feminine vibe and the best part of it was the drydown. Its an appropriate any time of day and reminds me of guerlains l'huere blue edt with a modern heart.

Must comparisons come from the galbanum opening into a gourmand type of scent, but having worn Must only than the sharp opening, but its really not close to it. Humbert goes conservative, using the least amount of notes for maximum impact, rather than the multi directional feel of Must. Try before you buy...however if you are a heliotrope lover, or powdery scents it would be an ok blind buy. This isnt a gourmand as we have come to expect from the industry.

Something wonderfully updated and modern.

I'll have to do some research, but if this has never been done before, I don't know why! It's an incredible composition. The combination of galbanum and tea with almond and tonka is absolutely brilliant. I suppose this could be interpreted as slightly "powdery vintage" because of the heliotrope and sandalwood in the middle, bridging the bitter green and the rich almond/tonkanilla, but the composition itself is so novel and innovative that it doesn't read as vintage to me at all. Also, no aldehydes or musks that people usually expect to find if someone says "vintage style" about a perfume.

I'm kind of marveling at the simultaneous oddity and obviousness of this combination. The last time I was this surprised and gratified by an odd coupling was with Volnay's Objet Celeste, which matched up sage and jasmine - another seemingly bizarre but completely perfect harmony of the light and the dark.

I think I might have to get some of this, which is not good news due to the cost of the bottle (maybe just a decant will do), but I'm still ever so slightly on the fence because the almond or the heliotrope (not sure which) has this peculiar lanolin note to it - and I dislike the smell of lanolin very much. This may descend somewhat, but I'm an hour into the development and it's still here, so that may be another bullet dodged.

This smells very lovely. Clear bitter almonds with heliotrope and floral accords. Classic sense, powdery vintage style.
